Hello Jarred!!! I’m super impressed about this new Rmax now that I see racing against one sport one SXS as the KRX, even thought we all now is not one of the fastest ones, THANK YOU for showing this to the world. Greetings from Costa Rica
first off,i own a 2020 KRX and a 2018 Wolverine and well..... just try this: send both off of a serious jump, go rock crawling, or hit the whoops at full speed and see which one comes out ok and which one gets out of shape or is out of it's element..or lasts very long doing it.....both have their strong points and the Yamaha isn't a slouch but the KRX is a purpose built machine that handles the high speed and difficult offroad better and is built to take the abuse. Our Wolverine does work around the ranch very well and still has SOME fun aspect, but has limitations on suspension travel, ground clearance, and stability at high speed, but that's not it's primary duty. which one will i take hunting or do work... the Yamaha, which one will i take to Glamis or the Rubicon- the KRX. i will agree that I'm wanting more power out of our KRX, and an exhaust and retune is coming- hopefully someone comes out with a turbo kit soon. i would like to see a rematch of this lineup after an exhaust and re-tune on the KRX to see if it makes a difference against the stock RMAX and by how much....

I just want to make a comment in regard to many people saying “a pure sport vs a sport utility” in a drag race. On flat ground, wether concrete, dirt, gravel etc, it doesn’t matter if the machine is a pure sport or utility. What matters there is power, weight and gear ratio. In this particular drag race, the KRX (special edition) is 75lbs. heavier with a 1” taller tire with only a 4 hp advantage. The outcome is not surprising. KRX is listed as 1969 lb. curb weight and the Wolverine is 1884 lb. wet weight. However, let the race be on an off-road course and the KRX would likely dominate, which it should because of its sport hardware. Looking at engine stats, the KRX has plenty of high horsepower potential with its 11.5:1 compression ratio, dual 50mm throttle bodies and big camshaft profiles. Kawasaki was just very conservative with its computer programming. For comparison, the Wolverine is sitting at 11.2:1 compression ratio and dual 48mm throttle bodies, which, might I add is more than the Honda Pioneer and Talon and more than the Polaris 1000 NA engines. Could the KRX use more aggressive tuning, yes. But it is still a killer machine that deserves some recognition. For more info on this machines potential look up Shock Therapy’s video on the KRX suspension.
@@bruddamelon9803 I currently own multiple brands and all have pluses and minuses.
