I just came back from watching the new Jumanji and that's exactly my opinion as well. I loved this new movie but I still LOVE the original way better. Robin Williams is THE MAN.
Honestly, I liked both movies. The original is better since it's story is richer, touching on the more serious theme and was more memorable. As an adult, I can appreciate a lot more about the movie, especially how the entire town basically turned into a crime-ridden slum after Allen disappeared. Also had some legit scares to it. That being said, Welcome to the Jungle was one of the most fun movies I saw recently. I went into the movie because I was bored and wanted to get out of the house. I figured what the hell and saw it. And it was a lot better than I thought it could be. Story is kind of weak, but I laughed a lot, something I don't do. Sure the original is better but I don't regret seeing Welcome to the Jungle.
the first one was a childhood classic but honestly i had so much fun with the new one i think its actually kinda better and i dont just mean the effects
mk6rfc1 Agreed. Mrs Doubtfire is a classic and if it got remade it wouldn't be the same because Robin Williams WAS this character,he wasn't phony or recognisable and you'd say oh that's a man he actually sounded LIKE and LOOKED like an ACTUAL woman unlike a certain Caitlyn Jenner
1995 wins by a country mile. Much better story, much better focussing on the Alan character, and just a lot more heart, and more interesting cast. The only thing the 2017 film has is CGI and pyrotechnics... superficial.
95 Jumanji is better, but 2017 Jumanji was still funny and enjoyable. The original is more of a dramatic action adventure film with horror elements. Kids were really scared by this film. It also has a richer story and the concept is way better; the jungle coming into the city. Although Williams carries the film, all the characters are memorable and likable. I love Dunst and Hunt’s characters. And the music in the original is just magical. The new one I can’t remember. The cast in the new one is likeable. The movie definitely tries to be funny and succeeds most times. But apart from the sentimental ending it doesn’t have that same emotional resonance the original achieves effortlessly. Something that’s crazy to think about is that without Alan, the kids in the new one would probably be living in the slummy version of Brantford since the writers decided to keep the location in the same city as the first.
I’m really annoyed how many people love the new jumanji, it’s just a cliche story with the name jumanji just thrown in for a quick cash grab. Jumanji never needed a sequel it was an amazing ending. And you actually cared for the characters in the old one while couldn’t care less if these characters died. Also hilarious “poop, pops, penis haha funny “jokes like c’mon this movie treats children as if they are monkeys and can’t understand anything serious.. ugh. This is just my opinion
Honestly, both movies are good in their own way but I prefer the 1995 version. While the 2017 version has better characters and better acting, I felt like it could have done more with its concept and setting and I think the 1995 version did a perfect job with that and of course, Robin Williams
I love the new Jumanji’s with the Rock and Kevin, but it’s NEVER GONNA TOP THIS JUMANJI!! R.I.P To the man that brought me childhood through his amazing characters in movies Tbh this is not even a competition,Robin Williams Jumanji is the best hands down
The first one was great, but I feel like it was just for kids. As an adult, it's a bit of a watch. The new one was a blast from start to finish and it was enjoyable for the kids and the adults.
I still pick the original but I have to give credit where credit is due. Instead of making a crappy remake/reboot they went for the sequel and in my opinion hit it right on the money. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
hey adam you said A year ago that you would give this youtube channel one more year and than you were gonna quit is there any update on that situation? P.S. love your channel:)
I posted a thing on my patreon page (for all to view) like 6 months back and shared it on twitter. Long story short. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. It's a nice little read if you want to track it down. Thanks!
Adam Does Movies dang! I must have missed that! ill be sure to check it out and thank you for making videos,if you keep making them ill keep watching them!
I loathe critics and wannabe critics. A movie is to be judged by the watcher. Like religious preachers, critics are just annoying and down right rude, forcing their opinions on others. Critics, preachers and politicians are among the lowest of humanity. Stop telling me what to think or believe. I'll do that for myself.
Welcome to the jungle was fun. The original was depressing, I just felt bad for the characters the whole time. If we knew time would be reversed at the end, the original would be a lot better. That is the same problem I had with Deadpool 2.
I would have loved to see a real Jumanji sequel, where characters are sucked into the world of the 1995 Jumanji and have to survive. Missed opportunity.
In my opinion, the original Jumanji was way better!! I grew up watching the animated tv series, and therefore the 95's movie was more relatable for me. Although the new movie had a lot of good comedy elements, I think the story was stupid and it felt more like a spoof movie.
Well, thats the thing now. The going idea about film scoring is to write something not memorable. So its on purpose. Didnt say it isnt stupid. It is. Its really just directors who are insecure about the fact that pretty much all composers are more talented than them.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the new Jumanji. I though all the video game references were pretty great like the repetitive NPCs and stuff. The dick joke did go on way too long though.
I was born in 2004 so I liked the 2017 because of the actors I liked and the graphics I tried to go back and watch the old version but I couldn't I just couldn't understand the horrible graphics
The first one was definitely better. Better story, better characters, character development, a great soundtrack and even some heartwarming moments. All the second film had going for it was action, explosions, and penis jokes. You know, the same typical crap from comedy films with no substance going for it.
Watched 2 movies over the holidays... SW:TLJ and Jumanji.... Jumanji was a god damned masterpiece compared to TLJ. If my wife hadn't convinced me to take the kids to it - to get back on that horse, so to say - I'd likely still be avoiding theatres at all costs. FUCK SW:TLJ. 90s Jumanji was still better though. lol
I mean, can you really watch jumanji 2017 and understand it without Robin Williams Jumanji? . New jumanji needs 95 jumanji to work more than 95 jumanji needs the new one.
I like 2017 jumanji because we get to see where allen parrish lived in the jungle (spoiler) what the jungle looks like seeing the map of jumanji in the game at the end when they shout jumanji (spoiler) and to se there totems from the board game esspecially the elephant because that was allen parrishes totem and last but not least the special ability best movie of 2017
Lmfao, so i guess the solution for any dying intellectual property is to throw the rock and kevin hart and instantly revive your dying intellectual property.
people people people..... You are saying that 1995 "version" is better... I don't know why the heck you're counting these two movies like two different versions but the actors of the secont movie said IT'S A CONTINUATION!!! NOT A SEQUEL NOT A REMAKE BUT A CONTINUATION!!! because the Jymanji story never ends!!!watch the movie and you will see how the two movies are related even if they look totally different and you will see how the board game turns into a video game. and if you put these two movies together they will make one! No matter how many other Jumanji movies come out, no matter how many times the game changes, there will always be a continuation...JUMANJI STORY NEVER ENDS!!! #JUMANJI4EVER ❤
Are you kidding me is this even a comparison 1995 Jumanji without a doubt, its CLASSIC, 1 OF MY ALL TIME CHILDHOOD FAVORITE MOVIES
Right it has an element of horror to it. Not this cheesy comedy of the new ones🤮🤢
1995 Jumanji is my preference
1995 so much better!!!!!!
1995 Jumanji Is Still Better But I Enjoyed 2017 Jumanji too
Jason Michael Dickinson agree, 1995 version has more magic
Both were good films but you cannot beat the Robin Williams classic which in fairness had shit CGI but overall I loved it
Some of it has aged well as it came from the 90's what do expect?
Jurassic Park was released a year prior I believe.
I just came back from watching the new Jumanji and that's exactly my opinion as well. I loved this new movie but I still LOVE the original way better. Robin Williams is THE MAN.
jurassic park was released in 1993 actually. i'm a speilberg buff actually. And i will be watching the post this week.
I am a MINION!!!!! Yup no one could replace Robin Williams with his work. He was the king of impressions and that's what he was known for. RIP
i enjoyed both movies!!! original one was better imo
The pun master is back
Honestly, I liked both movies. The original is better since it's story is richer, touching on the more serious theme and was more memorable. Sure the original is better but I don't regret seeing Welcome to the Jungle.
2:23 lol subbed
The newest movies make the game look like a total joke. Alan Perish was absolutely scarred from being in the jungle as a young boy.
the first one was a childhood classic but honestly i had so much fun with the new one i think its actually kinda better and i dont just mean the effects
mk6rfc1 Agreed.
Your videos will never stop being hilarious! Hope you make it big in 2018.
1995 wins by a country mile. Much better story, much better focussing on the Alan character, and just a lot more heart, and more interesting cast. The only thing the 2017 film has is CGI and pyrotechnics... superficial.
Very underrated people should check his channel out
I know right?
Still think the original is the best, but still had a fun time with the new one
Just discovered your channel today and the hilarious jokes persuaded me to sub more or less instantly!
Michael Zervos Awesome! Thanks
Thank you for this video Adam. Been eagerly awaiting this 👍

"I'm not even above the lowest form of joke here"😆😆😆 I just subscribed!
The only draw for me to this movie is Karen Gillan. I can't take my eyes off her either.
jime6688 me either
jime6688
She is min
Marzett Roach you can have her

Recently found your channel, really like it. Thanks for the entertainment.
I love the new Jumanji’s with the Rock and Kevin, but it’s NEVER GONNA TOP THIS JUMANJI!!
R.I.P To the man that brought me childhood through his amazing characters in movies
Tbh this is not even a competition,Robin Williams Jumanji is the best hands down
Great job
I have to vote for the original.but the new one is still pretty good
She makes me want to "Jacket" too later lol . The Org was better in my book. Robin Williams FTW!
I think they're both great. I'm so glad I don't actually have to choose between them.
Original is best, took niece and nephew to new movie, not a "family" movie at all as far as the jokes I had to awkwardly try and explain .
You know who should direct the next Jumanji?
DAVID YATES
This years is just as good i think just in a completely different way.
I love your videos. Let’s make 2018 the year you break 1mil subs!
The first one was great, but I feel like it was just for kids. As an adult, it's a bit of a watch. The new one was a blast from start to finish and it was enjoyable for the kids and the adults.
Adam The Pun Master
Both were completely different. For me,both were good in their own ways.
I still pick the original but I have to give credit where credit is due. Instead of making a crappy remake/reboot they went for the sequel and in my opinion hit it right on the money. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

If people liked the sequel, then I hope the next movie they don't take it for granted.
Love your content it reminded to jacket after the video. Love your channel plse keep up the awsome fueds and the cringe.
you puns are bad man love it

Nice criticism.
You know, if people liked this sequel
then I hope they don't take the next sequel for granted
Welcome to the jungle was fun. The original was depressing, I just felt bad for the characters the whole time. If we knew time would be reversed at the end, the original would be a lot better. That is the same problem I had with Deadpool 2.
Great video. Keep "it up" Adam. Add another to the dick pun counter.
Uhhh the spiders in the original weren't cgi
Robots all of them
The "Rock" reference should of got 2 points
Both were good but I like Jumanji 1995
I don't understand when he says who plays and Atari? I FRIKIN GOT AN ATARI FOR CHRISTMAS AND I LOVE IT! Lol I love 80's stuff for some odd reason.
The biggest surprise of the year for me as i found it really good even though i was expecting some shitty remake.
I saw jumanji in theatres yesterday, and I loved it but there was a fight in the theatre
Best puns in the game
I love movie feuds
me too
I would have loved to see a real Jumanji sequel, where characters are sucked into the world of the 1995 Jumanji and have to survive. Missed opportunity.
Adam, you should do a "The Disaster Artist vs Ed Wood" episode.
I think the 2017 version is better.
emanuel rasekh I agree
Nah bruh the 2017 one is just of special effects with funny moments in it while 1995 is more serious and dramatic
95 jumanji is better
Naughty by nature 😂👌
I liked the 2017 version much better
How was your Christmas Adam?
In my opinion, the original Jumanji was way better!! I grew up watching the animated tv series, and therefore the 95's movie was more relatable for me. Although the new movie had a lot of good comedy elements, I think the story was stupid and it felt more like a spoof movie.
1980 And 1990 Are Classics
Well, thats the thing now. The going idea about film scoring is to write something not memorable. So its on purpose. Didnt say it isnt stupid. It is. Its really just directors who are insecure about the fact that pretty much all composers are more talented than them.
What do you think is was the scariest film of 2017
I love both but I think I like the 2017 film slightly more. Also, I love the puns in this video do it more often
jumanji 1995
I liked the new one but the classic is still my favorite
Robin Williams version is better.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the new Jumanji. I though all the video game references were pretty great like the repetitive NPCs and stuff. The dick joke did go on way too long though.
Can't say Welcome To The Jungle is better IMHO the first movie had the better characters and plot line
OG most of the time. However weirdly enough. I prefer the Remake Robocop
Has Adam been hittin the gym or is it my first time noticing
R.I.P robin
Prove it
How the fuk did the 2017 one get a higher score in reviews than the 1995 movie
because the reviewers didn't have any nostalgia goggles on, plus the reviewers that gave 2017 one higher are seeing 1995 if it still holds up.
I liked the sequel but I love the original.
I was born in 2004 so I liked the 2017 because of the actors I liked and the graphics I tried to go back and watch the old version but I couldn't I just couldn't understand the horrible graphics
who's the winner
I watched the movie yesterday in 4d
Let's face ot, 1995 has mainly Nostalgia going for it .
5:58 what ending that has to do with the original?
It had a nice bit of emotional weight to it. The original was full of that. That's all I was saying.
Are you serious
1995 is the best hands down
There's no comparison
This isn't a fair fight
2017 still good
But 90s YOU CANNOT BEAT THE 90s omg 😩😩😩
I bet the 60% of the ppl nvr actually seen the original
The first one was definitely better. Better story, better characters, character development, a great soundtrack and even some heartwarming moments. All the second film had going for it was action, explosions, and penis jokes. You know, the same typical crap from comedy films with no substance going for it.
2:17 I agree. 2:24 too
how many times is Jack Black going to play that character>?
The newer Jumanji looked like shit in the advertisement, but I actually liked it.
Hey I would play a classic console as love your reviews.
That New Movie Today In 2017 :(
Watched 2 movies over the holidays...
90s Jumanji was still better though. lol
I liked Welcome to the Jungle (stupid title) but it didn’t feel like the first Jumanji at all.
I mean, can you really watch jumanji 2017 and understand it without Robin Williams Jumanji? . New jumanji needs 95 jumanji to work more than 95 jumanji needs the new one.
1995 takes it
I like 2017 jumanji because we get to see where allen parrish lived in the jungle (spoiler) what the jungle looks like seeing the map of jumanji in the game at the end when they shout jumanji (spoiler) and to se there totems from the board game esspecially the elephant because that was allen parrishes totem and last but not least the special ability best movie of 2017
Saw it last night.....how are people liking this movie????
That was bad cinema.
what was bad about if?
l saw both jumaji's and their both great film
How is this a serious question?? The 2017 one was pure doo doo 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
fucking hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! adam i think i love you.........................LOL
Honestly, the new one is much better.
