Was convinced you'd be saying "I miss the comfort of my SAS", but still wanting one on top of the SAS says a huge amount about the bike. Also, huge cudos - did 280 miles on my SAS yesterday and felt a bit achey, so doing what you did on the SD and still having a smile on your face says a lot :)
That was exactly what I was expecting too! I'm normally similar on my SAS after around 250-300 miles so doing 350+ on this, I was expecting to need a wheelchair ha!
i'll save you the hassle, he does a few miles around the UK, Giggles a bit, Eats far too much food, and gets moist, then the star of the show Mick was in this episode so basically you've watched the best episode
Great Video really enjoyed them all, the only comment I have is MRA I have used it for a few years, done the NC500, WAW, and Picos with many short weekend trips with no problems, I do not want to say user error but ....
Haha it may well be user error.. many people say it's fantastic. I tried using it on 2 different Android auto devices and my phone since getting home and it just crashes, loads constantly, won't load routes, and probably works 20% of the time. It reaaaallly annoyed me as you could tell ha
@@SamVBikes I know the AA is a work in progress and it does have regular updates but we have three in our group using it and for another few, I export GPX files for their Tomtoms
It would be odd to think that their own route planner could be causing it, but the only routes I've had work have been exported GPX files from TomTom or BaseCamp. The ones made in the MRA planner never worked
@@SamVBikes I use Maps from MCN Rides and Ride magazines GPX files but 80% come from the MRA library and I then adapt them to the route I'm planning two have Samsung and one has iPhone
Hi Sam, nice upload, that's an amazing bike for the distance you've covered in comfort, not what i was expecting from it! Your kit has stood up well too, a good advertisement for everything here!
@@SamVBikes it looked like a lot of fun too, the most I can testify to is just over 800 miles in one hit on my old xj750, back in my youth. It's great fun taking on epic bike journeys but I couldn't do that now! 😂
@@SamVBikes my butt, knees and shoulders would be screaming at me now! 😂 I used to live on my bike in those days and, you're right, you have to be bike fit to take on big rides like you just did on the Duke. I'm keeping an eye on Honda's E-Clutch with interest as the arthritis is creeping into my hands. It's a great gadget that may well help keep older people on bikes longer.
@michaelmclarney1994 haha! Time then gets in the way and you don't get time to increase your bike fitness! I'm definitely interested to see what the e-clutch is like. Having that in London would be a dream
What gloves you wearing at the moment Sam? Struggling with the raynuads already so was eyeing up the roadskin winter gloves before the heated gloves are needed. Short fingers doesn't help either with certain brands 😅
I've got both the Halvarssons Ljusdal and Flon gloves which are pretty much my go-tos. The Flon are summer gloves and the Ljusdals are mid season waterproof gloves. In the depths of winter I'll switch back to the Gerbing heated ones though!
@@SamVBikes BLUE CHEESE!!! Now you're really making me hungry. I was an over the road truck driver and had the opportunity to visit quite a few cheese factories in Wisconsin. Picked up some Black River Falls blue cheese that won a few 1st place awards. It was delicious.
Got to love the A39, was back down that way this week... and wishing for dry roads as well!
Haha! The dry roads element makes it for such a better experience!

What a day that was !!! Great series bro! Roll on some more trips !
Thank you mate! And appreciate you making such a valiant effort just to watch me (not) do sh*t wheelies and blast off
I NEED to catch up on ALL of these!!!!
Book out your morning tomorrow, get a brew on!

Cracking ride I love these long pointless rides too haha
It's official research... probably 😂
@@SamVBikes haha that’s great. I’m doing a pointless ride the 1st. I will be doing the NC500 in one hit.
Enjoyed that series. Looks like you caught some terrible weather though! Good gear saves the day!
Thank you! Yes I'm definitely happy for decent gear. Makes it that little bit less miserable in the heavy rain
@@SamVBikes or you’d of been wetter than an otters pocket! 🤣
😂😂😂
Love baffle haus! I’m gutted I didn’t get the mug! Was there before someone got it but I forgot to look 😫

That sounds amazing! A good, strong melted cheese in a burger is brilliant! Some of those really nice ones need a plate of their own
