I have been debateing on ok nstead of painting the back of my tank black just making a giant sponge filter on the wall. Glad to see them in action before I tried it myself.
as a fish, i can confirm this is the right way to set up an at-home aquarium!
Cool work area. Beautiful fishroom.
Thank you!
You are the Wizard! Tank looks nice ❤️ Glad to see the lights I ordered are the same you are using 🤗 . You've become my mentor! This weekend will be cutting glass ~ will be so nice to see my tanks filled to the top. My bettas are very grateful for your videos! Thank you!
Awesome! After I watched a few video on your fish room I was really wondering how you set it all up and made it look pretty clean. Glad I found this video.
I use a similar method for my lids. Those glass edges are SHARP!!! I've scraped and cut my hands more times than I can remember.
Get some "wet-dry sandpaper" and sand the edges. Only takes a second and removes the sharpness. Another thing it helps is to sand the corners and the lids will slide without cutting into the edging.
Great design will add this to my fishroom
Great video again! It's nice that you have the patience and knowledge to help others. Definitely gonna try the lids.
Thank you!
Your channel is growing! Muahahah great work. :) honestly my favorite aquarium TH-cam at the moment.
Thank you!
@ 3:24 top upper right; those lil baby angelfish! At first I thought it was a canvas, lol
VERY NICE BEAUTIFUL AMAZING VIDEO ❤️👍👍
This is so extremely helpful. Thank you!
The videos just get better... thanks Man.... just awesome
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing - that's an interesting approach to lids that I will give a try
Great explanation. How do you cut out parts for the filter and any tubing?
This was very helpful, thank you for the information!
Super kolego serdecznie cię pozdrawiam👍👍👍👍👍👍
yeahhh i have a light like that and its so good for the fish ❤
Thank u sir so helpful . God bless u 🙏🏻
Thanks again for sharing!
Love your videos, really good information, 😃😊😊😊
I really love all your videos and they help alot. Did you cover yet on how you are heating all your tanks? Are you heating the entire room? Would love an answer!
Thank you! I'm heating the room, some of the bottom tanks have heaters
Woah so cool. Love your videos man 👍😊
Thank you!
Found it... Very slick tops 👌
Also nice pump... ive got the same one.
Yes! Great video to start the day!
1st 😃 Those are awesome lids definitely gotta try that
On those tops, I would do it a little differently...I'd make the back piece of glass (or polycarbonate) measured and cut so that it sits on TOP of the rim (and use those L channels you get at Home Depot, glued to it to hold that piece on) and the front piece cut so that it fits into the track the lid is supposed to go in, like you have it, so that it slides under the back piece.
Great vid! Can't help but wonder why this tops a normal spongefilter. It's way harder to clean and put back in tank? thx
😀👍
ty
Great info. Love the top
Very nice video, the lids were cool...
Thank you!
Your welcome.
You could just make 2 marks and not have to measure "a little over/under 10 inches, or use a T-square". I like the method though! That ruler was actually made in August of the year 1216 !
Yes that helps thanks. But what about plexiglass. Would that be cheaper?
You know the ball end of the glass cutter is a seam tap. You tap along your score to make the crack go through the plate deeper
Another great video!
I have used 1/2 PVC pipes and silicon to glue on my lids, to act as cheap handles.
One question that arises to me regarding these sponge filters is that the residues they absorb are constantly in contact with the water, since they are submerged in it. Greetings from Guadalajara, Mexico.
What sizes did you cut for 20 gallons that were facing sideways? Thanks!
Good vid but deffo recommend sand that cut glass super duper sharp !
Hello. a beautiful room for a hobby! What exactly is the light you use called?
Love the sliding lid. It beats my way of making glass lids. But you did not put a link to that trim you use for the slide. Can you give a link to it please?
It's there in the description, it's the outside corner molding
I would recommend that instead of using an airstone the Czeck airlift is more silent and way more effective combined with a HMF-filter.
Love the content. Keep it up.
Thank you!
👍 ✌
You could just use the 10x12 whole and use it as the top slider and then cut 2 bottom pieces @ 10x8 from a 12x16
how do you clean the tanks with such little room above each one?
I wouldn't use a wooden ruler, they are never straight. Thank you for the great DIY, it's very easy to understand and follow.
While a wooden rule would not be good for precision work.. In this case, it's fine as it does not have to be perfect.. you could use anything that is flat and straight/semi-straight.. a piece of notebook/construction paper, book cover.. or even the 2nd sheet of glass you have.
@@popparock6506 How are you able to agree and still find a way to argue at the same time?
@@luster5497 Argue!?! You may want to re-read my comment. I was simply adding helpful info to your comment. cutting a lid is not precision work.. anything that is semi-straight will get the job done, you could freehand it and still have a functioning lid. Your comment would have led inexperienced DIYers to overthink it so I was offering helpful suggestions.

All I said was "I wouldn't use a wooden ruler, they are never straight."
Which is fact.
.............. so you don't care to buy straight ruler, you would rather buy a bad wooden one instead? Huh?
You don't even need a ruler to do this, yes I got you.
I'm saying "wooden ruler" are simply not straight and buy a better one if you need a ruler. It's a better tool.
@@luster5497 your comment should have read like this then; "I would not build a Cabinet with that wooden rule, as there never straight. But I can see where you would use it on a DIY lid." Wait ..LOL .. now we're arguing .. How the hell did you get me to argue with you. Serious note though I use precision rulers and tools every day so maybe that's why I weighted in and gave options so maybe no one was put off if they do not own a more precise rule or straight edge. Happy holidays to you and everyone reading!
Nice video. 👍👍👍
Thank you!
How do you attach the plastic siding to the top of the tank? The link is no longer valid.
Thanks I’m trying to automate my fishroom!!
A t square would make it easier to cut straight lines.
What are the shelves you use?
Tell me about thos air pump that blows the hole fish room.
The link to the molding doesn't work. Can you tell me the name and manufacturer?
Are the stands sagging? It might be the camera?
Nice video content bro..
Thank you!
@fishboy .. Found it!
So FOWLR lights work with freshwater and plants?
Yes
What do you call the plastic glass siding? I’m not sure what it is called
Outside corner molding, info in the description
How do you quarantine your fish?
With the aquarium co op med trio
@@fishboy1415 Thank you
Comment on the light: It's 0.5W per LED, so the 30" has 60 LEDS. So the wattage is 30W, not 0.5... I think
correct
What is the racking brand

"F" trim for paneling
Do you run into algae problems on the glass of your tanks?
In some tanks yes
