I live in the US, and have to the Bahamas a few times.. I agree it is awfully expensive, even compared to US supermarket prices. The reason is everything is imported in from the US mainland. They hardly make anything there
The Bahamas 🇧🇸 have one of the largest navy on the planet for this reason
The Bahamas are young islands - they arent fully developed to sustain human life (my opinion). They are basically atolls islands with filed in sand, mangroves and lagoons.. There are no mountains or river.
Hawaii also imports and its very expensive but Hawaii is sustainable. Hawaiian can survive without the ships
Bahamas is also too far NORTH outside the caribbean sea: so you dont get that "flush tropical jungle" greenery.... everything looks like Palm Beach/Boca Raton. sort of forced tropical where you can tell the palm trees were shipped in.

Went in 2019 on the cruise 🚢 Rented the car for $80 & drove the whole island in 3-4 hours. Nothing special. Totally agrees with you on your opinion about Bahamas 🇧🇸. After Thailand, Malaysia, Maldives etc Caribbean is very very over priced & over rated. It’s ok for N.American as it’s very close but still I prefer to go to Far East Asia. ❤️🇺🇸

Bahamas is expensive as well. Most of the things are imported. Whole economy dependent on Tourism.
