The Drum Major is a smart individual as well. He's extremely professional and got a great "Military Bearing" with elegance and style. Well Done that D/M.
Excellent video as usual! The Piccolos sounded great! The marches played were, 1) 1:51-Arromanches 2) 5:41-Army of the Nile 3) 9:12-The Mad Major (Return to Barracks) 4) 9:54-Arnhem 5) 13:02-Wellington 6) 16:14-Namur
Great video and many thanks to our Military Events cameraman for terrific videos without any camera- shaking or making my head go dizzy. Great to watch. Thanks.
Thank you for another great video @Military Events. Difficult to film with everyone else around, I imagine . And thanks as always @Delvin Rodriguez for letting me know what's being played, very Helpful
Must agree with the comment about @Delvin Rodriguez. My first visit today. Most helpful to get the names of the marches outlined. Rounded off a lovely visit. Thanks.
Hello Military Events. Thank you for your beautiful videos that I watch and record. What a pleasure ! Small question: here, in Belgium, my friends and I often discuss about the uniform of the drum major: why is he in yellow sometimes, and that he does not wear the same uniform as the musicians?
It's a bad feeling when you nearly lose your footing. I always disliked marching after a rain, when the entire roadway is still wet. The manhole covers are as slick as ice.
Kenneth J Alford (Major Ricketts) and John Phillip Sousa's Military Marches are both excellent and it cannot be said one is better than the other. Congratulations to BOTH composers
I often cannot help but think that Sousa marches are a sort of Bandstand music, excellent but for music to play at the head of a column of troops, I much prefer Britsh and German composers.
@@Peter-lm3ic A vast majority of Sousa's marches were not written with the intent of troops to march to them. Sousa spent 12 years of his career as leader of the US Marine Band, and it can be seen that there are a select few of the 35-40 marches that he wrote in that period of his life (1980-1892) were truly "marching" marches. "Semper Fidelis," "Right-Left," "Sound Off," "Right Forward," and "Guide Right" to be specific. Of course, there were others outside that period which may have been written for street parade, (such as his very first published march, "Review") and countless more that have been used in this capacity, but the vast majority were written and performed for any by a static band, you could say. In his illustrious civilian career, spanning nearly 40 years with over 15,000 concerts worldwide, the Sousa Band only ever marched eight parades. That being said I do agree many of Sousa's marches claim their best home on the bandstand, and I agree even more to your point of preferring British and German marches when on the march! In fact, many military bands in the US (at least in my Marine Corps experience) prefer to perform Alford's marches over Sousa's when on the march! I can't tell you how many times I've played "Eagle Squadron," "Standard of St. George," "Army of the Nile," "HM Jollies," and the likes when on parade!
More volume from the euphonium part, please. Nothing against the player, but better if the composition of the band had two players. Poor balance at the trio/counter melodies.

Great video! Love the drum major's state dress
There is no other military band in the world that can beat the British ones.

Great video , as always and yes the Piccolos are wonderful
A very tight and polished performance. The band sounded great.
The bass drum was well muted. Nothing worse than a boingy bass drum.
Great band thanks.
What an amazing performance from the Coldstream Guards! The cymbals sounded perfect! And the bass drum were perfectly tuned! ❤❤❤
Army of the Nile 👍My favorite!
I'm sorry I'm not good at English

Thanks mate, the tourists are a bloody nightmare in April so I try my best!
@@militaryevents107 You did great.
The Coldstream cymbalist is also great just like the Scots Guards cymbalist! Every crash sounded fantastic with the ringing out of the cymbals.
I wish more cymbalists would do this!
He most certainly was ,,all the musicians are fantastic ,but every once in awhile something hits you ,and the Base Drum player where in tune 🥰
Yes, I agree.
What a fab Drum Major so smart ❤
Another fantastic video thanks 😊

Any word leaking yet on the lineup of Drum Majors for the big events in London in May & June, Semaj Bronson?
@@susandreger-epps3676 the five Drum Majors were on Parade, today, on Horseguards.
@@johnanderson2431 Good to know!! Thank you. This is such an exciting month.
Some fantastic marches played here, but it has to be Army of the Nile that does it for me.

Today he wears state ceremonial uniform for the queens birthday.
I have wondered about that at times.
@@adam3rdcanvey That makes sense.
Well done the trombonist who slipped on the metal manhole. First rate.

Always good to see the Guards on parade

中國以前沒有閱兵儀式,現在的也是跟西方國家學的。舊時中國的音樂沒有在閱兵中可以演奏的。中國現在的一切也都是西方社會的延續。
Again the best for last, The Mad Major and Namur.
Happy birthday 96
Thanks pal
Alford’s March “Army of the Nile “ is one of the greatest marches. His work is superior to Sousa.
Definitely not superior to Sousa in fact inferior to Sousa.
Get a grip.

Crap trombone writing. A real bore to play. But Sousa he’s magic.

這個天氣...那個帽子...腦溢血也可能吧?
as it was 21st of April I thoght they might have included a 'Happy Birthday' for Her Majesty.
They did, in the courtyard of Windsor Castle, during the changing of the guard
HOW DO THEY SEE WHERE THEY'RE GOING WHILE WEARING THE BEARSKIN HATS
Why do sometimes when the band leaves wellington barricks the guards out front sometimes salute as they leave and others don't even acknowledge them
Perhaps it's when the Guard have Colours on parade, the Colours are always acknowledged.
