Watching Pochettino play Jedi as a hybrid “6” along tessman was super interesting and worked well. Curious what we look like against better competition Also love seeing how much fun Musah seems to be having on that right side Tessman was my MOTMatch!
Over a year? This was the most complete performance I have seen from the US for almost 6 years now, hell some older fans would argue for near a decade. Not once did I have this much fun watching a USMNT side for the entire 5 year stint of Berhalter. It was the most night and day performance I had ever seen and the first time I could be proud to say I support this national team and recommend outsiders to watch them without fearing they might watch a game where America plays the most boring soccer they had ever seen (and potentially losing to lesser opponents). Also that Jamaica game for USMNT fans who actually follow every match from every youth level to senior team and observing all the players and their weekly performances in Europe, gave us more positives than negatives. We were far more satisfied with the performance and result despite letting Jamaica take the offensive in the second half when the substitutes were implemented. Mainly because the players were actually getting physical on the defense and Pochettino forcing to actually fight in an away game against physical opponents. That alone weighed out any "shaky" or negative concerns we had because we had never seen that with Berhalter. Under him, they would collapse the second the players had pressure while defending. Meanwhile, Pochettino's push for them to become a more resilient team who will put up a fight reminded us how the USMNT played during the 2000's-early 2010's. A team, that despite being significantly being weaker than Mexico or the other nations at the time, still were determined to make those nations FIGHT for their win. They wouldn't go down so easily and it showed with how they would be able to pull upsets against arguably some world class nations.
For the most he was good this camp and last Ream is definitely starting to show his age we just need a guy to step up and take it from him and hopefully whoever does can pass as well
We played better than last time, I guess. Missed a pen, 2 (fairly) disallowed goals, lost 2-3 by a Panama pen... It's just unlucky man. But fair game for Panama, I love them too, hoping the best for them 🇨🇷❤🇵🇦
First time stumbling across this page - love the pod! Got a subscriber out of me. One thing that caught my attention was the 9 convo: Balo actually had goal contributions in his last 3 games before he dislocated his shoulder. Pepi has been an absolute dawg but Balo is still my number one.
Stg, as a Jamaican, we got so many chances to equalise that Shamar Nicholson blew, n that first half was disastrous, once again Jamaica does the thing where we have 15-30 minutes of great plays but struggle to convert, the second half was better but we have been weak in the lines, giving too much space (especially that 4th goal god damn), getting caught in transition. We have a lot of problems, but there is hope, n I believe in McClaren so we need some more time. Also, y'all spot on with the take about Jamaica. We been saying it for years, we not consistent n are probably one of the few teams that are guranteed to play worse at home. Idk😅
Most Fluid game I’ve seen from USA, well at least since the Gregg era. I know it’s a game against Jamaica but I remember a couple of months ago, they struggled to beat Jamaica when Gregg was in charge
Sargent. Wright. Balogun. They are all injured. It's good to have depth. Turner and McKenzie need replacing. Jamaica: missed pk. uncalled Ream handball pk. 3 players lost passports so missed the 2nd leg. the ricochet for the own goal. This team is cursed.
You guys are such panama haters bro. Usa losses and gets grouped or out of the world cup and you mention NOTHING of USA hitting a roof, and canada barely beats surinam and yet nothing bad about canada. When usa losses i want you guys to have this energy towards the us . Its football , panama and costa rica are both good teams in the area , u just expect panama to win every single game??

No. US vs Mexico 2:0 and 3:0 in last two Nations League and 2:0 vs Canada in NL final were as good if not better.
Nations League finals under BJ was as good. (Right before Berhalter was brought back in)
Dude wrote a book and doesn’t even know what he’s talking about
McKenzie was solid what are you talking about? Ream needs to get the boot though
Agreed. He played way better than Ream and has been improving in Europe so far.
For the most he was good this camp and last Ream is definitely starting to show his age we just need a guy to step up and take it from him and hopefully whoever does can pass as well
John brooks, anyone? 🤷🏽♂️. While he’s the first to come to mind I have no idea how he’s doing currently, though.

So far it looks good
Cardoso, Tessmann, McKennie is the best midfield trio we can make

Hearing Pochettino's name being mispronounced. It's not that hard. Even the premier league commentary never used that pronunciation 😂
