    When it comes to getting bbs stuck in the spring, my friend had that same issue and i took two tweezers and fiddled with the bb and i managed to pop it out through the bb hole so it is possible but you will have to move the bbs into place with a very small and thin tool. you will definitely need to sandwich the bb in between your two tools or else it will move when you try to pop it out of the bb hole. Now if your bb manages to get to the very bottom of the spring then i don’t believe that you will be able fix it but as long as it doesn’t get stuck at the very bottom of the spring then you can fix it

    If your sitting at the table and jawing with the wife while your loading her mag and you inadvertently shove a BB into the spring, it's not wrecked. Simply take the screw out that holds the spring into place and take the spring out. Once the spring is out you can remove the BB's from it without damage. I've been working on scuba gear for years. Sometimes when you have a pressure leak the o ring needs to be replaced. For a BB gun, take the offending ring to your local hardware store. You can probably find a replacement for less that 25 cents 'Merican .

    Hey bro came across your video and it’s cool. I don’t have any issues with the three magazines I have so far but I’ve only shot maybe 10,000 bbs. Which rifle do you have? I was thinking of giving the rifle a good cleaning but can’t settle on which product to use? Everyone says to use silicone spray or something like that but can’t find one that’s just silicone? Do you break it down when you clean yours or how do you exactly do it? Thanks

    • @RWMAirgunsmithing
      @RWMAirgunsmithing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aye, a couple drops of silicone oil in the bolt carrier and on the seals should be enough to keep it lubed. I usually will just wipe everything down with a papertowel until it wipes clean then give everything a sheen with silicone oil, then one drop on each seal and one drop on one of the springs in the fcg. Many will say you dont need to clean the barrel on an airgun but I pass a cleaning cloth regularly and you can definitely see a difference when you shine a light before and after. These things seems to run regardless xD I am just missing an R1 right now.
      Dont use the spray stuff, those are usually industrial grade with additives, get regular crosman silicone oil or the rws bottle with the extended spout thingy.
      Edit : yes i do perform a basic field strip to clean everything

      Are you pulling straight down? Unlike a real one they dont require to clip in at an angle.
      Seems like there is a streak of bad mags out there, you are the 3rd in the past couple weeks with a stuck mag. Can you confirm there are no bbs wedged between the mag and the inner barrel?

    My mag has a problem in the top of the magazine the thing that does the blowback randomly snapped and theres a gold circle and now the blowback now shooting semi auto or full auto and i have to manually charge the slide what do i do

    • @RWMAirgunsmithing
      @RWMAirgunsmithing  ปีที่แล้ว

      There should be a black rubber seal between your gold part and the broken part. I would guess the air pressure is escaping in too many directions and doesn't have enough energy to push the BCG all the back forcing you to charge it for every shot.

  • @dregnr51
    @dregnr51 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Idk if it'd be the solution or not but I got the crosman ak1 BB gun and while reloading I accidentally dropped the magazine and it still works but it's just harder to take in and take out and was wondering what the problem could be. It looks perfectly fine except at the top of where the BB fires, there's tiny tiny dents on it and a tiny bit of the rubber where the firing pin of the rifle hits is poking out just a tiny bit and was wondering how I could exactly fix it

    • @RWMAirgunsmithing
      @RWMAirgunsmithing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have an ak1 in the mail, ill see what the mag looks like next week. For sure though any deformed part might create additional friction in the magwell. Wish i could see the condition of your rubber piece, if it's not damaged and just sticking out you need find a way to re-seat it.

    • @RWMAirgunsmithing
      @RWMAirgunsmithing  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Excluding the dropped mag part..... lol
      From comments from other viewers I can relate that the problem of the ak mag not dropping free stems from a valve problem in the mag that causes the valve to jam in the "chamber". So you need to empty the co2 and relieve the pressure on the mag valve so it can drop free.
      Hope this helps, sorry it took so long, you can contact crosman and hope they replace the mag.

    So my issue with three different magazines is the hammer splitting the valve cover in two. Forgive my lack of technical knowledge and description here..basically on the top of the magazine facing the firing mechanism, there is a metal plate with one screw holding it to the magazine.. I have broken three of them in half. Once they break, the magazine will not feed bbs and the blowback action fails.
    Im old, but new to this hobby, it was to the dpms sbr that I owe the credit to, for piquing my interest. So fun. It took about a week until I was All In, scope, red dot, bipod, quick reload magazine, and an extra standard magazine…not cheap, but it had a lot of great reviews so, lets go.
    The first mag failed in a week, the quick reload magazine took
    about three weeks, and finally my original magazine failed.all split this plate..no replacement part that I could find anywhere..not a lot of info out there on this type of failure either, so I’m left with no choice but to replace the whole magazine (?) anyway
    Anybody else have a similar issue? Are there any diy Fixes or explanations as to why this occurs?

    • @RWMAirgunsmithing
      @RWMAirgunsmithing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah this does happen to others, although I never heard about each mag breaking one after the other. Have you field stripped the airgun to make sure all the components are properly in place?
      This is most definitely an airgun issue and not a mag issue. If possible I would maybe try and get it replaced. If not, a full field strip is in order, you need to make sure everything is clean and in its proper place.

    • @RWMAirgunsmithing
      @RWMAirgunsmithing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As to why it happens is hard to say, I have 5 of these and multiple mags, and I only have 1 broken bolt catch.
      If the buffers in the lower extension (the stock part) are not being stopped by the retaining pin they potentially could be slamming into the firing pin and the BCG assembly too hard, which would maybe crack that part.
      If you plink in the sun and let the mags warm up you could be running a supped up rifle but the internals are not built to handle the increased energy and could break.
      You can verify the "hammer chip", it is the little black knob thingy on the end of the hammer inside the BCG. that little black chip should only protrude by barely a mm from the end. Any longer than that could be increasing energy dumped onto the mag valve.
      Hope this helps, my videos should help you get through the field strip process, I cover everything with no editing so you guys can follow along.

    • @RWMAirgunsmithing
      @RWMAirgunsmithing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Couple questions.. Does the magazine release button clear the metal catch completely?
      If you put fresh co2 in it does the bolt cycle properly? If something is broken or misplaced in the blowback mechanism potentially the firing pin could be protruding into the mag. (i was able to pull my mag out even with the trigger actuating the firing pin)
      The only other part in there is a little catch/tab for the magazine follower and lockback on empty function. If this little tab is broken or bent out of place it most definitely could interfere with magazine removal. Just to make sure.. you need to insert and remove the magazine vertically unlike a real AK where you have to "rock/hinge" it in. You can access the bb follower and spring if you gently remove the plastic part that retains the spring in place, the spring and follower should fall out on their own, if the follower wont fall out it is most likely jammed by the little bolt catch tab inside the mag well.

      Not yet, being from Canada I would have to register any worth having (which means keeping it locked and range only shooting and all) and I'm kinda keen on getting a long range bolt action for 1km shooting as my next big investment. So the quality airgun precision shooting kinda takes a backseat to real firearms. If I ever have a big enough property I would definitely get into it though lol

    • @RWMAirgunsmithing
      @RWMAirgunsmithing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That would be the front pivot pin or the rear takedown pin. Unfortunately crosman has not opened up many of their parts for sale individually yet. You can try searching online or your local airsoft shops for a replacement part, the fit should be pretty darn close. You could even try a real one depending on prices.
      Those 2 pins technically serve no other purpose than to keep the upper and lower receiver together. Temporally you could jerryrig a fix with anything that will keep the two receivers snug and securely together, I would try to avoid anything that could carve grooves in your crosman holes.

      Oof, tough break. Unfortunately crosman has not pumped out many spare parts for these yet. If you have a friend with a 3d printer and decent material you can maybe get one 3d printed, not sure if that is overkill.
      Any solution that could keep the co2 centered as you pierce should keep it running. When I tried taking out the green seal by the bottom it was really tight and I gave up, Maybe a properly sized o'ring will do the trick. Just make sure the tip of the canister gets centered when piercing so it ends up flat on the seal.

    • @RWMAirgunsmithing

      The second slot leak should be fixed by tightening (just a little) the ring on the seal.
      But that rattle in the top valve is not good, there shouldn't be any. If the assembly isnt incredibly loose I would bet there is something broken inside. You could try tightening the brass plate on the valve side, but if it is already snugg and it still leaks the valve needs to be opened and inspected.

      @@argyleantiques9943 hmm the green seal should take care of a leak from the needle. • @RWMAirgunsmithing

      Not impossible, but not an easy "snap your fingers" fix, you would have to make your own "disconnector" and replace the part in the semiauto FCG that is modded so the "BCG" catches on each shot, I am about to record a full break-down tutorial.. I'll make sure to point it out.
      So far I do not think Crosman sells these parts yet and probably never will seeing as it would be too easy to mod and hence eliminate their product from the non full auto markets, but you can see on the parts list there is a semi auto and a full auto part.

    You really need to show us if both CO2 cartridges actually emptied. I have 3 magazines and none of them actually work correctly. Meaning it only uses the cartridge on the left. And when I go to replace the left cartridge, the one on the right side gasses out. At that point its useless to change the right side one and just replace the left one, and leave an empty one in the right side. I have a solution though. I plan on marketing it to users of the DPMS SBR. It not only corrects for and eliminates the use of C02, But is also upgrades the unit to 1100 psi PCP air(vs 900 psi CO2). Its a great adaptor. Easy to install, and upgrades to 13 cubic inches of air. Now it really cranks.........I plan on launching sales sometime in 2024 or early 2025. I still need to work out a few logistics first, and launch the LLC. I figure there are around 1 - 2 million of these guns out there that need this mod.

      @mikeh3245 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What's happening with co2 leaking out the right side is a really small round ball barring that's not seating right! What's supposed to happen when you load the co2 that says first is the pressure builds up within the shared chamber and that pressure is supposed to push that little ball barring against a seal that on the opposite side of the piercing valve. Sometimes a bit of dirt or whatever it may be gets in the way and causes it to leak past.. if you get a blow gun with the curved metal tip and some pel gun oil, put a couple of drops on each peircer valve and then with the blow start with the the first one and gently apply a bit of air to that valve with the blow gun tip covering the peircer valve and sitting tight again the green o ring. Just be careful not to bend or break the peircer valve tip. Then move to the next one and repeat, but adding more air pressure as you go.. the only reason I say start gently with the air is to make sure you get that oil in there and not all over you or wherever else it may blow onto waisting the oil.. . Also one more thing ,I noticed you mentioned you have never took apart the top valve chamber section. Well I have about a hundred different times I also make my own custom valves almost identical to the factory valve, with the exception of my valves will get you running at anywhere from 600fps to upwards of 1200 fps.. I make three different valves witch all range from above said numbers ! Cheers guys and happy air gunning

    There's just a cone shaped plug between the two cartridge ports. Inserting the First cartridge presses the plug and it shuts the line so the secondary cartridge port does not let gas out. But the plug sometimes jams itself shut - especially if only using one cartridge at a time. Letting gas outta the first cartridge port, after both cartridges are installed, the secondary cartridge's gas presses easier the plug open since reduced counter pressure by the leaking first cartridge.
    I had this plug jammed on one of my mags at some point due to often using only one co2 cartridge in the First port. But by installing an empty cartridge in the First slot first - and using a full cartridge in port #2, the plug always gets pressed open in use by only one co2 cartridge.. I often shot my DPMS with only one cartridge - whenever I just wanted to do a quick shooting test or something..

      Valid question! I've seen people talk about it in forums and the tinkerer in me has always went down the rabbit hole... but...
      The problem is : bb's are spherical and random orientation of 25 bbs in a mag does not matter. So manufacturers can capitalize on that and make awesome replicas with drop free mags.
      These mags could definitely shoot pellets but you would have to tinker with the bb follower and guide and the entire bb channel and swap barrels to have some barrel rifling and most definitely would need to shim and angle everything at each step. Edit : not to mention the technicality of loading the mag after all these mods.

      It would definitely be an amazing tinkering feat that comes with bragging rights... but in reality you can purchase a hpa full auto pellet shooter except would not be a "AR replica".
      My advice would be to get the most out of these amazing AR replicas (for training and plinking these guys are accurate out to 50-60ft) and if you want better ballistics then you should definitely look into buying a real pellet airgun.

    I'm not sure if I'm surprised or not that Crosman hasn't updated this garbage magazine design. Namingly, the pain of reloading the f***ing thing. Surprising because this overall platform system could be THE design to recommend to anyone except for the magazine. Not-surprising because that's the apparent theme of air guns: "almost good enough". Perpetually almost good enough. For decades.

    • @RWMAirgunsmithing
      @RWMAirgunsmithing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, definitely not like the real thing xD Pretty much all the replica airguns have their issues, but you trade some performance for realistic handling.

      @aionarkhe5260 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's frustrating, but hey I still play the game. I really like the format these use where you can interchange uppers and lowers. If they made an entire line like this, it would be awesome to be able to swap in different calibers or maybe a rifled barrel with mags that push diablo pellets up. Or something, the ability for innovation here seems massive.
      I got mine on HPA and am planning at some point to convert a 6mm drum to feed somehow, was thinking about using the top of a standard DPMS mag and finding a way to get the drum to feed up the usual BB stack.

      Yeah totally agree the quality control is not up to par at all. It sounds like the check valve is constricted on your mags, but remember you never need to overtighten your co2, on this magazine if you overtighten the second slot co2 you will compress the check valve.
