Earth (and thus Dylan) is the only band I’ve never missed buying a CD. I’ve bought every album upon release. I can’t say the same for any other band I like. I’ve been a fan since the 90’s. The simplicity - and that includes creative talent, yes - is what I like about Earth (Dylan’s guitar).
00:00 Conquistador 13:12 When the Horses Were Shorn of Their Hooves 18:57 And then the Crows Descended 19:59 Scorpions in the Mouth 25:43 Reaching the Gulf
Carlson was responsible for the track of a German film called Gold. (You can find one on TH-cam). Real nice work, and this reminds me a little of that.
Just beautiful. A more folkie vibe then his work with Earth. I appreciate that, as I also listen to folk a lot. Love all his work though. Something for every mood.
I have EXTRA-CAPSULAR EXTRACTION, EARTH 2:SPECIAL LOW FREQUENCY VERSION and PHASE 3: THRONES AND DOMINIONS on CD, with PENTASTAR: IN THE STYLE OF DEMONS on its way. As a long fan of Dylan Carlson, the genius godfather of drone-metal, I'm amazed to say that, in a different way, the sounds on CONQUISTADOR are every bit as groundbreaking and brilliant as Earth's 1990's releases.
speed is not the only thing to be considered when evaluating one's skill at playing the guitar. Carlson's control over harmonic choices and his composition of musical ambients are noteworthy!
Dylan Carlson has taught me that it’s not always about jamming a lot of interconnecting ideas into one song; patience, ambience, tension, texture can go a long way.
Miguel IR I’d argue that Dylan Carlson was right at that forefront and is one of the pioneers of drone/experimental music. He was releasing music as Earth as early as 89. I think he gets overlooked
Lol seriously? He bought the shotgun! But I don't believe he was involved...yet he knew and still knows something ... and did nothing, said nothing! What makes him cumplice.
@@brietebank9582 Of course he seemed off. He was a dope addict at the time. It's easy to exploit an addict. Also easy to edit the video to support the conspiracy.
❌Would have enjoyed this much more if it wasn’t for commercials popping up every 3 minutes. Kind of hard to get into this albums “headspace” with the silly, money-making, interruptions.
Dylan Carlson is a great storyteller.

cycloptical26 That’s how I discovered this amazing talent .. great film as well ..
This is a fantastic record!
Side note, Dylan Carlson is a fan of Van Halen, also Emma Ruth Rundle plays on this release. Go check her out if don't know her already.
woah! this sounds just like early earth records, but evolved! Especially like a more fleshed out version of pentastar or phase 3! Really awesome
Epic, can't wait for my vinyl to arrive!

reminds me more of Harry Partch or Terry Riley than 'folkie', whatever that is.
Reaching For The Gulf is too good. Such a great album, well done DC.
think this is my favourite from Dylan so far. 27 years of being entranced though, thats pretty epic.
nik hb what
Jon Bell He meant he's listened to Dylan Carlson's music for a long time, and I'm pretty sure the first Earth record came out around that time.
Yeah.
The man who unalived kurt cobain can write music well

Smh....should have bought cat food with the money you spent on this garbage....tf
Phew, pretty great, thx for uploading. What a shame only 32 mns though........
I really needed that dylan
This remainds me of Neil Young "Dead Man" soundtrack
Cuando ya los guitarristas tecnicos aburren dylan carson es una bocanada de aire fresco
Hero. See you in July!
Stupendous
MAN!
Best guitarist of our generation
LOL Not even close!
I love Earth and Carlson but fuck no, he plays a strung out tortoise, thats the beauty of it but not even close lol

Dylan says..... I`M BACK!!!!

Excellent album! Who's that girl on the cover?
Yep, this is Holly Carlson, Dylan's wife.
@@julianapitta he's done well!
Ex wife now
I love this is free to stream..
But ads in the middle of the song ?
Come on !!!
all this new excellent wave of guitarists came from Justin Broadrick or James Plotkin 90's school, all is about sound textures on a electric guitar

Fuck me, this is good.
Could I ask please for clarification - does Emma Ruth Rundle play on the whole record or specific tracks only?
specific tracks only.
'Scorpions in their Mouths' sometimes sounds like Nutshell by Alice In Chains.
I think this guy may have had something to do with Kurt's death.

Im thinking so aswell ...that interview in kurt and courtney is a lil.....off

It’s ok. The background sounds are the most interesting part of the songs. That’s unusual.
Say what really happened in April 1994...
yeah man.
UP
Scorpions In Their Mouths parece la banda sonora de Amores Perros.
@@drone_blues_ claro que SI wey
Shredding requires really good technique but it became a cliche....so let's drone
