    It's simple power = voltage x current

      basically intensity multiplied by desire

      As a retired electronics engineer, I can only wish that the world as logical as the humble electron. ;)

      @@dalilou lol. To be honest I agree. ;) I may have taken the analogy a little too far. But I find the logic of electronics...comforting.

      lol
      [yet that is only an external model applied after the "fact"]
      u made your executive choice about what it "means" to you[and comedy a la electric flow be it]
      But this, too, eludes a fixed ontological arrangement.
      Who wrote it this way first?
      Point still goes to J.
      You are fun, tho

    What an excellent summation of the 4 discourses! Can't believe you did it in 11 minutes!

    The clearest explanation of the four discourses I have heard so far, thanks so much! 🙏

    Would you ever consider covering the topological/chiasmic variations of the four discourses as described by Žižek and Lacan? It would be a wonderful supplement for this video imo!

    I like how when you see an analyst (or teacher or doctor maybe), you invest them with this perverse authority, which their ethic does not allow them to assume (no countertransference!). And without a professional self-policing, people really are at the mercy of their therapists

    • @letdaseinlive
      @letdaseinlive 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I never did that. This is like an explanation of how dumb people are. Sure, they are the arrogant majority. I just judge by what people are. Zizek and Lacan are dumb and focus on their own powerful dumbness without a breath for intelligence.

    • @txikitofandango
      @txikitofandango 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So paradoxically capitalism produces the conditions for psychoanalysis, but the practitioners must assume an earlier guild ethic, or maybe they can sublate their position somehow. Sorry for all the jargon

      @txikitofandango Einstein said the only person should trust enough to be open with is your Dr.
      I'd put teachers, poltical class and police and other authority roles under that of a Dr.

      u like that, huh?
      Not sure you are getting value as much as a bounce board for convoluted and melted versions of interpreted mirror images
      from these otherwise put and elegant, always, presentations.
      But nice typical internet knowitall gibberish phrasing.
      I 'like' that....

    I wouldn’t call what the scientist does “power”. They’re not inventing some mystical discourse about there being a higher truth that only they can read, in order to grab power. For one, science actually does work: Hence, we have medicine and satellites, etc. Also, scientists are very open about their methods and allow anyone to check. Or am I missing the point? Would genuinely appreciate it if I’m getting it wrong and someone could clarify

    Made me think of so much: "kenosis"- the self-emptying of Jesus.... of Mindfulness practices which encourage the development of a "non-judgmental observer" within ...., of the slightly dissociative feeling that comes with taking any action at all.. (St Augustine: "to act is to sin") , the comfort of being an academic "know-it all" with no skin in the game.
