    I began Operation MGGA (Make Garage Great Again) last year and it was a huge success; my garage was a disaster and completely unsafe with crap and clutter everywhere. I installed shelves and cabinets, a plastic grid floor mat and cleaned/organized for several weekends in a row.
    It's still not great but summers in Canada are short so as soon as it warms up I'll be back at it, more shelving, more tools and more better. MGGA stage 2!

    I am new to the channel and I bench watch your videos. Have now rectangular eyes and a lot more knowledge about EVERYTHING! I hope you don't mind that I am your student and you are my mentor. You have so much positive life in you which is so needed in this world! Watching your channels already helped me with issues and projects on my car and in the house. I like that you can explain thing your way and not the technical bla bla. Only if you can explain it in easy words, you truly understand your topic. I like your jokes! You came a long way what I can see from watching all your videos. I can hear and see hardship in you but your positive motivation is stronger. You are on the right track to become a very successful lady!
    Now back to more bench watching your videos😁

    Garage is coming out great, love the shelves, as a electrician, you should change out the old fluorescent strip lights on your ceiling and put in L.E.D. wrap around lights . It would be better for your projects and mostly your eyes. Hope this helps you.

    That's a brilliant idea regarding your paint storage in Mason jars. I'm going to start doing that myself. It sure beats keeping the bulky cans and probably keeps the paint sealed better than keeping it in the can, too.

    On lightly touched up holes on drywall I use a damp sponge (4x7x2 HomeDepot/Lowes) and it dissolves the drywall/topping compound without sanding. Excuse me again, when I assemble furniture or shelving that comes in a box I use wood glue and find that it sturdifies (is that a word?) it. Once again great content and great to see Charlie.

    Great project and very much needed. I too have been upgrading and organizing my garage bit by bit. I just bought a real Husky tool box to try and organize my tools, your and Mickbeth's videos inspired me to try and be more organized. Nothing worse than having to go search for your tools when you're in the middle of a mod install or car project

    You know what I wish for? Your weather! It’s still only hitting a high of 4c up here with dark, gloomy, depressing weather. At least this video will give me incentive to get things sorted in my garage once it gets a bit warmer. 👍🏻
    Garage is looking very slick! You even apologize for not having the stabilizer on your camera for that brief little bit. This is why we keep coming back. It’s the little things. Other channels give you vertigo with all that fast change of angle POV shooting. It’s horrible.
    Can’t wait for the next vid! 👍🏻

    Note to self for the next time you opt to install cabinets. Go to HD and buy a 1"x4"x10' board. Mount said 1x4 at your 40" measurement (use a level to keep it level). Then set the bottom of the cabinets on the ledger and screw them into the studs. Added benefit, the ledger board adds a lot of strength to the cabinets. Doing it this way, I can install cabinets like that myself, and they're always level and on the mark.

    I do the exact same thing with my unused paint. It will last forever if you remove the big air gap that is left behind in the old paint tin. You can always add a little water to thin it out.

    You've got really good with the music editing, and editing to music. The transition between the jazz and metal was spot on, and the point where you cut the music as you slapped the top of the cupboard was totally pro! A great video.

    Not sure if it has been mentioned but putting some of them lights along the top of the new cabinets, toward the back, should give you more reflective indirect no glare lighting off the ceiling.

  • @eclifton4070
    @eclifton4070 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Using a large wet sponge to level patches is far better than sanding and will retain the drywall texture and not leave dust everywhere. Just a tip for the future. And, you just need to add water to your paint. It just needs to be thinned. Cheers!

  • @jimren5638
    @jimren5638 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    That idea with the jars of left over paint is a a great idea. Why wouldn't you do that? Those mini rollers are soooo handy. You could have thinned the paint with a little water.

    I’d recommend more overhead ceiling led lights. I used hyperikon bulbs (6000k) for my garage to convert the fluorescent fixtures, best thing I ever did aside from revamping my hardware storage. But there’s tonnes of cost friendly light solutions out there.

  • @RigiLiquid945
    @RigiLiquid945 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh shit! Those hinges on the cabinets!!! Watch out for those, Sarah!!!!!!!! That cabinet door style is perpetually trying to kill me in my lab. I open a door and the whole thing jumps off the cabinet and tries to smother me by beating my face in. Just make sure to tighten the two half Phillips / half flat screws about once every month or two.....if you don't....sadness will ensure!!!! If you keep up on it, they are actually very smooth, long lasting hinges.

    Could make a list of items in each of the cabinets, using a clear packet to hold the paper in - the packet is attached to door via tape and the paper can slide in/out for updating or replacing as products are swapped out or items are moved around to different cabinets. good for helping restocking needs or if having a helper find something. also good for keeping track of what you already have -if its on the list should have it - if its not on list then yeh need it - or if its crossed off the list yeh ran out of it and need to restock lol.
