Always liked the Doxa design. But can’t justify spending a lot of money on a real one, and apparently, a real one has weak lume, which is something you wouldn’t expect on such an expensive watch. Enter the Seestern, what a good looking homage! Thanks for the helpful review, it’s on my wish list now!
I had a tactical frog come in last week. I liked it but decided to sell it locally and buy a seestern. The AliExpress gentleman I was chatting with said I got one out of the last 4 he had in stock. Looking forward to receiving it. I chose the orange version.
Tell me about it! Been wanting a Doxa for years but im not willing to drop $2,400 while saving for my grail. After watching 3 reviews on the Seestern and hearing people rave about them, i pulled the trigger tonight in the Orange Sub 300.
The V2 has a lume pip on the bezel. A very nice homage. There's not much difference in visibility between the black and orange at depth, the black might get lost more than the orange but it's the hour markers you need to see! The V2 also comes with the silver sunburst "Searambler" option. Very nice finishing and attention to detail and fabulous bezel action.
I was going to get it in Orange. Can you tell me a little bit about how the mop looks. I only want one watch and I thought maybe the orange was more eye-popping but please let me know all about the m o p. Thanks ray
@@wed265 the MOP is beautiful. As you turn the watch, it ranges from black, to Grey, to iridescent Grey with hints of blue. Really stunning. And tge bracelet is top notch. I ordered it from the Seestern store, as it was slightly less expensive there. I've just ordered their 38mm 62 Mas, because I liked the Doxa homage so much.
Excellent review as usual, both in terms of information and entertainment. I was mostly considering going for their 62mas at the 11.11 sale but damn it, this looks so tempting as well. I agree on the hour hand, but I guess we have to live with the original design. Usually I think divers with cushion cases or the likes of Cpt. Willard etc looks best on rubber straps, like you showed with those great looking ones you have. But this bor bracelet suits this watch so damn well.
Great tongue-in-cheek review, as always, for a great looking watch. Doxa; the watch of choice for Dirk Pitt in the Clive Cussler novels. The Seestern is more in keeping with the original, than the Tactical Frog, which has to be a miss.
Just pre-ordered version 2, black dial and now with lume pip. I have the version 1 MOP dial, and the lume pip should fix one of the main flaws on this watch.
Great review Dan. I really like this watch. Seestern is making some very nice pieces and this one in particular is very cool. Love the pastel blue color. Overall a thumbs-up 👍👏👊
Well done kiddo great vidio... I was going for the tactical frog version but I've changed my mind after watching your vlog... Great watch excellent value for money Iam going for the light blue dial.... Awsome 👍
The watch is fantastic for that price. Unfortunately yellow and light blue color ways aren't available. I do love the mother of pearl black-ish dial available for $20.00 more. Your straps compliment this watch greatly. Looks like I'll be doing some shopping! Excellent video!!
Great watch I will start saving right now. Hopefully by then they will release applied indices display and correct the non centered date window. Really needed! Great colour choice Dan.
Great video Dan. Managed to drop in for a few minutes on the live stream. The yellow is gorgeous though I think I might go for the blue, as I've a yellow dial Steeldive tuna. The straps are great, definitely prefer the two black ones. Just a thought I have a yellow rubber strap on my Steeldive and it's a real head turner. Maybe a yellow fkm strap would be stunning on this watch, as well as ones to match the other colours!
Seestern also have a problem with a misaligned date wheel on the first iteration of their 62mas homage (which is otherwise fantastic), it seems a little more care was needed when designing the dials (unless they were originally going to use a different mechanism perhaps?). Good to know they are aware of the issue, acknowledge it, and are already changing it. A company which listens to feedback and performs actions based upon it are going to succeed. Great review of a very nice watch.
@@matt4398 I prefer them on almost any watch. Just pick up any watch, set the time, and go - no messing about with date. I do think if a date is on a watch that the 6 o’clock is best for dial balance. Agree that misaligned wheels trigger my OCD!

Do you think by November 11th they would have worked out some of the Kinks and changed it like the date wheel to the left also those little lines coming off of 12 ,3, 6 and 9 a little bit longer. I think they should have put seestern automatic on the top left and put 200m professional on the bottom right. The indices should be a little darker on the outside like the original doxa. What are your thoughts on what I asked. Ray usa
Hi Ray thanks for your kind words. I haven't heard on how soon any updates would be made, but even the current iteration is fantastic and apparently selling really well. I can see why ! It's going on my recommendation list when i do the 11.11 sale video. ☺

great review, very witty but I personally don't like the watch. Not sure many people actually use watches for timing dives these days. Also have you considered sourcing clasps on your ebay store? I could do with (as could many others) with decent replacements for the pressed claps on stuff like my Seiko's. keep up the good work!

White indices and black dial is very visible underwater. The highest visibility color is bright yellow/green neon, higher vis than orange in the dark.
All "milled" clasps are stamped out, just like cases, movement plates etc. I like that it uses pins instead of the stupid screws on the bracelet.
