I live here in South Korea and this device is like a staple product here. Clinics use them when you go get 5 star facial and face care and results are phenomenal. Use it as it’s intended for. As for the teeth sensation, it’s not dangerous. All doctors, nurses and estheticians have different POVs. I will say the Korean beauty is #1 for a reason and I’ve seen 50 year old women NO JOKE look 20. They’re on point. That being said, you have the same doctors say fillers and Botox are good, now they’re saying it’s aging you more.
It is now called the EMS shot. I love it. This video gave me palpitations so I could not finish it. I was curious to see what she had to say since it popped up on my recommended. I felt like she was just venting so I went to the comment section instead😅. Personally, I read up on ems before buying it and read up on microcurrent before buying the nuface a couple of years ago. The nuface did nothing. The Medicube has lifted my jowls after 3 months of use. So having read the pros and cons of both modalities and making an informed decision to buy the EMS, I’m happy with my decision and my results.
@@NurseSmolly I have used Tua Trend for years which is EMS - and I literally use it under my eyes and over my eyebrows. It works great.. Microcurrent is so tedious and I have not found one that works well. I have used them all!!
I watched Cassandra’s video and when she trashed Face yoga I have been doing a face yoga program for over 2 years.I am 72 years old and I can absolutely say it has improved my face enormously! Cheeks lifted ,lips no longer downturned and my jowls are disappearing I do use by the Nuface also. I get complements on my skin !
I am not a fan of Cassandra AT ALL, I’ll keep my negative comments to myself but she def needs to be called out. She consistently uses shame to misinform her community and acts as the know all for skin care and beauty. And, Thank you for pointing out the discrepancies with the device and the modalities it claims to use. I truly appreciate it.
Agreed. I used to follow Cassandra but stopped when she made entire videos that were verifiably untrue! She's not a good source of information. She's quite smug and memorizes medical terminology to come across as credible, but she's neither informed nor particularly intelligent.
I believe in everything you say, I bought the myolift mini because I saw that you explained everything very well. When I saw that you were using this new device I said to myself, my God, I have to buy it. Thank you for clarifying everything and for saving me from buying something that might not help me. I will continue with my myolift.
They are both electrocurrent devices, EMS is just stronger than micro current. I read it is best to use EMS on larger parts of the body and when it comes to the face, in the lower areas like the jaw, where there is firmer skin. It is intended to firm the body and jaw.It is used for muscle atrophy around the jaw area. Micro current is better for areas of the face that have thinner skin, like around the eyes, it would be bad to use something stronger here..both of these devices are electo current, one is just stronger then the other and hits deeper muscles, both have specific regions they should be used on.
Thank you for being so open and honest, Trina. I trust your opinion on beauty products because I see that you consistently isolate the use of devices before giving your opinion on them. It's very scary that people could be using products with misinformation and possibly permanently damage their skin and/or muscles. Thank you for first vetting any product you make videos about. ❤
Hi, I'm a licensed Esthetician and Instructor. I agree with what your saying 100% about not using it on the throat, especially on the tyroid and chest, really dangerous and unhealthy. Also the woman on the video you posted has no idea how to use the device, and is clearly giving ppl bad advice. You can tell that is not LED light therapy #1 LED doesn't emit light like that or looks like that. #2 if it was LED it would have a separate button/mode for it. I'm happy that you confirmed that with the company. It could be a language barrier on the whole marketing but it could also be just a marketing tactic 🤷♀️. But whichever it is they should correct it. I'm really tempted in purchasing but don't want to feel like I threw my money away if it's not what I expected. Thank u for this video
Yes.. facial yoga is exercises…resistance training Facial massage is just that - massage If you went to a spa that offers yoga and massage, you would automatically know that they’re 2 different things.. thanks for clarifying that!!
I am 54 years old and I have been using the Tua Trend EMS device for 11 years now. I used my instinct when I started using it. I have been lifting weights since I was 26- six days a week so EMS seem to fit the bill for me. It made since. If I am working my body muscles six days a week - why not work my face muscles. I also have an identical twin sister who does not use the device. My face looks younger than hers - I had not heard the info on ATP regarding the EMS treatments. I am sure there is validity to that - I am not sure what to think about any of this now.. I have had better results with ems than micro current. My last caveat is that when I use my ems device - I do it quickly- literally go over each area quickly and I only do a couple times a week or when I am going out - I use it in place of makeup. - I guess I would have to show pics to make my point. And I have tried tons of devices as well. I would say my ems device and my joovv machine have been the best for me. I only wear eye makeup now. I guess I could go on on or make a video and start reviewing products. But I am modest and don't want my face out on the internet. BTW I do love you reviews!!
I really like your video; very educational. I have purchased Medicube's radio-frequency device and do like it, seeing some results. I have just purchased the EMS device and wished I saw your video before purchasing, but will give it a try. I have used many asian skincare products including Medicube, History of Whoo, Shiseido. At the age of 56, I am trying to avoid botox or fillers.
I love this device & their Air Shot & the Age-R devices. I've seen & gotten great & fast results. My co-workers, friends & other fb groups notice my results & have given me great comments. I use all three devices with a device calendar that Medicube recommends. Love my devices!
Thank you so much for this video. I was almost sold on purchasing this device due to Cassandra's video. I cannot believe how much contradictory information is out there. Thanks again.!!
Where is the integrity? Influencers owe this to their followers, not just their opinions especially when those opinions are only their own projections! You can't just say you are an esthetician (which causes a follower to believe there is truth and experience behind their comments) and then just say anything you want without backing the information with facts. Thank you Trina for including integrity in your content and pointing these things out! I will now be more cautious about who I am listening to . Facts are what we all are looking for, instead we often believe content that we should be questioning from these influencers. BTW, I am totally ok with you receiving compensation for your hard work. Thank you.
I notice micro current being used for ems by many Asian companies and hi frequency as RF as well and I do believe that it’s a translation issue. I would trust euro standards long before FDA having been in pharmaceutical research for 20+ years. FDA cleared really doesn’t mean what many ppl think it does. FDA approved is wildly different from cleared. Regarding EMS and this device in particular. I am 55, very fair skinned and was teased horribly about being pale so I shunned sunscreen and lived in tanning beds. I grew up rather poor. Had no knowledge of skin care. My mom got the pink oil of Olay lotion for Christmas every year as it was a luxury item at $5 a bottle. I washed my face with dial soap and (not joking about this) bought my first skin care at age 32! I have a lot of premature aging also because of post menopausal and can’t take estrogen replacement. For my skin, the level of damage and sag and wrinkles etc, this device is amazing. I added it after I had already started myolift and tripolar and led therapy and I’ve never not been happy about it. When I use it right after I do my tripolar and I find that to be a fantastic results night. That said, if you have relatively firm skin already I don’t know if this tool will show you much. Most of there before and afters are on pretty heavy jowls and heavy sagging and double chins and the like. Yes it hurts my teeth but as the old adage goes, pride hath no pain. I do think it’s a great device for some people. I don’t use it every day because it will deplete atp and I do micro current between uses to continue to produce atp. I honestly think any of these devices require users to research and understand methods of action and am extremely grateful for all the info you provide. Agree that tutorial is filled with disinformation and should not even exist. Just a note on led light therapy. It’s not the size of the light but the frequency and irradiance of the light that determines effectiveness. The issue with the light on devices like this is time of exposure. Not saying there can’t be some benefit but exposure time will never equal a mask or panel. Thanks for all you do to inform us!
I was duped into buying the Trophy Skin Jenu Rejuvatone MD because they say it is a microcurrent device. It is an EMS device and now I can't even give the bloody thing away and I still don't have a microcurrent device. This kind of false advertising has to STOP! Thank you for making this video Trina.
Thank you, Trina, for your honesty, integrity, and all of your work that you put into researching info, testing products, and for preparing these great and helpful videos. Your work and efforts are very much appreciated.
If it was a microcurrent device, it’s not really about up or down. It’s about the position of the muscle you’re targeting and where it originates and inserts. I appreciate the honesty and the concerns you’ve raised in this video Trina!
I thought in general or wasn't a good idea to do anything pulling down on the face - everything from waxing and cleansing, to how we use Beauty devices. I always try to go upwards and everything I do thinking I can beat gravity, lol
@@horriblekitty13 while that’s a common thing I hear online as well, there’s just no evidence to support that. You’re totally welcome to do it with another tool or device if you prefer that but it would actually be counter productive for microcurrent specifically as it’s all about the placement of each muscle. Not all your muscles are placed vertically and if you look at microcurrent pioneer Dr Wing’s original work, it’s actually about the original and insertion of the muscle and where they connect to the tendon.
Saying face yoga/exercise doesn´t work, is like saying doing yoga/working out doesn´t work..In the end, she is the one missing out. thank you for making that video , really good information..Hope a lot of people will see it.
Personally I did some research about what the device really is as I have a microcurrent device and wanted something to pair with it. I definately feel it works, especially if your problem is not using your facial muscles enough (you're stoic), if you're look to relax your face to relax muscle that cause fine lines, to drain fluid from the face, and improve skin quality and absorption of product. I haven't used it enough to see collagen and elastin improvement but i'm also 36 yrs old and already have amazing skin--I have a main concern of facial tension causing migraines and fine lines, as well as facial puffiness dragging my face down. But I agree that I find their wording could be more clear. It's likely they are in the lengthy process of getting it approved but as with anything the paperwork takes a while so they want ot sell more, now, rather than be honest and say we are waiting on our approval for FDA regulation. I do want to throw out there that just because something is FDA regulated doesn't mean it's good for you. Think of all the preservatives in our food that are FDA regulated, all of the medications we take that could potentially kill us due to horrific side effects. I think it's more important to have validation that their device does what it says, so you understand the science and YOUR risks so you can make an informed decision. What bothers me is the no return policy on open items. Even s3x toy shops have return policies. They do invite you to leave reviews openly and I will leave one once I've used this for a good six months. Overall I do agree with your points because it is a safety hazard if you cannot use a microcurrent or EMS device and they are not marketing it in clear language and the person you're referencing should have her video edited because of miss information.
I see on the global website on the product listing multiple times that it mentions this is an EMS device…I’m not sure if they had changed it since this video was made, but if the listing hasn’t changed since this video was made, it’s confusing me when I don’t see it being advertised as a micro current device. 🧐 I don’t know who Cassandra is, but it’s always better for people to research products in depth instead of taking the words of one person as the sole truth... I can understand the other frustrations mentioned though
I am so glad I had found and clicked on your video. I had bought this months ago and had not used it yet because the gel it came along with had irritated my skin. I’ve finally been looking into finding an alternative and doing research. So I went back to the website in order to remember what type of modality it is, just in case the type of gel would work based on that. Only to see it no longer said anything about micro current modalities as it did before. Then I found your video after watching so many, now realizing why it now said EMF. I watch Cassandra on the regular and naively decided to ignore her occasional skincare bias, hypocrisy, contradictory statements, and shame/scare tactics which were honestly huge red flags. However, watching you explain and point things out made me see how detrimental that can actually be. Especially when I’ve now realized how much I’ve been ignorantly influenced (thinking I wasn’t easily so) not only by her but other skin "experts" here on TH-cam. Thank you.
Glad that I watched your video before ordering this device. Actually I had tried their skincare products before but didn’t feel any changes. Just thought it may be worth another try coz quite many videos claim that it’s useful. In fact, this company spends WAY TOO MUCH money on marketing. I’m from Hong Kong and I see Medicube’s ads on Instagram from time to time. I think that’s what makes them so ‘successful’, while the actual effect of their products is SO questionable.
At 46, you look amazing! I can't give you more than 38. Thank you for the good explanation video. I was looking for information for this device and found your channel. You won a new subscriber:)
Trina, thank you being honest! I watched Cassandra‘s video and then bought the device 🤦🏼♀️. I just turned 40 , and I have been looking for a few good channel’s I can trust! I’m really glad I found your channel!
So glad I saw this video! I purchased this product and realized I came across Cassandra’s video in the beginning. Now that I’ve seen so many videos I completely agree with everything you said. Another thing she did that is not recommended is to not use so closely under the eyes! And the dragging down the face was so beyond cringe!
Chanced upon your channel when I try getting a better price for the Age R device. Your honest advice has saved me S$269. 😆 Keep up the marvelous work, Trina. You are like a super hero to innocent folks.
I saw Cassandra’s video before watching this and I had issues with the same things you talked about. However, I own this device and to me it feels like EMS with microcurrent especially on my forehead, I feel the same tingling that I feel when I use the Bear on my forehead. So I just assumed that it had both modalities and that’s why Cassandra was calling it microcurrent. I bought it because Darcy from a Brazilian Girl channel recommended it for the jaw line. She said it was the best thing she had ever tried on her jaw line.
They absolutely need to stop marketing their device as something it is not. I am so happy to hear from you and another person on U-Tube about this device that I almost purchased. Thank you.
preach sister!! I have always enjoy your videos for your honest opinion, your extensive research and your sharing your knowledge of skin care and all the devices. I had no idea you are "just" a consumer, i assumed you are an anesthetic given all the knowledge you have regarding skin care and the devices. Love the passion you have.
What made md read the comments on Cassandras video, which then led me here, was my confusion of her contradiction. She did a micro current video in the past that properly showed how to use it, what microcurrent is, that you should NEVER feel it and how it shouldn't be used on the front of your neck due to thyroid. Then she did this new one and her technique and language changed. It feels scammy and I was very happy to see your post. I'm going to sub.
Thank you for bringing up this touchy and confusing subject. It needed to be said. I can't use EMS because it hurts my teeth, but I have no trouble with real microcurrent. I'm one of the people that feels fleeced by Cassandra's promotion. I now have a $180 device I can't use. I'm really disappointed in Cassandra with her misinformation or misunderstanding of this device. I'm also not thrilled with the rest of the Medicube skincare, or their sister company Aprilskin, but that's another rant. These companies overhype their products. I think they are leveraging marketing buzzwords to generate sales, it's not a translation or language issue. It's not like it's hard to find a language translator.
Thanks for your honest opinion! yes, i did think that constantly stretchng the facial muscles in different directions would actually lead to muscle laxity and more sagging.
Thanks for this video, Trina! I was recently on their website looking at another device-the air shot, after seeing some intriguing ads. I ran into similar issues with all their vague terminology and unclear “science”. Lots of red flags went up for me while trying to figure out just what modality it was using. I’m glad I’m not the only one questioning this company. Highly educated consumers must stick together and demand better.
I too was trying to dig deeper on the same product you mention. They claim to use ultrasound and “high frequency”… but I couldn’t figure out what kind of “high frequency”… radio frequency? Light frequency? Plus other questions. I’ve emailed them for answers. I also wanted to know if the device would melt facial fat. I asked if it was possible to read the result of their study…They did reply that they would find out and get back to me. Waiting for a reply… as I search around the web seems like there’s a big marketing push going on now. We’ll see if they respond to me.
Love your videos. Super informative! I appreciate your honesty. It was watching your videos that helped me to decide on the right microcurrent and radio frequency device. I actually am an ex-esthetician. Have not worked in the field in a very long time, but based on the amount of research you do...I trust you no less than a licensed esthetician. Thank you for your content!!
To be honest, I think that doesn't matter if she has many followers, it is pretty obvious that she is not very educated. You are in a different league, don't waste your time with someone like her. She is obviously pretty ignorant.
Some creators do sponsored content, some don’t. If they do then you just have to decide whether that person has integrity, transparency, and is properly testing things. I don’t agree with painting everyone who does sponsored content with the same brush at all or the comment you received.
It takes a lot of guts to make such a video. Thank God there are still people with knowledge and conscience out there! This is one of your best, most helpful and educational reviews of home beauty products! Wondering if you will be able to do "Dr Arrivo Zeus ll ", a Japanese beauty device, in the near future? If anything else, the price truly sets this Zeus ll device on a whole different platform...thanks!
I watch Cassandra Bankston videos. Enjoy them, she is adorable. However, a while back she was talking about the Newa device and also called it a Microcurrent device (but it is not it is a radio frequency device). I am not sure how much she knows about these devices actually....? Which is unfortunate considering she sells herself as a esthetician.
I feel so misled. I watched her video and was so convinced it would be a great device to have. I also watched a few others. I received my device last week and it really hurt my teeth and that was on the lowest setting. I know over time I will stop using it. Thank you for your investigative work. Well, I have to go unfollow her now and follow you. Thank you!!!
Trina, such a good video. This is truly unbelievable, the company and Cassandra's video. I'm really shocked as she says she is an esthetician. How would she not know this? I agree with you about Face Yoga as well. I'm glad you are getting this information out. ❤️🙏 There is a huge question with many viewers regarding the difference between EMS and Microcurrent and which is better. Many think because EMS stimulates the muscle therefore it is better, however EMS, from my understanding was developed for muscle stimulation in the arms and legs for muscle recovery and worked well on larger muscle groups. The face muscles are much smaller and using EMS on the face can overstimulate the muscle causing ATP to deplete. I don't personally recommend it on the face unless a person has advanced signs of aging in the lower part of the face. I've had women say that it has helped sagging jowls. But again I'd be careful. My own thoughts and am not an expert just another skincare junkie! ❤️🙏
I can only talk about the company but the company does say EMS, it just was missed. I have this product. It says on the front page of the instructions of the lower left Derma EMS Shot and the medicube site has in the product description. "How does facial EMS work?" Among various methods of treatment using electrical current (Galvanic current, Microcurrent, and EMS - all commonly often referred to as microcurrent), EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) utilizes electrical currents of reverse polarity to stimulate inner muscles and help them relax & contract."
Thank for the information. I recently saw this on Tati Westbrook TH-cam as she says she uses the device but never made claims of it being a micro current .. Tati just said she really likes the device. Nonetheless; I am a skincare junkie but I research products before I buy & I was skeptical about this. I wonder if Dr. Dray has anything to say about this device she is one person I trust. Thanks for all your information.
I've watched many of Tati's videos and I have to say, when I saw her Medicube review, it really lacked sincerity and I wondered how much they paid her. Those are NOT my usual go to thoughts when I watch her and her reviews. It left me with a suspicious feeling in my gut...
Yes, thank you! I've been putting in DAYS of research to understand all the different devices available and what they do. The thing I've had the worst time with is finding out about EMS vs microcurrent. I get the difference, but it's impossible to research all these devices when they use microcurrent as a blanket term for both kinds. I even tried to look up specific current amounts, like is microcurrent up to a certain strength and then its considered EMS...It's been a nightmare, I'm exhausted. Thank you for your help, your videos are VERY helpful. I trust you know what you're talking about and that you're thorough, and I appreciate you so much. As far as this device goes, I was considering buying one, but I'm very put off by all the lying the company has done. I'm so glad I found out now.
It is very confusing and very hard to find information on the modalities! I made a video about the difference between microcurrent and EMS and galvanic if you want to go watch that. That video took quite a bit of research as well. Glad I could help!
I AGREE WITH YOUR OBSERVATIONS AND I THINK THE COMPANY KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT IT DOING AS FAR AS MAKING CLAIMS THAT ARE NOT TRUE. WHAT DEVICE DO YOU RECOMMEND INSTEAD OF THIS TO TIGHTEN SAGGING SKIN? Thank you
Good point there Trina. I was doing some research what to get when I chance upon Cassandra’s video. I’m not sure if it’s just me but the way she talks is a bit annoying. Then I chanced upon your video, I don’t have to keep on pausing it. And you’ve explained it very well. It helped me decide what to get 🙂.
You are genuine. Cassandra is just unwatchable for me. Her histrionics, mugging for the camera and stupid antics just make me feel like I'm watching a very immature juvenile. I want good content and you really provide that. Thank you for the no nonsense approach. You're still fun to watch without acting like an idiot.
Thank you for your balanced reviews and all the helpful information. -I totally agree with you, facial yoga does work -Devices can be harmful if used or marketed incorrectly. Device reviews should come from knowledgable people which is obviously not the case with the channel you are referencing. I have attempted to watch a few of her videos but her lack of expertise and hyperactive personality is off putting. Thank you for clarifying the differences between the modalities. It’s obvious you are passionate about educating your viewers and have the knowledge base to do so!
Just discovered you as I was highly considering buying the device, so glad I came across your video!! Thank you! I’m subscriber now, just based on this video 🙂
thank you so much for this video. This device is indeed strong as hell. I am still very cautious using it. Regarding Cassandra: she might be the sweetest person, but I don't trust this chick, it's not the first time she's spreading misinformation; I stopped following her the minute she was dragging face yoga and gua sha for the x-th time. I've been using gua sha for years, doing face yoga and mewing technique for years, I see the difference it made for my face and yet here she is, never actually tried face yoga once but still entitled af talking s*** about it
@@SheIsTired I actually do. But I also do recommend setting realistic expectations towards gua sha. It won't change your face shape and it won't lift miraculously sagging skin, the device is for the lymph drainage and using it as a massage tool helps the face to appear less puffy and more snatched.
Don’t worry about the haters, that person clearly has nothing better to do than throwing her cheap opinion around, like you said, she hasn’t taken the time to get to know your work.
Thank you! I wanted to bring it up in case others were thinking the same thing without commenting about it. There was another woman agreeing with her, so I wanted to bring it up!
Thanks, Trina. My package from Medicube has been sitting in their box since it arrived a few weeks ago (!) and I'm finally getting it out, trying to read the small print in the brochure to figure out how to use it. I was in the middle of replying to their email asking what I thought about the products and thought I should look up what other influencers have reported. Thx for the update about it being an EMS device (I missed that on their box). I also have the EvenSkyn Lumo and got a lot of benefit from the EMS mode on it for my chin and neck area. I didn't know until this video that you can't use the EMS mode on devices.
No need to get offended by that comment. Bias is often there whether you know it or not. You can’t just say, “You can trust a sponsored video that I make” and leave it at that. Nobody’s saying you don’t deserve to get paid for sponsorships, but there’s a reason many of us don’t trust sponsored videos nearly as much as videos made by those who are unaffiliated with the brand and spent their own money on the product.
Fine but often times I purchase a product with my own money and then the brand asks to sponsor a video later on. You cannot assume that just because a video is sponsored, the product is gifted. Creators like me need to earn a living just like everyone else and I am very careful to disclose all my sponsorship details per FTC requirements to maintain authenticity. People who don’t trust my content are clearly new to my channel and I can call them out if I’d like to as an example.
@@beautybeyond40 I agree that TH-camrs who have earned larger platforms deserve to be paid for the work they’re putting in. Nothing wrong with a company seeing the value in that platform and paying you to send a message. But unconscious bias exists, and that’s a very valid reason for people to not trust sponsored content. All I’m saying.
Videos like this increase our trust in you. Cassandra is entertaining, but is sloppy with her content. Considering she’s an actual esthetician I often expect more substance from her and not basic goofs like the stuff you point out. Trina, don’t rush to push content out, I think that’s how even professionals get sloppy. Keep doing your research and due diligence, test slowly and feel no pressure to give premature updates.
thanks god I watched ur video. I almost want to place the order. I can't get EMS too. I am very grateful to make research and you are the first pop out. thank you so much.
I was waiting for a video like this the entire time! 😭 I used to like and follow Cassandra until she made the Age R review. I bought it out of curiosity and find it scammy especially when they use a Korean comedian posing as an expert doctor to promote their products. I had too many hopes on Cassandra and my Jaw dropped seeing how she was approving this device pretending to use it while the device was turned off. Then she put a couple of minutes with the device turned on, she couldn't handle it and STILL said it's the best. I just stopped believing in her lol sad to sell their souls for money and publicity. I use the device here and there but I'm not expecting any major changes
I agree, I saw her video before this one and she kept saying how much she loved the twitching, while she was performing a demo. Crazy. It doesn't make any sense. I also don't understand how people would call this microcurrent when strictly on their website this is posted as EMS. The device itself is labeled EMS everywhere on their site.
She is an outlier, ignore her Trina. I watch this channel because I trust you and find your content worthwhile. If you are authentic, I don't care if you are sponsored. I have no problem with you making a living from having this channel. If you did not you might not be able to create videos for us! :)
Thank you so much for making this video. I have been waiting for an actual honest review of this product since I (regrettably) ordered it. They don't let you return even if you never opened the box.. I do not believe it is a language better. I believe it is a very intentional marketing scam. Also, I had seen Cassandra's video and was very disappointed in how she heavily talked down on facial yoga (by using random scams as an example?!) and making the Age R device sound amazing when all it does is twitch your muscles which doesn't seem too different from "facial massaging" which, like you said, she makes fun of.
@@beautybeyond40 I looked into it more and immediately regretted it before I even got it. I told them I wanted to return but they said they already shipped and if I want a refund, I have to "reject" the package? No idea what that meant because I receive my packages via Amazon locker. So I received it, and immediately asked if I can return and they said no because of covid..?
Oh sorry I replied to quickly I was saying really ? About that they wouldn’t let you return the box even if it’s not open let me read the rest of your comment
Thank you. I almost considered getting one after seeing her video. Instead I decided to search and find other reviews on this device. I'm glad I found your channel. I subscribed.
I have to admit, I am like the woman you mentioned in the beginning. Nowadays it’s really hard to trust anyone . But I leave quietly, I don’t comment. The reason I stayed on your video is what you said about testing the product first before making a video. If I were in your shoes I would do the same. I was glad I stuck around, new subscriber!
Watching Cassandra using this powerful device and pulling it down instead of up Makes me question her knowledge?! I don't mean to be rude but she does talk a lot and I think she should get her facts right!!! As you mentioned facial yoga done properly does work. I can't help but, think Cassandra does take the piss out of the other channels and for some reason she thinks she is allowed to do so?! The reason I'm here is that I trust you and I had a few concerns and questions about this device as I saw another influencer using it and it looked extremely strong and watching her facial muscles moving the way they did...!!!?? Thank you very much for answering my questions and making things clear for me. Cheers
Hi. Thank you so much for your comments regarding our Age-R Device. We have thoroughly reviewed your concerns amongst our relevant team and would like to share the following updates with you. First, it is true that we have used the term "FDA-cleared" to describe our product certification. However, we acknowledge the fact that the term could cause confusions among our customers. We apologize for your inconvenience and will henceforth readdress the term as "FDA-registered" Second, we would like to clarify our method of classification for the Age-R as a "microcurrent" device. "Microcurrent" is a generic term that collectively refers to a wide range of care methods that utilize low-intensity currents, including Galvanic currents, iontoporesis, and EMS. Most devices in the market operate as a single polarity method that allows either Anode(+) or Cathode(-) to flow, which in themselves are also commonly referred to as "microcurrent". Meanwhile, EMS (such as our Age-R Device) uses bipolarity where two polarities alternatively cross and are transferred to induce direct muscle tremors. In other words, EMS can be categorized as a type of microcurrent which utilizes bipolar currents to stimulate muscles. Hence, technically, the method of EMS and microcurrents cannot be divided distinctively into two different things. The expression "microcurrent" is also often used to refer to low-amplitude current muscle stimulation in several thesis, which indicates that microcurrent and EMS are not necessarily two different principles. Therefore we have been using the term microcurrent to utilize a more easily-recognized keyword to help our consumers easily understand its basic concept. Thank you so much again for your comments and we will appreciate any precious feedback from you. medicube_official
All of the various types of electrical currents you described can't just be all called microcurrent. They aren't even all called microcurrent in a medical or aesthetic clinical setting. They all do different things. If you go to a pain management or aesthetic clinic and just ask for microcurrent they are going to know that you don't know what you are talking about. Ems, tens, stim, galvanic, faradic, ultrasonic, etc all do different things and have different purposes. You also don't address the fact that you are misleading in your marketing. I wish you would have just said EMS in your marketing and I would have known this is a device I can't use and not waste money on it. I now have a $200 device I can't use because it's painful, a device that I bought under the presumption that it was microcurrent like a Nuface type of device .
@@horriblekitty13 Hi! Thank you so much for your comment. We would like to kindly reassure you that we are in full awareness of a variety of treatments utilizing micro electrical currents such as TENS, Galvanic, Ultrasonic, etc. We are also aware that methods of electrical stimulation on muscles can be categorized into TENS, MENS, FES, etc. depending on its purpose, such as beauty or medical usage. As a matter of fact, a number of products in the market utilizing electrical stimulation either refer to themselves or are currently referred to as "microcurrent". In such cases, phrases such as 'microcurrent facials', 'microcurrent toning' or 'microcurrent therapy' are commonly used to describe the products. The word "microcurrent" is even used in academic sources to refer to such methods. Our Age-R uses the same principle (of muscular stimulation using micro currents), in fact with an optimal level of electrical currents to increase stimulation. Of course, the level of stimulation sensed by each individual may differ. However, as our multiple safety certifications indicate, it does not mean that the product is problematic or harmful. Thank you!
EMS and microcurrent are the same thing. Use the weakest level on the Medicube device, and you can call it a microcurrent if you well. Not to mention that contracting facial muscles is a good thing, maybe even better than running weak microcurrents
@@Egyfitness I prefer microcurrent which builds and retains ATP. I find EMS to be painful and I do not want my muscles to twitch. I prefer microcurrent as muscles do not twitch and the electrical current mimics the body's own electrical signals. If used properly, you should not feel microcurrent. My philosophy is that you don't have to feel pain to see results. I am 49 and have been using microcurrent for years while avoiding EMS. I have never had any work done nor any injectables. Microcurrent works for me. If you like EMS, then go for it. You do do and I'll do me! :)
I’ve never been able to get into Cassandra. She uses her esthetician license to imply she’s an expert and speaks like she’s an authority… but her videos are full of inaccuracies. It’s okay to have an opinion, to not be an expert, or like something that’s not fully proven yet. What rubs me the wrong way is when you make statements of fact, scientific words, and act like you’re an expert but actually have no clue what you’re talking about. I enjoy her lives actually and when she’s just being herself but Cassandra’s YT videos are just not for me. She does almost all sponsored content but it doesn’t feel like there’s must testing going on there tbh which for me is key for sponsored videos.
Yes she ignores you when you point out her inaccurate statements also, she claims kylieskin copied supergoops sunscreen formula yet murad was the first out to market with that unseen sunscreen type gel. Murad also don't own that formula by the looks of it, it must be a contract manufacturer because there are many many brands that have the same vehicle. Yet when you point this out she ignores the point and continues to state it in videos when she's talking about them. Also as you say her videos are just basically all sponsored content now which isn't a problem but the sheer volume is overwhelming. Also she hates microneedling which we love so that's a shame lol
@@and_ymc Cassandra doesn't hate microneddling she suggested to do that at clinic, but one thing i would say when i check in amazon about Cassandra's suggested products, i found most of the products have bad reviews that really disappointed me cause it seems she just suggest anything that is sponsored.
Oh my Gosh, its super odd that brands allow random youtubers like Cassandra to give us a anti-science lesson, and honestly weird that TH-cam allows it. I had an art video taken down, for no reason, that was not harmful to anyone. Btw back in the day, I watched everyone on youtube use crystal creams with at home skin polishing tools, (like clarisonic) and what happened to me is I got a deep skin infection on one of my cheeks, that left me with huge permanent scars. I have never had a big acne problem, and if I had never used these horrible polishing tools that were recommended by youtubers I never would have gotten huge holes in my skin. I also had to do fraxel laser on the scars and even that did not help. About the electrical pulses and actual muscle twitching above the heart and thyroid omg, again I do not understand how misinformation like this is allowed to spread. Nipples and different political opinions get banned but sure lets actually put people in danger...
I stopped watching Cassandra a long time ago because of inconsistencies like this (I'm a pharmacist so I have some medical knowledge), plus a few videos that were insulting towards other people. It's disappointing because she has so many followers and some will be influenced to buy. I tried EMS once & I didn't like it. It felt prickly on my skin, not muscle twitchy, so I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong?
Is it bad when muscle depleted ATP? What is the adverse side effect? Is it reversible? I just ordered one before i saw this video. 😮 I do have teeth aching when using electric stimulation in beauty saloon yet i am uncertain which type of electric current was it. Btw, is there any way to avoid /reduce the teeth sensation?
So many devices say EMS micro current. One even said something different in each ad. What is LeFay and your opinion of it. Thanks for bringing this up. So many items are on the net with no contact.
I wish I would've found this video sooner. I ordered one and was concerned about the fact that you shouldn't use this device if you have any silicone in your body, which I do. I could not find the phone number for them, so I emailed them to return it and I was ignored. now I'm stuck with it and I don't know if it's safe for me to use on my face.
Hi Trina, , I just got the device, and what is very strange for me is that I don't feel discomfort at the highest setting, only a slight muscle contraction, as you can see in your video, even though you show it in the slightest. Shouldn't it be stronger to feel my facial muscles tighten? I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you so much
OK so I haven't watched this all the way through yet.... but I do absolutely agree with you here! And I think it's so dangerous that this brand has marketed this tool as a micro current device when it is infact an EMS device! Now whether this is a language barrier or something more sinister like a blatant lie to market it as something it's not.... this is still really REALLY bad!!! I'm also surprised at Cassandra as I watch her too and thought she was far smarter than this..... mmmmm, food for thought here I think! Thanks so much Trina 🙏 for bringing this to our attention... your the best xxx
I just started taking my skincare serious and this video was so informative. Thank you!!❤️ I almost bought the product without knowing about EMS before this😳
I purchased this from the Hong Kong medicube website, it's very informative, I do not see it's FDA-cleared and nothing mentioned about the LED therapy, and the website shows that it can be used on the neck and shoulders but definitely not on the throat. Hope it helps.
Thank you for this video! I saw someone asked them in their facebook ad if it is EMS. They said it is “EMS which is part of Microcurrent too” i wish I screenshot that answer. Lucky for me to have subscribed to your youtube vid, so I don’t spend so much money for an EMS device💕
I just put my tongue over the tooth that it bothers. This device is awesome!!
I’m a device junkies and this medicube age R is awesome!i use mouth guard and didn’t bother at all! i love it!!
Thank you!!!
@@NurseSmolly I have used Tua Trend for years which is EMS - and I literally use it under my eyes and over my eyebrows. It works great.. Microcurrent is so tedious and I have not found one that works well. I have used them all!!
I watched Cassandra’s video and when she trashed Face yoga
I have been doing a face yoga program for over 2 years.I am 72 years old and I can absolutely say it has improved my face enormously! Cheeks lifted ,lips no longer downturned and my jowls are disappearing
I do use by the Nuface also. I get complements on my skin !
Which face yoga program do you recommend?
I'm a licensed esthetician in California. You have presented excellent information. I'm really happy to have found your channel
@@Kate-Does what videos? so I can check them out
I’ve only watched her a few times. My impression based on what she says and how she acts…. She’s seems like a flake !!😊
Sorry, disregard the smiley face, was a mistake!
Thank you for this. I was trying to decide between this device and another and was partially relying on Cassandra's review. Now I want to dig deeper.
Thanks for trying to communicate about all the confusion. I was very confused when I bought it, now I realize I am not the only one.
Yes.. facial yoga is exercises…resistance training
Facial massage is just that - massage
If you went to a spa that offers yoga and massage, you would automatically know that they’re 2 different things.. thanks for clarifying that!!
I’m so glad they work for you!
After watching this, no longer trust TH-cam channel you mentioned. Appreciate your honesty and research!!
If it was a microcurrent device, it’s not really about up or down. It’s about the position of the muscle you’re targeting and where it originates and inserts. I appreciate the honesty and the concerns you’ve raised in this video Trina!
Good to know! Thank you for responding
Thank you.
I am not impressed with Medicube if they are marketing it as something it is not. That is dangerous and irresponsible. Great video Trina!
Thank you! I'll take 38 any day!!!
Keep up the marvelous work, Trina.
Thank you so much for our video I bought it I will return it for sure was a very painful and horrible feeling I love your videos very trusted ❤
I appreciate your honesty. 😢
I totally agree with you ! I stopped following Cassandra Bankson a long time ago whatsoever because she had already said nonsense to me !
She presents herself as an expert which is so definitely not the case
Wow newa is radio frequency 🤦♀️
I’ve trusted Cassandra for a long time 😢 I’m so confused
Thanks for your honesty, I wish there were more TH-camrs like you ❤🇦🇺
Thanks for the honest review ❤
You re TOTALLY RIGHT! specially about using that sort of device on the neck area.
Great clarification!
Hi! I just recently bought a Droplette, NIRA, and ZIIP, and have been binging on your videos just now. What a great channel, Subscribed! ♥
Trina, I've been following you because one can tell you are passionate and when there's passion, their integrity. Keep up the good work.
"How does facial EMS work?"
Among various methods of treatment using electrical current (Galvanic current, Microcurrent, and EMS - all commonly often referred to as microcurrent), EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) utilizes electrical currents of reverse polarity to stimulate inner muscles and help them relax & contract."
-I totally agree with you, facial yoga does work
-Devices can be harmful if used or marketed incorrectly.
I've been using gua sha for years, doing face yoga and mewing technique for years, I see the difference it made for my face and yet here she is, never actually tried face yoga once but still entitled af talking s*** about it
Do you recommend gua sha?
@@beautybeyond40 Totally understand. You are doing great work, keep it up 👍
Thanks, Trina.
Oh, I haven't seen that video. I'm going to look it up. Thanks!!!
Really??
@@beautybeyond40 I looked into it more and immediately regretted it before I even got it. I told them I wanted to return but they said they already shipped and if I want a refund, I have to "reject" the package? No idea what that meant because I receive my packages via Amazon locker. So I received it, and immediately asked if I can return and they said no because of covid..?
Oh sorry I replied to quickly I was saying really ? About that they wouldn’t let you return the box even if it’s not open let me read the rest of your comment
@@beautybeyond40 haha no sorry, I've been super frustrated about this device for a few months so I got excited and commented too soon.
@@LEOofGnG lol i get it!!! I have been heated for a while before i filmed the video!!
Thank you. I almost considered getting one after seeing her video. Instead I decided to search and find other reviews on this device. I'm glad I found your channel. I subscribed.
I love facial yoga, of course exercising the facial muscles has benefits🌸
The point is they false advertised
Hi Trina,
I have used this device and its amazing absolutely amazing please try it for a week and see 😊
Thank you for such a valuable video and lesson. You are truly education your community. I am happy to be here. ❤
I am so glad that you did this video I keep seeing this device being pushed by TH-camrs that clearly do not know what they are talking about.
I agree with you, I had a suspicion and I was right. Thank you for clarifying this.
Thank you so much for clarifying her inaccuracies !!
I know you have your opinion but I adore Cassandra. If she was wrong she was wrong . Remember we are human and we are not perfect.
We apologize for your inconvenience and will henceforth readdress the term as "FDA-registered"
Second, we would like to clarify our method of classification for the Age-R as a "microcurrent" device.

@@horriblekitty13
Hi!
Thank you!
I’m so glad I found your video. I was just on their website and it is confusing. And facial yoga works. Thank you beautiful, for the work you do.
EMS and microcurrent are the same thing. Use the weakest level on the Medicube device, and you can call it a microcurrent if you well. Not to mention that contracting facial muscles is a good thing, maybe even better than running weak microcurrents
This is all incorrect
@@beautybeyond40 So EMS doesn’t cause muscles hypertrophy? Because facial muscles atrophy with aging. And EMS rebuilds them. So what’s wrong exactly?
Thank you Trina. I was researching this modality as best as I could. This video was so informative.
I’m so glad watching your vdo. Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏻🤟🏼
Thank you so much
Hi. I'm not sure as I made this video a couple years ago and I'm not sure if they are selling the same device?
Thank you!!❤️ I almost bought the product without knowing about EMS before this😳
I agree with you. Facial yoga works so well for me.
Glad to hear it!
Thanks for your honesty and information
I purchased this from the Hong Kong medicube website, it's very informative, I do not see it's FDA-cleared and nothing mentioned about the LED therapy, and the website shows that it can be used on the neck and shoulders but definitely not on the throat. Hope it helps.
Thanks for the info!
Thank you for looking out for us - great video 💜💜🦋
Thank you for this video! I saw someone asked them in their facebook ad if it is EMS. They said it is “EMS which is part of Microcurrent too” i wish I screenshot that answer.
Lucky for me to have subscribed to your youtube vid, so I don’t spend so much money for an EMS device💕
Love this. I didn't even get the directions
YOU are absolutly right
Excellent video Trina, thank you!! 😃😘
