This was a crime of a fistbump At least Mew2King and PPMD's hands actually touched decently well, the only problem was they gave a flimsy hand. aMSa and Hungrybox's fists hardly even touched, and it looked so weird how Hbox's fist was sideways on top of aMSa's fist which was vertical
This matchup is so interesting and I'm glad we are seeing it a lot more. It's between one character with an aerial dash dance and the other with an aerial crouch cancel.
aMSa really showing that he could viably be rank 1 threat. Major consistency in wins over the best players in the world makes a big deal. Can't wait to see him at Panda finals- OH WAIT
I'm not a melee nerd but I'm pretty sure it missed due to the Y axis. I can't explain it well but I'll try. So smash is a 2-D fighter because they are stuck on moving up down to left and right, it's platformer like tradition mario bros. But it uses 3-D models. So if a fighter slides slighty out of the Y-axis point where another fighters moves would usually hit, it will miss. It is very rare, but to see a good example, look up "Yoshi's taunt Y-axis Smash Brawl". Sorry I'm don't very good at articulating the game of smash
Hell yeah aMSa! He continues to demonstrate just how good Yoshi can be. His movement, his kill options, all on display against one the best. The god of all us Yoshi-mains. (also that dunk at 3:01 JAAAAAYZUS!! I spilled my drink😂😂)
Amsa seems like Hbox new demon - Yoshi parrys very much everything on Puff and can even parry thru rest - Amsa has this insane flow chart if Hbox rest kills him or miss rest , he just go for this punish that can lead to high % or 0 to death - On the counter pick wars , Hbox cant really go to his Dreamland stage due to Amsa timing him out - If you choose a stage with platforms you are giving Yoshi tools to tech , drop shield and more recovery options. - But if you choose a flat stage like FD you can run into having a harder time getting in - Amsa shielding is next level , he knows how to move fast , the intereaction , the power shields , and more
It’s crazy because it’s a battle of the last titans of their respective characters. The only person who plays Jigglypuff at a semi high level besides Hbox is 2Saint, and I cant name a single other yoshi player besides Amsa.
@Trololo231 No , Amsa is a bit opposite than Hbox. While Hungrybox straight up does not play friendlies to give info , Amsa does it with players who are very good against low tiers like Moky and Plup. Also he does lots of friendlies with the AZ gang like Axe and Eggstinction. Amsa plays friendlies for the MU and to improve his mind games , but his tech like parries and perfect power shields are while he is labbing.
19:36 this up throw was so dumb .every time Hbox upthrew aMSa just floated away. He lost a stock for it . Muscle memory + not preparing for yoshi = this
Hbox has had success sharking Amsa with up throw in past sets this year that he won, so I understand why he goes for up throw, since there is no combo throw option. But amsa did a much better job of getting back down from the air without getting sharked this set.
you don"t always up throw to combo into upair or rest in the puff ditto for example you do up throw because it's easier to catch the landing of you're opponent from below and puff's upair beat most descending option even falco's dair. Don't know how much that is applicable to the yoshi's mu tho.
@@dragvrallass1658 it’s the same idea against Yoshi or most floaties who have trouble getting down from the air, up throw into sharking them with up airs works well against Yoshi, Samus, Pikachu, marth, etc. I have found.
I love how playing against aMSa is about learning Yoshi gimmicks, but aMSa is so sick, he invents new things for every tourney he's in. Once you get the feeling others caught up to his stuff, he kicks into the next gear
HBox and Amsa are some of my favorites in the game and their continued refinement of their characters is really fun to watch. I'm so happy for Amsa that he can fight HBox and Mango at this level, you love to see pioneers of their character actually making it to the top level and being a significant threat. So proud of him.
Amsa being so good and being so good with yoshi specifically, has changed the top 10 meta. Like your bracket can be completely ruined if amsa is in your run. It seems like hbox is lost in the matchup, not saying that he isn't a god, but like, hes figuring it out as he goes? Same with so many foxes that end up vs amsa
It just feels like he had such a good read on it earlier this year, but with the jetlag debuff gone from Amsa that seems like a huge change in the mu. I don't know how much of it exactly was jet lag or HBox knowing the mu at the time or anything, but in the later half of the year it's changed drastically. Like, I think HBox is 0-2 or 0-3 with Amsa recently, starting at least since TBH10. If that rest hadn't been armored it'd be a completely different story. I don't want to call him another bracket demon yet, but sheesh. HBox may still firmly be top 5 now but at this rate he's 5th behind Zain, Mango, IBDW and now arguably Amsa. (Leffen's been good, don't get me wrong, but his lack of appearances hurts him. I think he's probly #6-8 with Plup and Jmook.) (it's also insane to think that, aside from Low Tide which he DQ'd at the start and Double Down which he DQ'd after getting top 8, this is only his third non-top 4 finish I know of this year--Genesis 8, CEO, and here. Every other time he's been 1-4.) EDIT: Also, can we say RTC rest's are viable with that ending to game 1? That looked like a hard/good tech-in-place read to me, and they've been dogging him most of the tourney for whether or not HBox was really incorporating them into his play. I'm not asking for people to be scared yet, just to stop saying he's not doing them. It'll still take a bit of time before he's at the scary level.
I love aMSa, I LOVE seeing aMSa play against hbox (maybe new favorite player MU), but I fear for aMSa’s lead. Juan is a legendarily incredible player, and I don’t expect him to stay so staunchly negative in record against him much longer.
