  • Compressed slush meant a good time for a combo attack with front blower and rear blade. However, is this the best way to tackle my property with what I have for equipment? I'm looking for your help on this. The last few storms have been during the weekday and overnight which has meant I'm racing against time in the morning before work to get cleaned up and make it to work on time. Is there a better way? Let me know how you'd do it.

      Thanks Luc! This is a great community so I thought I would throw it out there and see what I get for feedback. Thanks for responding.

    I think you're doing it the best way, especially considering that you get all that done in 20-25 minutes. The snow has been wet and heavy this year. I think I've thrown more water than snow! - Rick

    Those are terrible conditions for any type of equipment Dave. At least with the blower you don't end of with piles of ice blocks the a pusher or plow alone would leave. I thing the best combination is a blow and some kind of scraper like you have whether it be a box blade, pusher or rear blade like you have. Thanks for the video and great job.

    Pretty sure you could see my house if there were no trees on the far horizon at the start of this video. Came to the comments section looking for advice like you. You know I just upgraded to the LX2610 + blower and it's been life-changing! For me the rear blade would be unnecessary but it seems to make sense for you. It's been a weird winter and I'm kinda disappointed I didn't really get to snow blow ~2 ft. of the light fluffy stuff.

      It's been a strange winter for sure, Jim. I don't think we are in the clear yet though. I'm still thinking you are going to be using that blower for at least another month or more.

    My little walk behind blower won’t handle the slush at all.
    This year has been an interesting winter season. To say the least. The 2nd to the last storm that hit us, the ground wasn’t frozen underneath. In fact, it was down right muddy. I did a good job plowing out our neighbors, but made a disaster out of our yard.

      Certainly has been a weird one Gary. Friday to Friday we had a 100 degree temperature swing with the wind chill effect.

    the blower alone is not good enough to scrape all the way down to pavement that you need the rear blade as well? Why is that

      I believe it's because you can change the angle of attack on that blade and the blower box is on skid shoes and lays flat. Plus it is a bit bigger and unable to angle, naturally. The rear blade I can pivot into 3 different angles which I believe makes it a smaller footprint and allows it to "get down" better.

      @@BeginnerforBSeries makes sense. The rear blade has a more aggressive cutting angle. The blowers cutting edge is probably more flat. Should have thought of that. Do you have a paved driveway and what type of cutting edge do you use? Is it metal?

    • @BeginnerforBSeries
      @BeginnerforBSeries  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@simd510 It does make a difference as you can see in the video it's trailing behind where the blower had done it's job and it's still getting snow off the ground. I have a paved driveway but have been known to also raise the shoes and do trails around the house for our dogs. The rear blade has a metal cutting edge.

      @@BeginnerforBSeries does the metal damage your driveway?
