Just basic tools few sockets i think 9/16 to disconnect power on batters , 1/2 racher to lose belt from upper tensioner m14 to remove belt tensioner 2 bolts , and don't remember about bolts size on alternator bolts 18m or so (before you tray if you doing yourself make sure you have only 3 bolts holding alternator if you have 4th bolt one under air intake manifold recommend to go to some shop) if have 3 is ok for you to change . snap picture for wire position don't mix position of 2 thin wires on alternator for remote sense . Be careful to not twist of bolts from alternator .
My 2007 Volvo VNL truck is doing the same thing not airing up I changed The air dryer and it was building up to 125 psi but will release the air all the way back down to 90 psi and build back up so I change the governor and it was working for a few days now all of a sudden it won't be able air at all I didn't try to rev the engine up sometimes that work but what I unhook the discharge line air is coming out but it's not strong air it's weak I'm going to try that break cleaner thing maybe I got build up on there and it's too weak to put out the air

You probably have too much blow-by on compressor if is volvo? First find and fix all air leaks around . Make sure if you have air check valve ( one way valve ) it is holding pressure and not returning to compressor some air dryers are acting as valve to not let air go back to compressor . Look for time of purging valve cycle it need be over 5 min -5-7-8 more is better it so many other things to look for .
@@bctruckservice6561 yes is volvo fh12 460 '03 , i work with this truck 8 years , and always was a problem with compressor because the pistons broke the cylinder head , i changed many cylinder head and 2-3 times the compressor , but the problem with oil in air instalation is unsolved , thanks
im getting low coolant message and shuts off and also air cant hold pressure after 2hrs ,looks like my air compressor is putting excessive pressure in the coolant tank

yes most volvo truck have sot off valve to close fuel tank some of them have one some 2 you need to close bot fuel lines return and supply in order to truck run ,tinnier hose is return line bigger is supply
Remove discharge pipe/hose and see if you have any pressure its possible to have clogged discharge air line going to air dryer . If no pressure its bad compressor of there is good pressure bad discharge hose. You can tray to spray some wd40 to blue line side connector on head.

Why would something like this occur ? Mines did the same thing .

you can test this problem but probably bad injector cups if newer done before , 2nd option is air compressor ....

Getting no air, air gauges read zero psi, followed video, removed hose and sprayed, still not airing up, what do you think?
