For a content creator, standing arguing with them is comedy gold. However, for the average citizen, you should get their shoulder numbers then just tell them they are dismissed, to leave you alone and that further contact will constitute harrassment. Then refuse to discuss further, clam up, say nothing, respond to nothing. Police property is public property and they have no power unless and until you break a law.

The most disturbing part of the interaction is the fact that the inspector assumes that you were trying to get a rise out of him and also that you must be up to no good because you’ve asserted your right to be anonymous. No sense of objectivity. The sergeants knowledge of what is private is laughable. These two fools probably spend our tax £s harassing the public and letting criminals have a good time breaking the law.

    • @thisnoize7

He didn't assume he was getting a rise out of him..
That was simply a desperate attempt to gain leverage in a debate that he was being logically obliterated in. His other choice was to stand there in silence, corrected and schooled.
Assert your rights lawfully and ignore their directives - and you will soon find that the drivel that comes out of their mouth is purely improvisational horseshit that is fabricated on the spot.

Unfortunately, although the question of a right to privacy was correctly implied, the uploader was very clearly making an attempt to get a rise from the two officers and ,having been advised of the private property boundary, chose to reenter straight after on the guise of looking at the manhole covers and then made attempts to identify and dox the vehicles of serving police officers, potentially putting them at risk of reprisals by anyone who doesn't want to waste ti e hanging around outside a police station.

@@20AcreLife Precisely!! How can a human being be legally defined as a lving being??? impossible!!! Common people that work the land and have no title and were to be considered slaves to the kings and queens. Those in parliament used to own the serfs to work on their land; like Oliver Cromwell, why he fought for the common man against the king. The king used to believe he could do anything he liked because the first king claimed the land as their own. magna charta created the first legal document that prevented the king from abusing their powers against the people, and it still exists today.

Does the UK actually deem a police station as "private property"? That's ridiculous, as long as you aren't in a restricted area, you should have a right to be anywhere any member of the public is. And if the public taxes pay for the poilice stations, then it's public, not private.

Watching you rip into them is wonderful to watch... The look on the Sergeant's face when you mentioned public transport was priceless, as though they were too good for that mode of travel....... You were correct in your comment about their vehicles and despite their drivel about a right to privacy there has been legal precedent set since at least the mid 1980's which clearly states that a vehicle on a public road, including the interior of that vehicle, is a public place. That is the reason that Police can photograph the interior of a car with a speed camera device and look inside through the windows without breaching privacy legislation.

  • @shelleylyme6402

The police are bound to a hierarchy. When accosted by two or more, you should require them to identify whom is the most senior and address ONLY that one. If they are of equal rank, then it's the one you've been employing the longest. Now you will hold firm control and won't be allowing yourself to be bounced backwards and forwards between them, as here.
It's so simple, but I've never yet seen any auditor who can grasp this utterly fundamental point.
