      We all depend on farmers and food to sustain our food chain. And food needs to be organic and not some lab produced stuff that isn't even organic. Organisms consume organisms.

      the problem is the concentration of production.
      for example the netherlands. about 80 procent of it's land mass is agricultural, however we also export 80 procent of the yield. this shows that atleast our farmers are not required for national demand, rather for global demand.

      At School I remember my Economics teacher saying that by joining the Common Market the UK would have an unbelievable opportunity for expanding and promoting its export trade. In particular he identified steel manufacturing, the coal industry, ship building, car manufacturing, forestry, fishing, agriculture and also burgeoning oil industry. Within 10 years every single industry had been sold down the river. Many is the time I've wished to speak to that ignorant tw*t.

      chriscurtain1816 People would think the EU is a good idea because it's better than living on an island run by a rightwing political party that doesn't have a problem with killing off the vulnerable and the citizens it considers 'different'. The EU actually has elections so isn't undemocratic. How many of the current crop of Tory prime ministers have been elected? If you voted for Brexit you have made the UK a nastier place, more intolerant, more selfish,more inward looking and more backwards. Your children and grandchildren have had their opportunities shrunk, the cost of living has increased partly because of Covid, partly because of Ukraine and Brexit and no doubt you're fine with energy companies and supermarkets making ridiculous amounts of profit too, less choice of food, less NHS staff because the Europeans didn't feel welcome any more, you're also obviously fine with decreased human rights, right to protest, medicine shortages, food shortages, decreased workers' rights, more money vanishing to God knows where, yet somehow it's the fault of refugees and asylum seekers who might actually be highly qualified and be able to work in the NHS or fill other positions, or it's the fault of whichever group of people the rightwing newspapers tell you it's the fault of. Of course it's got nothing to do with the current corrupt Tories who during Covid gave billions of pounds to their mates for useless PPE and ventilators that didn't work and no doubt are giving quite sizable contracts to their friends who own hotels to house allegedly 'illegal' migrants rather than creating safe routes to come to the UK when it is actually legal as part of the Geneva Convention on Human Rights for refugees and asylum seekers to choose which country they would like to live in.The Tories are spending money on sending already traumatised people to Rwanda when they know it's not safe, sending money to France to help with the UKs borders which isn't the responsibility of France who quite rightly are upset by how that awful man Boris Johnson and his friends who negotiated Brexit were as xenophobic as they could possibly be,when the Dublin agreement meant failed asylum seekers could be returned to other EU countries, and you're obviously alright with the deprived parts of the UK going under because the Tories couldn't care less (perish the thought that money given to the EU actually helped improve things for those areas which are now decaying even more) and the UK has lost more income per household because of the unwise decision of Brexit. And you're obviously alright with the isolationism of the US and the UK when the EU has a more sensible approach and realises that things like climate change, wars, migration are all global issues that affect Europe and other countries too. It would be much better to be part of a peace project like the EU that hasn't been at war with its member countries for ages.

      You cannot reform a thing that is built on principles from the orthogonal universe to fit its perpendicular sister universe. Tries like that lead to revolutions. But recalling the French Revolution, the Soviet Revolution, the Long March in Chine and so on, disincentivises any revolutionary attempts. Those cruel saviours of the past were ready to bear the cost and moral deprivation in the face of the Great History. Now, we know how deceptful these empty premises were. Because people is just people, with all its strengths and weakness, an obvious element of the system always discarded by the saviours of humanity and leaders into the "bright future". It is funny that deceptors, like insects, prevail in political ecosystem. It must be yet another feature of the strengths and weakness of people.

      @Wendeta-hq2cp Wrong again. The Irish Constitution needed amendment to accept the Lisbon Treaty. The Irish electorate rejected the amendment. After consultation and receiving assurances the wording of the ammendment was rewritten and was passed at a second referendum. The Irish government were in favour of the Treaty but were required to amend the Constitution. How exactly did this involve the EU who cannot impose a vote on a member state.

    • @andrewmarkham8024
      @andrewmarkham8024 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @alanjeffs-ep8lq As my response above the EU cannot require a member state to hold a vote. Denmark rejected the Maastricht Treaty. After consultation and being given concessions, Denmark voted in favour of the revised proposal. This is how a modern democracy functions. The Irish Constitution requires amendment to accept EU Treaties. The Irish voted against the proposed amendments. In both cases the amendment was reworded to be acceptable to the electorate. In both cases the Irish government was in favour of accepting the Treaty. The EU does not require member states to hold a vote/referendum. How did they force another vote? In all stated cases the electorate were not voting on the same proposal. Note the EU did not change the wording as the original proposals were the work of the member states governments.

I just wish to add that this was the biggest demonstration so far ( almost 300 k people came to Warsaw) but not the first. The previous peaceful protest was pacified, farmers were beaten with truncheons and sprayed with gas.
    Although no changes in jurisdiction have been introduced by Tusk and within the first months of his government the constitution has been fully disregarded, reforms and investments stopped, reversed, international firms started to close down and move out of Poland, factories closed, more and more workers are unemployed ( this in the country with the second lowest unemployment rate in EU ) .After thirty yrs we again had the political prisoners, Tusk forcibly took over TVP station, houses are searched , the house of the former minister Ziobro, seriously ill man, was entered without any note or consent while the president was staying in hospital, and as for the farmers , for the last 3 months that are trying to meet Tusk, he doesn’t want to meet hence the occupational strike in the Parliament . We are watching our country once again falling apart, destroyed by our leftist compatriots. Thanks again for your report.

      The previous gov was doing the same politics w.r.t. EU but they played a spectacle, probably to win sth for themselves. The main regulations were always placed on Poles, like VAT tax, often higher than anywhere in EU, with the famous sighs "how bad EU is that it forces us (= gov) to put on you (Poles) so high taxes; it is not us - it is EU!" The main route is drilled everywhere in EU, regardless what spectacle is played for the publicity. They know that to implement some orders in some countries they have to use tricks; otherwise, indeed people could go on the streets. And of course various countries like Russia, hunting for unrests and chaos, would do their politics easier during turmoils. Between the hammer of orders and an the anvil of security new world order is being forged. Anyone remembers strangely active "incidents" a couple of yers ago? Now we hear silence. Like it was on purpose to steer society by herding. Yep, just a conspiracy, nothing else. After all it is always soooo gooood. Til someone uncovers some old Scrap. Wow. From far right to hard right. Quite peculiar way to say common sense. xD Did you hear the story of Tusk's grandfather? He was a Wehrmacht soldier. xD Tusk has a nickname, lokaj. Which in English means footman.
