Right? The box and package in general is made to protect the product from all the drops and squeezes that happen during the shipment. I bet it's even better than most cases.
Never thought I’d be watching a video about carrying cases. For VR tech light years in the future. At 3 AM. In the midst of a pandemic. Man, Life is unpredictable.
I was eyeing the official case but didn't think I would be able to squeeze in a battery. Good to know that you were able. I'll probably pick that one up.
@@knownuser09 You didn't think that comment through, did ya? It's a headset that runs off a battery. A battery that has a limited charge capacity. You can plug in an external battery, tuck it in your pocket, and play for more than the 2.5-3 hours the internal battery affords.
AFTER DARK for the same reasons that they put out the same products for phones? Even more compelling since phones tend to work for more than a couple hours per charge...
I'm really waiting for someone to make a small backpack for the Quest. I'd like to add more items to the bag like a battery pack and comfort straps for the headset.
Mike, your enthusiasm and passion for VR is truly amazing. Every single video I see you happier than anyone else could ever be and giving out really useful information at the same time. I am picking up my own Oculus Rift S when it comes out, and you have helped me tremendously in this decision. Never stop making videos, your channel is bound to blow up soon!
Yesterday I was on a flight to Barcelona. I killed some zombies, caught some fish and watched a movie on an enormous cinema screen. The fact that I can take the quest with me and start playing in less than 2 mins is truly disruptive!
You know what, I'll go with the original one, I really like it. Thanks for the review, you're very professional. Can't wait to hear your review about the VR Cover!
The Lowepro is a nice catch for me since i keep them all on a shelf and can put one of several headset models in there when actually taking it somewhere.
Holy crap the price of the Lowepro in the UK. $60 here in Australia or 33 UKP / 42 USD. I pre-ordered the Oculus case with my Quest. Counting the days. Thanks for the great coverage.
Love the videos Mike keep up the great work. You and the guys on F. Reality have gotten me into VR and I've ordered the 128gb quest as my first go of VR and can't wait.
How about doing an updated video of this same thing? I have the travel case that came with the extra battery and strap for the Quest 2 now and wondering if they have new ones out there better than the one I have.
Thanks for the guide. I'd found your channel after looking for details on the current state of VR after using the Gear VR for a good while, and it's been very informative, helping me come to the ultimate conclusion to pre order a Quest, and now I've gone for the official case for it as well as I just love the look and design. I'd love to get a Rift at some point as well as I do have a PC that is VR ready, but for me the social aspect and portability of the Quest wins over graphical fidelity, and the ability to cast to a TV adds to the group play experience in a way that was noticeably lacking from the Gear VR experiences. Thank you for these helpful videos. I look forward to more to guide me in my purchases of games and experiences in the future.
I actually prefer the cheapest one because it has the shoulder strap and you can put those other little parts in a bag so they don’t bump around. And I like the hardshell case
@@mgatelabs LOL I actually cancelled my order for the Oculus bag, which I had placed as soon as it became available. Not because of price, but because I think the Lowepro will suit my needs better. Either one would be awesome - because it will have my Quest inside it! Woohoo!

Light of sun or strong lamps (i not sure about lamps) can by lenses focus on screen and burn it which results in no working screen where it was damaget. In some vid about quest other guy mentions that when he left oculus go on a table morning sun burn some pixels.

I always take my go with me when I travel so I will be investing in a case for my Quest. I have mine set up so I can remote into my work computer and that's impressed some colleagues when I'm on the road. I expect to do the same with the quest. I hate when I hear people talk about the mobile processor in the quest like it's a con. Yes, we all know that it's not as powerful as a pc, but it's a lot cheaper, and it's not meant to have desktop graphics. For me the portability is totally worth it. I also think that the go is pretty good for certain games. There are certainty some titles with terrible graphics, but games like DropDead, Virtual Desktop (yes, I know it's an app), Dark Days..and many other's look and run very well on the GO.
Thanks for the reviews! I wanted something with a bit more room for extras, so went for Lowepro after watching this vid last night. Looks like I'm not the only one, because now it's only available from a 3rd party seller for a higher price.
