Any Jerry Cantrell written project is great, one of the best songwriters ever with or without Layne. Degradation trip vol 1&2 is a masterpiece solo record too, one of the best double records ever
@@TheNothing6 ya he just doesn’t miss in my Book, even 20 years later deg trip vol 1&2 was still my most listened to album of 2022, that album and Jerry in general as a solo act deserves/deserved so much more attention than he got/gets
Man, this is such an awsome album! I can totally remember how excited I was when I heard it was coming out and remember the day I bought it very very clearly. Layne's passing really upset me when it happened and still does to this day... Hearing the remaining band members continuing on kind of makes that sadness a little easier to deal with, but doesn't fill the hole that Layne left. He will never be forgotten!
It’s a solid, powerful record. They had balls to come out with new material under the Alice banner and all in all, they delivered. William is a great singer and does the older material justice while allowing the band to continue with their signature two vocal harmonies, like you mentioned in the video, so that is really good. “Private Hell” is a killer track, amazing guitar work and I really connect with the lyrics. 🎸😊👍🏻
Best songwriter from the grunge scene and flat out one of the best songwriters ever in general, just a fuckin stellar musician, whether it’s his AIC masterpieces or a solo masterpiece like degradation trip vol 1&2 Jerry always delivers. One of the best to ever do it

It might be sacrilegious, but I think this is my favorite AiC album. Dirt is amazing, but it's so depressing it can be hard to listen to. BGWTB isn't nearly as dark, but it's still full of really great songs. Maybe the best writing of Cantrell's career. What a terrific recovery for a band that was all but defunct.
I was a hater of the album at first because i thought they were trying to replace layne, but if you think about it as a whole new and different band, it’s really quite a good album. It has a very different sound than the classic Alice but it’s different in a good way.
You do a great job telling the story with video and audio. It's just my opinion but I don't think you should perform the song by the artist you are telling the story about. You are talented but never sounds as good as just playing the original song.
AIC very unfortunately died when Layne did. The band’s name should have been changed, and I think Jerry made a dick move by capitalizing on Layne’s death by keeping the name. Layne brought AIC with him, created AIC, and correct - can never be replaced. I’m a loyalist, and will always be an AIC fan. Good luck to Duvall, nothing personal. This band with Duvall is not and will never be, AIC.
This album is a masterpiece, front to back it’s loaded with great tunes, Private hell and a looking in view are 2 of AICs best songs regardless of era. I love Layne he’s prob my favorite singer but the band still kicks ass and this album was fantastic. Was a big hit commercially and critically and it was very deserving of that, one of the best comeback albums ever

I like all three albums with Willam. Jerry's solo albums are awesome, too.

Jerry has been my favorite of all the big grunge groups. I am in my 50 s and I grew up with these guys music. It will always be my favorite
