For those wondering how to have the server behind a Cloudflare proxy (so your IP won't leak) only a handfull of ports are allowed through Cloudflare proxy so it is impossible to use 25565. And if you change the port to something other than 25565 players would need to specify that in their Minecraft clients which is probably something you don't want. So, yeah, not really possible.
Just did this today. and it worked with different ports. I have 4 servers running as a test and used different subdomains while it's proxied. Pinged the server. did wireshark. my ip was no where to be seen

In my network topology, I have a pfSense machine behind my router acting as a firewall while the router just purely tags VLANs and only routes. I had setup a port forward from my router to the pfSense machine and then another port forward from my pfSense machine to my proxmox machine (originally my TrueNas server - two separate machines). In pfSense, I also created a rule that allowed traffic originating from the WAN port on my non-standard minecraft port to pass through. I had then created an outbound 1:1 NAT rule just so I didn't have to muck with the dirty details due to pfSense being behind my router (Was a double NAT situation due to the setup). On the cloudflare side of things, I created another 'site' separate from the rest of my DNS records used and added this new site as a stub zone to my main DNS site. On the new site, I followed this video's walkthrough with the service record and A record setup and just repeated this *new site, new records* deal for the two other minecraft servers being hosted. If you want to make sure the site zone is proxied for the minecraft servers, I would recommend adding Spectrum to the mix, which I use since it spans across the multiple DNS zones and doesn't require multiple purchases for multiple zones. On proxmox, I had set up a reverse proxy to handle the different site domains and route them to the appropriate minecraft servers based on the domain they originated from. This way, my DNS records don't become too monolithic for my tastes and I can easily just swap over to the stub zones and change or view records that specifically have been made for those services. For the stub zones, I just used cloudflare's free plan as I really don't care too much about the domains I created for this use case as my main zone is where I apply all my page rules and the like. This setup was helpful due to only one port being open for minecraft but several servers being able to share that one port. Other than that though, without knowing what your network topology kind of looks like, I'm not too sure what could be different between the two setups.

So my only reasonable option is to pay monthly for ANOTHER domain which means I might as well just pay for a minecraft server hosting service for the convenience of having customer service and not ruining my business website just so my friends and i can play mc. Your website would still be hosted on host gator, however all DNS things would be managed through cloudflare. You'd need to ask hostgator for the website ip's which you'd then add in cloudflare DNS.
For some reason, it doesn't work. I tried several times and everything seems correct but it just says Unknown host and sometimes, if I try to connect, Minecraft crashes.

Ok, so I am trying to run two Minecraft servers on my home server machine. I set up this up EXACTLY as you explained it in the video, and still I need to attach :(port) to my freenom domain when I add the servers in a Minecraft client. Any suggestions to eliminate needing to do that? It's not a huge deal but it would be nice not to need that.

Ive got a paid domain, i followed the tutorial, but i need to use the port after the domain to make it work, i know i followed it perfectly, but it isint working.
