Which Sportage engine would you pick … or would you wait for the hybrid? Comment below! You can read the written article here: www.whichcar.com.au/reviews/2022-kia-sportage-review-Australia-first-drive
Just bought a 2022 sportage ex premium today. 2.4l gasser and I'll drive gas until they dont make em anymore. Electrics just don't.cut it in the backwoods of BC
Been driving the 1.6T for a month or so and I have to say it's a very smooth drivetrain. I think Kia may have updated the shifting since this review since I'm getting none of the lag these early reviews mention.
You missed lots of cutting edge high tech fuction about this model. did you check all the function before you review? or just your personal feeling about this car?
Narrated with the usual typical English arrogance. Such a contrast to the positive reviewers who have posted videos about the new Sportage in Europe and the US. The Japanese Rav 4 is years behind the Korean Sportage in terms of advanced technology and cutting-edge design. Kia has been named the most trouble-free mainstream brand in a highly respected US quality survey in 2021. The Indian-owned, British Land Rover was again at the very bottom of the survey, with 244 problems per 100 vehicles, below Alfa Romeo and Jaguar, another Jaguar Land Rover Automotive company sub-standard product.
At least such reviewer gotta be honest. Can't just sugar coat the ugly stuffs and tell to potential buyers to get one and then once they found out it's not as good as the review said, they will be disappointed.
@@Xyb3rTeCh why defend this sour reviewer? There were many good aspects of this vehicle not mentioned in this lack-lustre review. Many Sportage reviews, from Australia, Korea, Europe and the USA, are on youtube. They are overwhelmingly positive in their comments. I took the Turbo Diesel GT for an extensive test drive from Northern Kia a week ago and I could not fault the performance or design of the vehicle. Why don’t you take it for a test drive and make your own mind up?
@@CraigWinstanley1 I'm not all out to defend such reviewer. But true enough the Seltos is still quite not there yet due to its dry-cluth DCT. If they make use if the wet-clutch instead it would be much better. I've test drove the Seltos and since its the same DCT technology from Kia/Hyundai, then I pretty have some rough idea how it would drive like. Still, I'll buy a Kia over Toyota or Honda. Because those two are highly overrated and a much lackluster driving experience compared to a Mazda, Subaru, or Kia.
This my 4 th Kia " Diesel " a Sportage LX ( cheapest in NZ) 2022 and 4 wd 8sp auto , with my last car a Sorento 2019 " Diesel " and the Sportage diesel are the best cars I ever had ...and I had many cars the last 20 years ...... and I LOOOOOOVE DIESELS .
We have ordered our Kia Spor’tage 2022 GT Diesel due July / Aug 2022 - we would have appreciated, out of the plethora of reviews, which basically have the exact same list of bullet points! But, who has given the diesel a good thorough spin and review?
I was planning to take the petrol variants 1.6 litre turbo only because my driving will be mostly limited to city drive and about 20-50 km a day . Do you think a 2 litre diesel engine can work for me as well ? Generally it's recommended to those who drive long distances. Please suggest.
I'm also in the same boat, I've pre ordered the 1.6T. While the diesel and 8 speed auto is the better unit, for what we'll be using the car for (family) the cheaper petrol and somewhat lazy DCT will suffice.
Same deal on the Stinger GT, but the function needs to be enabled which it obviously wasn’t with this reviewer. It’s turned on and off through the multifunction menu via the steering wheel….
This review is in absolut contrast with several other from Asia, Europe, America and even Australia. The question that comes to my mind is who paid you for this review since it's clear you didn't even bother to do your homework as was very clear when you tried to demonstrate the handsfree boot operation. Such a waste of time...
Drove this in Diesel and rav 4 hybrid not a Toyota person but still think Toyota has best all round package, agree this in a hybrid would be great but ditch the piano black interior please

Our GT Diesel is on order and the first track I’m going to play is Duran Duran ‘Wild Boys’, especially for your wife 👍🏻
I love the way you talk and you say the true with this car.

One thing is missing Head Up Display, trust me you need that for long drive, I have it on CX 5
The interior is very nice.

@@CraigWinstanley1 I would have to agree, I dont expect rose coloured glasses, but wow the reviewer really put me off his channel, not the car.

I believe chasing cars have done a review on the diesel top of the range, they also reckon it’s their pick over the 2.0 petrol and 1.6 turbo petrol.
@@7amido12 -- thank you for letting me know, I watched it last night 👍🏻

@@alexwintulich5941 Thanks, I will go for the petrol version as well.... guessing i wont put this up on a race track any time soon lol!!
I'm looking at either KIA Sportage or HYUNDAI Tucson. Can I have thoughts for those who had done some test drive and research pls ?
Sportage is better
Tailgate opens automatically when you stand behind the car with a remote key.

Duran Duran ‘Wild Boys’!
I chose the 2.0 Diesel, the 1.6 DCT combo is a dog
Considering the diesel as well, unsure of the reliability of dual clutches

Why gloss black in interior,why🤔
Gloss black in the middle is absolute no no.... its visible to everyone.... i really wished that could be removed
This car will not sell without a hybrid or plugin hybrid option. There’s no hybrid option. Why can’t car manufacturers see the demands in hybrids?
family SUV and he's complaining it's too slow...you reviewing a KIA or a porsche you muppet?
I know the noddy
Great research mate.. Just stand there for a few seconds and it'll open.. 😕

Throws wife str8 under the bus. And backs up n runs her over again. ( Nice song choice lad) the wife must have drove the down for u
This Vs Jaguar I Pace
...would be a very weird comparison
On come on. Rav 4 is useless. Zero features at all.
That would have to be the worst review I have seen. The whole presentation was shit. No wonder Wheels are going down the toilet
Why why why its always the top spec, that’s reviewed? Its a family value SUV no a box of expensive yuppie extra’s!
How can you still promote diesel motors in Australia? Never heard about climate change downunder? Coal and diesel, really?
How about you focus on India and China more with climate change. We drive vast distances and diesel is much more economical
Diesel is better than petrol for climate change. You are thinking of air quality
Australia has vast distances. Eg my i30 Hyundai diesel 2009 has done 420,000 kms. A petrol engine would not have lasted so long
Climate change is a myth mate
