Hi Phil, would recommend you use a garlic lick for the calves,it will keep any flies off of them, especially those ones on the long grass, keeps pink eye from developing.
We used to use a blue bull on our Friesan cows and lot of bother with calf’s mainly scour and pneumonia and eventually found out was a selenium deficiency
Well Phil was waiting for this video, after last year's! Well done You, Liv and Derek, Keep at it! Glad to see you happier! must come and visit Ballinamore Killashee from the very South of Italy best wishes Mick flynn
The weather this year is a big help too with keeping calves healthy. Forcing the Dairy farmers to keep the calves for a month ensures they have to be on top of colostrum feeding.
Calves and cows 🐄 growing your self and liv with roroy yer all keeping busy ...neele the cow dog 🐕 amazing little helper great watching again stay lucky
Goodman phil and goodwoman liv, congrats on your news on developing farmshop, great the calves season has done well for you, great the changes you have made and continue too make are working for yee keep videos coming
We get closed with TB on a regular basis now and as a dairy Holstein herd, the Holstein calves bull or heifer are incredible growers. They leave the beef calves behind. The Holstein bull calves are by far a better calf than the jersey cross. Wouldn’t have anything jersey about the place.
Farms that are set up to be able to keep calves until 4-5 weeks treat the calves much better than those that have to get rid of them before they're a fortnight old
@@FARMERPHIL3690 I've had 1 a fair few years. Bought 2 more this year. Great for keeping a high output to keep cattle under control. They always seemed to know when the battery was getting weak in conventional fencers.
I agree with Phil so much easier with older calved. I gave all mine mineral boluses down the hatch this year instead of a lick. I have no issue buying holistic friesian bulls or crosses that can finish v we'll as they have size but wouldn't touch a Jersey.
Is it not better to put the same breeds together so jersey with jersey en the blues with the more meat breeds so you can feed them more fitting to the breed and you could feed the meat breeds a bit harder so they grow harder
You need to face the camera for those people lip reading p,ease or put a mic on your shirts as when you turn from the camera you can not be herd thanks for the video
Beautiful cafls

Great video, interested to see the calves and hear the analysis. Keep up the good work.

Why don't you have a enough of trough space
That field is collecting a lot of yard art
Well done Phil grand calves and pigs, and the shirt 👚
Some rush for bedding for the cows instead of straw be useful this time of year
Good to see you fp sir and family
Great to see the livestock ....anything on bigger cattle ??
Great video farmer Phil
Any way to stop calves goung the bellish look?
Congratulations on the planning of farm shop👍 what fencers are you using with the stock. Do you use solar fences?
We have one solar fencer for the pigs works a treat

The funky farmer Richard just got some pigs recently I'm sure young harry could talk him into some more 😂
I used cydectin la for a few years had to stop and go back to pour on i found it didn’t work and calfs would get a worm burden
How many....acres/hectares (?). Tis flat-ish. Is there a map anywheres?
How did the rest of the jerysey bulls do
Why don't you let them goats clear all that brush out along the building. Looks like a lot of free food.
For small terrier dog,how is she so good at herding ?
We have no idea😂
The Tammy are look well phil
Good video Phil
Great job again just wondering are your shirts dead man clothes
How much for the 🐖?
How many kgs per calf do ye feed per day
There's not enough pigs that can fair out well outdoors in the country 👍🏻
Liv a real good stock woman , with pigs n calves n goats 🐐 jobs a good un 👍🏻
Having Liv around paying more attention makes some difference to calf welfare also id say 🫡
Are the older calves more expensive?
They are ues
