Whatever happened to the old way of division? Never had a problem with it. Have been doing this with my great granddaughter. It was easier for her my way than the time it took us to understand this way. Then if it isn’t done this way she won’t get credit for it. As long as you get the correct answer it shouldn’t matter. So many things in school nowadays are just BS.

Yes, I completely agree, if you get the correct answer it shouldn’t matter. This is just another way of going through the process. I have people that love this method and I have people that want nothing to do with it. It’s all a matter of personal preference. I at least like to present different options and then people can take it from there as far as what they prefer. There’s more than one correct way to go about this. Long division/the old way is still a great option. Again, just a matter of personal preference.
