Boone’s expiration date was October 2021, the day after the AL Wild Card game. Instead, they gave him a 3 year extension and fired Phil Nevin for sending Aaron Judge home to get thrown out at the plate. Rather than hold Aaron Boone accountable for his myriad of mistakes, they just threw the third base coach under the bus and patted themselves on the back.

Agree, he’s too buddy buddy with their players and doesn’t push them to hustle for example Tristan Grissom , DJ, Gteyer Torres etc. or hold them accountable for their poor performances or lack of hustle. Lifetime Braves Fan here & even though the Braves have 5 less wins than the Yankees I feel more comfortable with the Braves & there potential this year than with what i've seen from the Yankees this year. What I see from the outside looking in is a Yankees team that is coming back down to earth & what the Yankees really are has yet to be determined. If I were a Yankees fan my biggest concern would be the inability to stop the Bleeding & the Lack of Vocale Leadership. I know words are not going to change everything but I'm not hearing the Urgency, Confidence or Pride from these players or managers in press conferences. Also im not hearing anyone take Accountability which is exactly what you do to show the Fans you hear them & understand their frustration. I honestly don't know what to think about this Yankees team. I know they aren't as good as they looked early on but not as bad as they've looked the past month. Id say they are somewhere in between & a contender but they need to stop the Bleeding & win 2-3 series to show they are still a contender. A season can go sideways quick & although I haven't seen it with the Braves first hand recently during the regular season I have seen teams like the Mets come out blazing & get a 10 game lead on my Braves to end up losing the Division & being a quick out in the postseason. Even my Braves haven't looked good in the Postseason since the World Series so I now how things can seem great & then all of a sudden it goes very bad. By the end of August you will know what the Yankees are & what they arent & if they fail I don't see how Boone could keep his job.

Boone isnt the only problem. Cash gotta go too. The infield is horrendous outside Volpe. Catcher has been a hole since Posada left. Verdugo is a great locker room guy but when he struggles he struggles.
Firing Boone would be an admission by Cashman that he made a mistake in the hiring and we know he's not going to ever do that.

Boone should of took Gil out of the game when he got the first out and Devers was coming up. He should of taken him out and brought in a lefty to face him. I was shocked that he came out after the huge strike out he got in the top of the inning before. He should of took him out on a high note but ofc he did not. Whether that was his call or not, we will never know. I don't think he is the manager of the team and making the in game calls. I think he is getting told what to do and since he does not have a backbone, he does not fight back on these stupid ass orders.
