Catching a variety of fish on Lake Macquarie.

- Back onto Lake Macquarie during a very shutdown few weeks. With bites few and far between can i manage to have a decent few hours on the water. Casting soft plastics and vibes i go searching for some fish and luckily end up catching some. Enjoy the episode more to come so subscribe to stay in the loop legends.
Went fishing yesterday and the wind was crazy in Newy. Great video as always.

Great video, loved it! I haven't had a lot of experience using soft plastics but watching you haul those fish in, I think I'd better start giving them a go! They seem to work a lot better than bait.
Thanks alot, its an enjoyable way to fish i think. Just start out with plastics around 3 inch an use jigheads that suit the depth of water your fishing. If its shallow 1/4 ounce is good if its 20 ft or over use 3/8 once. Most colours work at some point 👍

I didn't get a chance to head your way yet mate because of this weather front coming through and I'm in the process of getting some work done on the old boat.

Not like last year.
I've had a bit on since I got back from Tuross heads.
Had issues with my rooftop tent and had to wait till after Easter to get that sorted.
Lucky warranty fixed that and got a new tent.
Then transducer sit itself on the fish finder so I had to fit a new finder then I've organised to get some welding done on the old boat but still not till next week.
Sounds a bit with what's been going on with you with the problems with your boat and minn koda

You got one last fish session in before the minor flooding and still managed to get a few in shut down conditions👍 I come home late this arvo from Mid North Coast and all of the lakes were filthy and some rivers I crossed on the highway were really flowing. Maybe this will shake the fish up and get them on the chew. I guess I'll find out tomorrow🤞
Yer mate was lucky to sneak in a session mid week. Cant make it any worse it has to help pete should get them biting. Lake should be ok i dont think we copped that much rain here like they did. Good luck 🤞

No a bad little session there mate. A few nice flatty....... Ive been told by an old school fisherman that all the flatty once they get to around mid 50's and up they are all female, the male's turn into females. Not sure if that's true or not but Ive never seen a male bigger than mid 50's and the only way I know how to tell is the egg sacks and obviously when the female are fall of row it's pretty easy to see. I wont keep anything over mid 50's now days especially if there fall of row.

Cant compain mate some nice fish caught an i didnt get soaked either. Im not too sure about the breeding etc not anything ive really looked into as im already 95% catch an release anyway. I just enjoy being out there in nature and having a cast really. Thanks for watching chris 👍 hopefully your catching a few fish out there.
@@Lowysfishing it's been a little quiet for me unfortunately lately I've had some serious car issues with my only vehicle with a tow bar so I've only been able to get out when or if I'm able to borrow the work ute at the moment and it's been like this since just after Christmas and won't have it back for at least another 4 weeks...... Obviously I can still do some land based fishing but it's just not the same 😔 it's sending me crazy not being able to go out whenever I feel like it. But I'll get there soon enough hopefully

Thanks Ivan, the clip is a no knot fas-snap in xl silver from ej todd. U can only use it once u take the split ring off but 👍

Hey mate. Cracka video as always. You may have been asked this question a thousand times but I’m just curious, do you use scents at all with your plastics? I never see you use it in the videos. Cheers mate.
Its pretty rare that il use scent mate. I guess if im catching nothing i might consider it but normally i do ok without it. One of those things really. Some ppl swear by it and i dont really bother with it.

Cheers for the vid mate, quick question, when it rains like it has the last couple of days does that mean the river is a no go for you ?
All depends on how much debris will come down. I dont mind a bit of rain to discolour the water and flush out some bait. Too much water and u get logs cows an all sorts floating down there. Most likely though il fish the lake until i get a good look at the river 👍
