Fascinating use of historical references of students of Chopin combined with the linguistic insights into Polish and the reference to B major as a key of love make this tutorial unbelievably outstanding. Of course the idea of creating characters and scenes up to help with interpretation is simply great. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for this lecture, its one of your best. This is my first mazurka and I'm learning it to play as one of my three high school performance pieces. The story hidden behind the music is amazing, and it helps me decipher the meaning of this mazurka so much better. Thank you so much!! This really really helps!

I'm learning this lovely piece for a summer school. I regard it as the best Chopin mazurka, and, at around six minutes, I believe it is also the longest.

    • @gregniemczuk

Yes,.one.of.the.longest. op. 56 has also.long.ones. it's also.one of my favorite. Good luck with that!!! Thanks for watching my video

Beautiful interpretation and beautiful performance at the end. You must be a very good storyteller to make all the different characters come alive! We should nickname this piece the “ghost” mazurka after you

I just started to practice this one and I love the way you explain how and why we should play the repeated part differently. Never thought of that before. You are a wonderful teacher!

11:33 was beautiful... What's it named? I've got a quite big knowledge in classical music, especially in the Romantic sector, but this piece is new for me...

Why do you think the score asks for hand crossover (5:50)?. I have tried it both with and without and personally found it easier without the crossover

Well, in the end it's the question of how it sounds. So if it works better for you, no problem. That's how it's written in my edition but I'm not that much conservative.
