My daughter asked for an obvious repair on her tracksuit pants. With a bit of thin interfacing basted on the wrong side, one of your designs would be lovely in a much smaller scale. A one inch circle (or maybe two) would cover the tear while also be noticeable... Thank you for your video 🍄🍄

Yes, for this type (Hitomezashi) of Sashiko, the grid on your fabric works as a guide for individual stitches. A pre-printed grid would be also useful when you draw a pattern for Moyozashi👍

Thank you for the question😊 A Sashiko-stitched cloth like this is commonly called Hana-hukin. A ‘Hukin’ (the general term for this type of a cloth with or without Sashiko) is often used as a food covering, a tea towel or a cleaning wipe. Some viewers seem to use them as a handkerchief too😊
Hi! The fabric I used is Sarashi. It’s a thin cotton fabric from Japan. Thank you for watching! I used 4-ply Sashiko threads for all the patterns in this video. As you can see, some patterns (the yellow ones) look too dense and you can’t see them clearly. When I stitched them in the past videos, I used finer Sashiko threads. It really depends on the pattern you choose and your personal preference. Some of old Sashiko books I have use 2-4 strands of Sashiko thread, but I’ve also seen people using thinner hand sewing cotton threads in more recent Sashiko videos. I don’t think there’s right or wrong ways😊❤️
Hi! I learned Sashiko from old books from Japan but none of them are printed anymore. I don’t have specific titles but I do recommend referring to a variety of books and other resources. In Japan, we often say that Sashiko doesn’t have uniformed rules. Each book shows some stitching tips but they are often slightly different. That’s how I learned what can be adjusted for individual projects and how I can reflect my preferences to my pieces. So I do recommend looking into a wide range of books by different Sashiko artists💕💕
Thank you for asking. This is actually just a non-brand ruler from Daiso Japan. I usually use a transparent ruler with a 5mm grid. It’s really useful for drawing a frame and a grid.😊

I will keep reviewing what I can do😊 As my mother tongue is Japanese, it would save me a lot of time if I could just record audio in Japanese😆 but I thought it would be easier without Japanese audio for international viewers. That’s how I have chosen the current style. At the moment, I have very limited time and resources (and very small income from TH-cam😅) and I can’t afford to add the extra step to write a script and add English audio but🤞

I originally put only English captions without multilingual subtitles on my videos but I received so many requests to put subtitles. This added two extra hours of editing and I only receive very very small amount of money from TH-cam and I can’t afford to commit to it full time. It will save me time if I could just make videos in Japanese. So I’m actually thinking about changing it to Japanese + subtitles if that’s preferable for the viewers.
