Sir Viv Richards Chewing gum Fearless batting Big boundary Hits big sixes to fastest bowler Without helmet We can just imagine or dream to batting like him stylish batsman

@@satyannair4837 Definitely. I don't remember batsmen naturally becoming like him. I was an Aussie kid watching cricket from 1984 and loved watching the WI play. At the time, they were superb opponents.
What a amazing player he was.brutal strok play, high positive intend. What I love his entry in the ground fearless attitude , walking like a Lion. Love this man.
The nonchalance swagger of this man at the crease is unmatched; the closest thing we have in the modern era is probably Kohli, but even he pales in the presence of Viv. How he is able to yield such power with a toothpick 80's batt is a testimony to his timing, talent and great eye. The ultimate boss.

@@himanshusodha6726 definitely Richard was better than most of current players, but 2 new balls favour bowlers, not batsmen. Initial swing of a ball is very dangerous
Some of the shots which he had played without helmet and with the bat which is much worse than todays quality of bat are way better than today’s top notch players
The bowlers today must be thankful to the big guy upstairs !! Wish he played T20s.. A classy, fearless cricketer with such a nice attitude. Viv - you are indeed the most destructive player of all times, for me. God Bless.
Keep things in context. Lara had a higher average and scored more centuries against consistently strong Australian bowling attacks. He never had the relative luxury of playing against the likes of Simon O'Donell, Mike Whitney. While Richards scored some memorable innings against Australia almost half were against weak attacks when the WI bowling was destroying batting line ups. He had one stellar series against Australia 1979, he averaged 90 something against an attack where Lillee and Thomson were past their best. Every Australian bowling attack he faced ( for that matter Pakistan as well ) had genuine match winning pace as well as spin.
I was at this game.. 12 years old at the time. Dean Jones had a blinder of an innings during the day and then Viv came out and absolutely smashed it out of the park. Looking back, what a privilege it was to see Viv and the West Indies at the top of their game.
No helmet No fear No problem Bigger boundary Big sixes in the crowd Fastest and dangerous bowler Playing like golf 😎😎😎😎 It's call sir Viv Richards great to see him every time 🎉🎉🎉🎉 goosebumps
My favourite aspect of Sir Viv's batting is that he attacked all types of deliveries and aimed to score 4s / 6s off all of them. Defence / leaving and taking risky singles to rotate the strike were never part of his game and he never hesitated while playing his shots. Though he played his shots late after allowing the ball to fully come onto him - he was so confident and self-assured while smashing the opposition's bowling to all parts of the ground. Sir Viv was 'once-in-a-lifetime' batsman and the period that he played cricket in can well be called 'The Vivian Richards Era'.
Fearless along with being a great Batsman. By the 80s, helmets were so common, but Viv refused to wear one. Plus he had one of the longest peaks for a Batsman, around 17 years. that's just remarkable.
