I've considered this music as pretty much a reward for just barely suffering through winter. Yep it's that good.
Winter in ROG is actually alright imo. Summer can go fuck itself

Man, as upbeat the main part of this music is, the supporting instruments are so friggin' well done in conveying how dangerous spring can be.
People complain when it rains in Breath of the Wild, clearly they haven't met true pain during Spring in Don't Starve.

I actually find RoG Spring much more calm than DST Spring, the rains aren't so long, Moose/Goose is really easy to kill, and I havent got any frog rain in my first spring

well, the surroundings and atmosphere will continue on I suppose. And plus, you can still hear the surroundings so it means you could get attacked in the middle of listening to the music.
I think it almost adds. It's some juxtaposition, mixing a happy song with a creepy game.
People are forgetting that this plays while you're doing labor-ish tasks. It adds a rhythm to what you're doing, makes it feel good. You're doing it to survive and look after yourself, so the speed is like "Gotta get stuff, gotta get stuff, suns running away."
I love that feeling.
Basically, the largest portion of the game turns out to be the foraging. In order to keep the foraging from being a bother they needed an upbeat, catchy song to use to keep foraging tasks from feeling like a chore. And, like ***** said, 'It adds a rhythm to what you're doing, makes it feel good', so you can get into your own tempo while making sure you can live to see tomorrow. But I think the real success of the atmosphere is that it subtly lets you know you that you aren't alone. That things will start to change. To notice you, and hunt you. But it leaves a cheerfully fake sense of relief from that horrid fact, until the spiders and the hounds and the trees try killing you.
