I never ran out of power while using the Cyclops but it must be a pain the butt to run out of power in the Lost River or Lava Zone, specially if you don't have the Prawn Suit or the Seamoth docked.

It can do things like destroy constructed lockers full of lubricant, fiber mesh, silicone rubber, titanium ingots, aerogel, hydrochloric acid, wiring kits, copper wire, computer chips, plasteel ingots, advanced wiring kits, and other valuable items.
the grappling hook can gain you some seriously impressive speed when you swing it right, and especially if you combine it with the jump jets. also, the reasons you were draining energy on the cyclops so fast is because silent running uses a TON of energy over long periods. it's really only for when you need to avoid alerting a leviathan, and it also automatically charges docked vehicles off of its own power supply
I discovered the grappling hook + jump jets strat by accident and it's my favourite thing to do while using the Prawn Suit. It's so fun to grapple into something and then just jump a enormous amount of distance.

When maneuvering downward in the cyclops I highly recommend doing it while looking through the downwards facing camera! Makes it so much easier to see what you're doing and where you're going
Nuclear energy doesn't work the way that it would explode if you run out of fuel. "Explosions" only happen when the pressure from water vapor builds up if a reactor overheats, which is of course monitored by the operators. Nuclear energy can be safe if guidelines are followed, just as with aviation, even Fukushima went badly because they were neglecting some part of protection against tsunamis if i remember correctly.

Im not sure if anyone has said it yet but there is a way to "web swing" with the prawn suit by firing the grapple arm in front of you and using the jet boosters you can essentially catapult yourself for pretty good distances. This also works for climbing.
You can build farms on the ship also build more storage there... I had half of my base on ship and food and water for 5 trips or more... Love that game.

I got to tell you that the Grapple Hook is the best thing for the Prawn, that limitless power feeling, that spider man swinging? It`s real and embeded int that little tow. If you hook far away from you and release the grapple just before you reach the end of it, you can conserve momentum and build a lot of speed. You can surely go 2-3x faster than a sea moth.
2:40 not only is there an argument for it being a form of carnivorous behavior, i feel theres even an argument to be made of it falling into an even more awkward nieche of carnivore, a Scavenger, feeding off the dead.
18:30 Jaws: Unleashed would be amazing. I really liked it as a kid. I was absolutely terrified by the part where you have to descend into the dark pit. The map border was also very intimidating, and the underwater mine section was really stressful. You're supposed to be this near-unstoppable apex super-predator, but even that couldn't stop the vastness of the ocean from making me feel small and vulnerable.
I absolutely adore your thinking process and the way you go about things. This game does have a few flaws but boy does it capture some feelings exquisitely. I am not a big fan of the overall style of the game I'd like if it was more realistic with less colors (except for the flora and fauna can be pretty colorful, but the UI should be sleek and dull imo). I still love the game for what it is though, and I love your commentary and such to a very high degree, it makes it so so so much more enjoyable. Holy shit you actually made the Cyclops before finishing the game!!! I managed to get extremely lucky and craft one in the first 3 hours of my last playtrough and I had a blast using it. It's so fun to use it to explore the deeper biomes of the game and it simply acts as a mobile base which is why I love it so much. I really hope that in Subnautica 3 they make the Cyclops a bigger part of the gameplay instead of just acting as an endgame thing like in Subnautica "1". If you play the game without knowing about the Cyclops, there's a big chance that you will make it at the end of the game just to use it to craft a single item that is required to craft the escape rocket.

Silent running also uses about 5X as much power as just normally leaving your cyclops on or driving so thats why so much power was being wasted.

if you make your water factory, try using nuclear. The filtration plants wont use power unless they are producing water, so they do not waste power. Each fuel rod will produce just about 25 water bottles in its life, over about 15 minutes per bottle
I spend a lot of time gearing up on my playthroughs. I think that you should spend lots of time decking out the cyclops and putting all your storage and materials for fabrication, along with a fabricator, on the cyclops.

I know why some people love the Cyclops but I hate it. Have always ran the entire game using the prawn suit because with the proper upgrades and skill, there is nowhere it can't go.
It is called "emergency speed" for good reason, meant for very brief bursts of speed only. That is in fact unironically useful in certain circumstances.

You should use the Cyclops' external cams while driving. Makes it easier to avoid collisions and navigate thru tight spaces.
Flank speed is reserved for emergency situations. Basically a get the f out of dodge option. Engines don’t really like it as well

Pro Tip: You CAN target stalker teeth with the scanner room. They just need to be within range.
