Very interesting. We live near Perry County in Ohio and the Amish have a dinner/auction , open to the public, ever summer to support their school. We've never been to the auction, in the same barn/building, but often go to get a dinner, excelent home cooked food!! Very nice friendly people!
Fyi I didn’t buy anything, but I sure tried. Lol, some of those Yoder’s had more money than I had and those old Yoder grandmother recipes were obviously worth a lot of money, but I wasn’t loaded like some of the others to buy them so we went home with nothing lol.😂😂😂😂
Yoder is from Joderhuebel in Bern, Joder's hill aka Theodujoder / Theodore's hill, Hübel I guess. my Forney ancestors surname is from Fahrni / Varne in Bern. there are a number of surnames from Bernese place names! Torch of Christ ministries also is in Bern street preaching!
Eli you are definitly a Cousin of all swiss Joder descent people! all from the (at least) Medieval Joder family of some point and a Cousin to many Amish Yoders by probably your Penn. Yoder Ancestry already instead of having to trace back to 🇨🇭 for the common Ancestor! now who is Joder? St. Joder? or some Ancestor or not so closely related man?
@@EliNikkiYoder I just passed a sign on m57 heading west that said Yoder auction. Was that one of the ones that you're family does? Around the same area I see a lot of Amish people, we usually see an Amish dude riding a bike with one arm
Youther, Youder, Yotter, Yoder, Joder, maybe other spellings but yeah its a possible place-name-of an ancestor Surname by being from a place that has a mans name in it, but likely this is the famous St. Joder in my opinion, as to who the Joder in Joderhuebel (yo-der-huu-bell) is
@@barbarasakamoto7372 more than half the babies are miscarriages and stillborn babies, and if you look in the Amish cemetery more than half the tombstones say stillborn babies or miscarriage on them because we didn’t go to the doctor for anything so you either live or you die and if you die, they just bury you and move on and start making another baby
You two are lookin’ good! Glad you were able to go and catch up with family.
