If season 2 picks up after the time skip they could show how easy water bending was for Aang to learn, so when Toph starts teaching him earth it's shown to be a more difficult element to do compared to water.
I really wish that Netflix would add specials like in the Walking Dead on top of 6-8 episodes since of the original episodes were market as such when it had air on Nick. It create hype and have the regular episodes be used to build up to the specials. Marvel did it with the Avengers.
Toph was one of my favorite characters in the animation.... Please don't ruin this character like you did with all the other Characters.... The Netflix - Adaptation was "OK" but nothing more!!!
