  • Another fun video, more so awesome design for my Mag-lite 2D cell flashlight. It is now converted to a rechargeable 18650 battery flashlight that uses micro USB to charge.

    Hahaha you are a charecter, I appreciate the way you keep yourself entertained man, I have a similar sense of humor. I never thought I would be subbing a flashlight mod/review. Nice work too by the way.

    I have one of these flashlights and this should do great for it. It's been sitting not used because I hate buying D cell or even C cell batteries for things. Thanks!

    Personally for me the large hexagonal bit at the bottom sticking out spoils the sleek design of the torch.
    I have one of these mag-lites and I'm looking to convert mine into using LEDs and 18650s.
    Would it still work well if the 3D printed part was the same diameter as the outside of the torch, or are the PCBs too wide to fit in? I mean, it would still stop it rolling as the two pivot points are the bulb end and the bottom.
    I don't have a 3d printer, but I do know someone who has one that I'm sure I could use.

    That's a nice design man. I'm probably trying my own soon for that same Mag.
    Quick question: can you charge the two batteries design with that same board?
    Regarding software I am using Autodesk Fusion 360. It has so far a free license for enthusiasts and startups and is quite easy to learn. It also has an automatic feature for doing threads over a cylinder which is surprisingly easy to use, although I'm not sure if it will be able to recreate this particular one easily. I have only used it for metric ones.

      +Nicholas Haven doesn't it tho.... If you have design skills with CAD or computers, you can do so much cool stuff.

    Awesome! Would you be willing to share the source files for this model (not just the compiled STLs)?

    • @TRYtoHELPyou
      @TRYtoHELPyou  ปีที่แล้ว

      I literally drew them myself, I am the source? Or you mean..... An editable file? Not sure what you are asking for.

      @@TRYtoHELPyou LMAO, yeah, the editable design files. Looking to remix your part a bit for a DIY Maglite based lightsaber build.

    cold you sell me one for a 2 D cell

  • @terrypham6483
    @terrypham6483 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would you be willing to make and sell me one for 5 d-cell batteries? Internal total space of 5 d-cells add to a total height of 11 7/8.” Three 18650 batterie should add to roughly 9 3/4,” therefore leaving nearly 2” of free space. Love the design and ingenuity, but I don’t have the materials to make something like this. I thought about making a PCV sleeve and just putting batteries inside the original housing, but your setup is so slick!

      Sorry man, i dont got the length or the time right now. Thanks for the good words though. I highly recommend not using anything made of Polycythemia Vera. Could be dangerous. I would suggest polyvinyl chloride tubing, however.
