My country, the Philippines, will not remove that rustic ship even if it crumbles. The sane thing for China to do is respect the July 2016 Arbitral Ruling at the Hague. and honor its commitment to abide with UNCLOS. Be a responsible state.

The PH should continue engaging China diplomatically, while building this so called alliances.
There had been, somewhat of an impasse between China and PH, with regards to issues in SCS.
These alliances that the PH is building, would greatly benefit Taiwan, should China decided to take the island by force.
But according to Trump, if he wins in November, Taiwan should pay if it wants to be defended by the US.
If it was just a campaign rhetoric, nobody really knows.
