Actually, after hearing this interview, I have a feeling that Party Police may have also been kind of a satirical song-- sort of making fun of typical teenage/ young adult life, like how in Archie, Marry Me they are kind of poking fun at how young people rush to get married and live conventional lives. But that's just my take :)
I like her answer of how she doesn't like weddings, and that the song is actually of the opposite of what people might think, I could get lost in her eyes and trip on her singing ,Molly is like zen beauty :D
hold on, let's not be too hypnotized by attractive young ppl poopooing sacred institutions. people her age should be married and starting families. but that's why white people are plummeting in numbers because student loans ("archie") and nihilism. she hates weddings ...is she jealous of young poeple married?
Molly, and that girl from "Daughter" (Elena?), two of my favorite voices. If you've never listened to daughter, you should. A little difficult to "search" because there are so many variations. A newer personal favorite is warpaint, again pretty simple, straight female vocalists.
Saw them yesterday. She was making little quips and comments to the crowd in between songs and she talked so fast and her voice was so high and the complete opposite of this interview. Strange.
They don't feel the need to fake the "we're the best!!! (even though we know we really aren't)" vibe that much of mainstream America carries. Some parts of Texas, Cali, can be like that, too.
I love you Molly you are so cute and sweet and pretty and i am in love with you and your hair and your eyes and your nose and your ears and your neck and your eyebrows and your cheeks and etcetera ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Ms Rankin doesn't appreciate her latent bluesy tone. Kind of like a girl Morissey. A certain resignation if you will. It really makes this band's sound rise above the others. That and the baking female vocals.
I LOVE that they don’t like “I’ve Got a Feeling” by Black-Eyed Peas. Such a cash-grab (though a lot of the pop songs of that time are probably the worst songs, both musically and lyrically, that have come out since I was born) and it has no substance at all.
Well that's depressing. Here I was thinking that Molly was a nice young lady, and here she is spouting the echoberg meme of "marriage is a sham". Hope she grows up one day.
+JP Pope the difference between me and you is I think for myself and you clearly go off of other humans thoughts when it comes to this topic. True love is far greater than "marriage" and wouldn't or doesn't have to call for such a thing. If you don't get that then you don't get the level of love I'm speaking of
It's a sham. It's a legal formality. Two (or more, whatever's your arrangement) people could commit to each other for a lifetime without the government sticking their nose into it. That's all it is. People going, "Oh, I like you enough, so let's go into collective debt from taxation and ride a roller coaster of resentment until we're dead, then one of us gets the agony of handling final affairs. Screw marriage. Find the partner who really is your ride-or-die, tell them so. Treat them like so, put all the fancy jewelry you want on each other. Or, find the freedom to say, "I don't need anyone else in my life but myself. It's my destiny. Why commit to someone else when I can hardly handle myself?" Think about it.
She should take advantage of her looks when promoting her band. They might actually go somewhere in their career. Her onstage outfits are coma inducing BORING!
love when Molly starts subconsciouspy headbobbin to Van
"No sex vibes. Ever"
So good. Not wanting to be boxed into the expected celebrity female role.
Doesn't she mention finding comfort in debauchery in Party Police that's kind of sexual
Good point.
But I think she means on stage.
Totally, but I guess that ain't her scene.
Javier G Madrigal Jr. Alec looked a bit crestfallen though

She's so gorgeous

Guitarist knows his history of electric guitar sounds, he is awesome.
Molly thinks in metaphor: "It's about timing, like which wave brings you into shore". That's a songwriter.
Except that's a simile, not a metaphor.
@@olafbigandglad a simile is also a metaphor, just a particular type of metaphor that uses like or as.
They’re so awesome. Molly is such a queen.

I like their attitude. So chill
Perfect location for an interview.
Yessss -- The Smiths. Love it.
Can't believe they were in Dublin. I'd give an arm to see them live
Molly Rankin she is so cute😍😻❤️❤️
Boy, do they look tired

No sex vibes. That's what I genuinely liked in this band which is rare to find. Alvvays is the proof that wholesome is cool.

Saw them yesterday. She was making little quips and comments to the crowd in between songs and she talked so fast and her voice was so high and the complete opposite of this interview. Strange.

They both look like they just woke up. When they are not talking, they make a face like if something stinks in the room.

I also share your thoughts on not liking weddings.
Wearing his grandfathers glasses I see.
I bet Molly could pull off a helluva good Ciri cosplay if she tried haha
Why Canadians always look so chill

What Van Morrison song is playing in the background?
steveblakely Queen of the Slipstream
I love you Molly you are so cute and sweet and pretty and i am in love with you and your hair and your eyes and your nose and your ears and your neck and your eyebrows and your cheeks and etcetera ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Her family get togethers sounded like mine when I was younger. We weren't offered any nickles and dimes or bananas though!
Ms Rankin doesn't appreciate her latent bluesy tone. Kind of like a girl Morissey. A certain resignation if you will. It really makes this band's sound rise above the others. That and the baking female vocals.
Nice Parquet Courts shirt
Major art,minor attitude very refreshing🙂
Michelle Williams as a pop star! LOL
We try so hard to be hip, but I must say they are good
Nice parquet courts shirt

*watches first 20 seconds of video* OMG DOES HE EVEN BLINK
I think he’s just really high
They look very similar.
i spy with my little eye a serial killer
why so sad?
Why not?
marry me, Molly!
Dude he looks like pewdiepie XD
He taught pewdiepie the n word.
love the band
Gosh no we’re not a band
Palease
💋❤🔥
I think having multiple partners is being debunked, never seen it work for any thing.
She didn't say anything about having multiple partners
i mean alec looks high
Nice, eh?
He's certainly got a thousand-yard-stare thing going on. Like he's seen some sh*t. The parts where the video goes black-and-white just enhances it.

She looks like The OA.
i dont kow about you guys but looks high
Nice, eh?
Parquet Courts
Is she a real blonde. That can't be the real colour of her hair. She must have lost the bet.
Steve Melling Her hair looks gray or silver which would seem unnatural for a 27-year-old, though I have heard that gray hair is "in style" now
her natural hair colour is brown. watch some of Molly Rankins old live music
No.
(If you were asking a question: I write that because there was no question mark)
so weird all this styled like our cultures
I don’t know if she’s being a liar about sex vibes. Even though their music sounds great generally and out of it. Love her voice in next of kin.
She's way too hot for that guy!
Well that's depressing. Here I was thinking that Molly was a nice young lady, and here she is spouting the echoberg meme of "marriage is a sham". Hope she grows up one day.

It is a sham
Why should a piece of paper have to stamp your love for someone?
