Vaalacha Birdha recipe | CKP speciality - Waalacha Birdha | Valache birde | Fava been curry

Walacha Birdha is a CKP speciality made with typical fava beans called as Kadve Vaal. Here I have shared a traditional method of making Waalacha Birdha. It is very tasty curry and tastes best with steamed rice.
Ingredients
1) Kadve waal for soaking - 1cup
2) Onion chopped - 1/2cup
3) Coconut paste as required
4) Masala
5) Kokum - 3 to 4
6) Jaggery - 1tbsp
7) Green chilli - 1
8) Red chilli powder - 2tsp
9) Turmeric powder - 1/4tsp
10) Asafoetida - 1/4tsp
11) Salt to taste
12) Oil - 2tbsp
13) Coriander leaves (chopped) for garnishing
For masala
1) Cumin seeds - 1tsp
2) Ginger - 1/4inch
3) Garlic cloves - 3 to 4
4) Onion - half
