Meek shall inherit S Tier rankings!"
I was really hoping they were going to have the options from the OG plague marine box like bolt pistol/ power fist for the champion, plasma rifle gunner, the other heavy weapon gunner that I'm forgetting. I was really trying to avoid buying the beginner box and not having to play with the plague caster because I already have a bunch of plague marines.
They are mirrors to each other. Warpcoven have better ranged shooting and are weaker in melee, Deathguard have weak shooting but will destroy in melee. Don’t bring any Tzaangors to this fight.
This is the most flavorful Death Guard rules. I wish they had access to other gunner and fighter options. Also, let them take more Warriors. I want to play this team without buying the starter as I already own Plague Marines.
Here's the crazy thing: if you leave a model on 1 wound and poisoned, it's worse than killing it... It still has to be activated by the opponent, then it immediately dies. So they miss a turn of overwatch! Just a lil extra from nurgle
It's balanced (kind of) when you play Elites VS Elites, or non-Elites VS non-Elites. Aka when you're playing with the same rules as your opponent. It's when you want to mix up Elites VS non-Elites, the mess happen
Poison is insanely strong. It's always at least 1 extra damage when first applied, and beyond that it hits every turn, so potentially 3 or even 4 damage over the game. That's just baseline, on top of this it has the contagion debuff, toxic extra damage, and all the other effects these operatives reference. Just unhinged.
I noticed that when an existing team had an update, it noted it inside the app (for re-download), but for this (adding a new team) I had to take action to update the app itself
C'mon we bought, assembled and painted 6 or more models, we don't want to go back to 5 guys teams! not even GW wants it, because with a box of 10 you can build 2 teams. Just remove overwatch, and nerf some crazy rules (like too many specialists for legionaries, a 2+ save for some rubric marines and so on..)
@ I only just picked up the new hive storm set to get into the game There’s no mention in the core rules about equipment (how and when to select it) or the scouting phase There’s also no play checklist like there is in that cool alternate app you previewed a week or so ago (battle kit?).
I'm also perplexed by the total lack of options, now even more than one warrios is allowed, why?. The message from GW is clear: buy the starter set if you want to play plague marine team.

yes same here. i painted up a team from a plague marine box for last edition of kill team, was really hoping i could use them! But no, no choice here

I’m starting to think they won’t nerf elites. They will just buff the heck out of horde teams. Power creep is real.
If everyone gets buffed and becomes broken nobody will be broken

personally im hoping for that. nerfs end up with everyone being a compendium team again, buffs bring the fun to all teams
I haven't played a game yet but this edition of Kill Team seems all over the place rules/balance wise.
The balance is pretty Effed right now, but hopefully it will balance out

This team is going to be very rough to play against. I like that they aren’t ignoring Piercing 1 - that’s super frustrating.
They do get the 4+ feel no pain though, arguably worse, especially with the ploy to make it -2 damage

Imagine Plague Marine vs. Plague Marine. The wound tracking sounds really messy.
Do the poison tokens get removed when they trigger the damage?
I don't see anything that would indicate it being removed.
