All of these stories make me afraid to get married and start a family. But no matter what happens to me, I know Jesus made it happen for a reason.. And he would never hurt me. :)
Bless Madilyn. It doesn’t matter the age. Divorce is gut and soul wrenching. Love her honesty and pray for her and all others who suffer thru this. Having been thru two divorces I would not have wished on anyone - Turn to God. Grieve but hang in there. Healing does eventually come.

I just heard this beautiful song for the first time, as one who experienced divorce and the pain of losing the one you love to other places, I really felt that. Its a tough part of life for sure but I also know Heavenly Father is there to lift you up when you feel you can't go on. Thanks for sharing the thoughts and feelings of so many that share this story.
I felt emotional from the song in the middle of the song, real sad, her parents got a divorce which is heartbreaking for her, I have hopes that she may be joy again, amen

Been there myself. Fortunately there was healing, my conversion to the gospel and another chance of marriage and children (40 yrs now) waiting for me on the other side. 🩷
May we have of such Great things lost. In that has been lost be unto Jesus Christ's goodness and mercy; in Love, and Light, and Life. Bawling. My parents divorced too. First when I was 5, then my stepdad and mom again when I was a young mom with a newborn of my own. Both times left me broken. I can imagine her pain going through this with her family. This song is really sad, but times like these make me happy to have the atonement. Christ doesn't only heal the pain from sin but also the pain from others choices. He can put our hears back together.

Well, to see your parents breaking up it's not easy, sometimes it might be too deep psicologically and emotional growing up without one of them is hard but thank to God we are still here, talking about financial things it really mattered because you were without financial support and also your feelings were so bad, the Miracle here keep it up, never give up even those issues I told it's easy to get depress or Sad but It's the easy way the hard way it's to push yourself and to get over that, in the name of Christ Jesus, Amen!

Thanks Madilyn. We are enough. Not that we are enough on our own but with the atonement of Jesus Christ, His redeeming and sanctifying power, we are made enough. He will do this for us and asks we just receive Him and His sacrifice for us.

Hurting someone you love out of spite, in my opinion, is pure evil. Often. Too often, we feel hurt, and the other didn't mean to hurt. If you can learn to stop, think, and not respond in anger, you might save your marriage.
I once heard someone say, "Would you rather be right, or would you rather be married." And then the marines say, 'Is this the hill you want to die on." which means, is this such an important argument that you're willing to lose everything over it?
"Eternal" is more than a nice word. It's actually forever, too.
Using the atonement in marriage is so crucial for both a man and woman. I did, it is life and heart changing.

Very nice song I guess we have to come to the church site to hear wonderful music. Can't find it on the radio anymore those people have lost the tune it's too bad. Some of their music on the radio I'm surprised they could get a recording contract. I can't sing kind so I depend on dead people with music a tune and their heart bacon Express. So I quit listening to the radio ! I love these songs of inspiration!

I'm sorry you're hurting so much. I'm hurting so much too. I've lost a couple family relationships that I can never replace. They stopped loving me. Thank you for sharing your song.
I can't pretend to totally understand, but these women or men, moms or dads, that leave their whole family behind....it's not about losing love for their children, it's about something numb yet selfish that happened inside them. They may claim they left for some love out there, but there is no possible way to love something greater while in the same moment leaving your children. There is a mental and emotional break that needs to be repaired inside of them whether they know it or not. Children should never blame themselves that they weren't loved, (although it's incredibly hard for them to know...because they are the child) because it wasn't the child, it was the adult that had something wrong or chaos inside manifest...its not a child's fault, no matter what. The parent at this point lost the capability to love, (temporarily possibly or always is a case by case basis) not that they stopped loving you. Do you see? Don't blame yourself, it wasn't you. So instead of saying, "they don't love me anymore", you might say, "my mom (or dad) lost the capability to love". You are more than worthy to be loved! So it's them, not you, you see?

Beautifully sung, however the complications of a divorce are very difficult to understand. After having gone through a divorce, I counseled my kids to not judge their parents. In fact, we are told not to judge. I believe our limited insights can get us into difficulty. There is only one perfect judge. As you can see from the comments, many have judged the father in negative ways as a result of the words of the song. Yes it is sad that divorce and problems are part of this life, but when we judge, we make it worse. Healing is not found in judgement, but in forgiveness. Lets learn how to love as God loves us and forgive so we can grow and heal.
Regardless of if this is the exact story of her family this is the story of many and is an enlightened perspective and a call to strength for men everywhere
Marty, Instead of worrying about how your kids are judging you, help them process the 💩 load experience you just put them through.. everyone reacts differently, whether that be through writing your feelings down or singing em.. It sounds like you felt the weight of this song and decided to get all “In fact we are told not judge blah blah” lol Did you find it enough?”

Actually we have to make judgments all time. The scriptures say “judge not unrighteously”
We judge who becomes our friends - who we work for - who we date - who we holiday with - who babysits our kids etc etc
