I love that you show different ways to do each step. ❤ when I was taught to quilt my great aunt emphasized that she was teaching me how she liked to do things but I could always choose to do things in a different way if that made more sense to MY brain. And I always enjoy seeing how someone else does their steps. Thank you for sharing

I make my patchwork quilts by using strip sets... goes alot faster♡ Your quilts are gorgeous. 😊 With nesting the seams I finger press each row before ironing and it makes it easier at the ironing board♡
Thanks for your nice comment! I've done other patchwork-type quilts where I used sashing in between blocks of squares. There are so many fun ways to do patchwork! Thanks for checking out my channel!
Thank you for the suggestion/reminder! I did think to use that other black print fabric for 2 of the corners, but then decided to just use it in the middle of 2 opposite sides. I plan to turn those sides to the top and bottom of my bed and then they won't show as much. Thanks again for commenting and for checking out my channel!
So did you decide on blues, yellows, black etc ? would this be good for an anything goes quilt? I have a bunch of 2.5 inch squares but in all colours. Should i find 3 colour ways or just go for it all? This quilt is lovely!
Hi there, I think it all depends on what you have in mind, or if you're trying to make a quilt that will go with the color scheme in a certain room, or something like that. I'm not familiar with an "anything goes" quilt, but I think mine is probably in that category. I found that most of the fabrics that I had originally cut were in the blues or orange/red ranges, but then I did cut so many other fabrics in other colors, that I think the predominance of blues and oranges eventually got lost. I didn't have many greens or purples in this quilt though. I decided on the turquoise batik fabric for the thin 1" border because I already had that fabric and thought it would be a nice highlight around the squares to kind of unify the look, and I bought that black printed fabric with the stars because I wanted a dark color as the final 5" border, and I loved the print design on it. This quilt will be used in my main bedroom, which will have sage green and brown walls (see my other video at th-cam.com/video/CfRVZaUGZw8/w-d-xo.html), and I think blues and greens go well together, so that's another reason I used the turquoise fabric as one of the borders. I hope this helps! Have fun with your upcoming project, and thank you for commenting and watching!

If your short on border length, use corner squares to make up the difference. Looks like you planned it
