That great news for you, but great news for Barbados (if not any other Island) is that Barbados re-establishes a National Bank. As of 2021-22 Financial Stabilities Report, we a total money supply of $26.7 Billion, five Privately owned foreign banks control 52% of that money supply. Sen. Walter in the Senate March 2024 stated we need $3.2 Billion for 2024, obviously for Public Works. Now if Barbados re-establishes a National Bank, our State can capture 1/2 of that $13+ Billion for our Nation. Does your Country or Island have it's own National Bank ???? We are weaker links. Having limited resources, why would you sell and lease Direct Revenue Generating Entities/Assets worth Billions (limited resources), then to be begging on the international borrowing market; would give up your means of earning direct revenue, then to be begging on the street ? That is what you should be promoting.
Thanks for the detailed comment! It may have been the case in the late 90s early 2000s, but in the digital age, there is more in the mortar than the pestle. Perhaps I'll do a blog on this in the not too distant future.
@@passionforcompliance, thank for the response. I said quite a bid, in my opinion. What "...may have been the case in the late 90s early 2000s", and what "...is more in the mortar than the pestle"? Whatever age or eon it is described, Barbados needs a National Bank to capture some of that $26.7 Billion for the benefit of Public Works, a responsibility that is not of the private sector. Why should it be a debate as to whether or not Barbados should be making its own money, generating its own revenue, such revenue that is needed for building and repairing schools, bridges etc ? Who is advocating for the Public ?

Only practical for new accounts. Existing account holders still suffering. And opening an account is still a three week appointment.
