Assassin's Creed 3 is a 2012 action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft.The plot is set in a fictional history of real-world events and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. The framing story is set in the 21st century and features series protagonist Desmond Miles who, with the aid of a machine known as the Animus, relives the memories of his ancestors to find a way to avert the 2012 apocalypse. The story is set in the 18th century, before, during and after the American Revolution from 1754 to 1783, and follows Desmond's half-English, half-Mohawk ancestor, Ratonhnhaké:ton, also known as Connor, as he fights the Templars' attempts to gain control in the colonies.

It took a second play through for him to grow on me. Connor just had more issues than Ezio whose youth was passed in high society as a playboy, so he grew up more easy going and charming. Connor, lost his mother as a child, his land is being taken over by colonists, of course he is going to have issues. Once I realised that he became likable.

One of my favorite missions in this game at 02:10:50. I can play it over and over a million times. The snow at night is absolutely gorgeous and the mechanics are so smooth.

Anyone here old enough to remember 21 December 2012? Thought I didn't really believe in it, I remember having the most fun with Legos I've ever had in my entire life XD
I do, mind you I was in gradschool at this time so probably older than you. Strange, I remember wanting to buy this game back then but bought AC revelations instead. The reviews for this were not amazing because they were comparing it to AC2, so I thought I'd wait til it became cheaper. But I forgot this game and only played it for the first time in 24 December 2019. It was such a gem, can't beleive it took me this long to play it.

I've started playing through all the assassins creed games on my xbox one x starting with Assassin's Creed the one that started it all very basic compared to the rest but fantastic game and story can't wait to play the Ezio Trilogy but enjoying the 1st one so much great atmosphere.

Back in the day I was so happy when new AC gets released, I remember for this one I didn't sleep at all one night and I was playing it whole night, it had good vibes and everything was somehow new. I would call it "most complete game in Assasin's Creed world" because it had everything right, story was decent, combat was good and parkour was good aswell.
Now every Assassin's are just same like previous ones.
And I wouldn't call it Assassin's Creed anymore, it's just some fella fighting other fella who has HP counter. Everything lost sense, this is no more stealth game like it used to be. Unlucky. Requesta in Pace Assasin's Creed Serial :D!

for me, AC 3 remastered is the best part of the series. It doesn't come across like that in the gameplay videos, but what I like best is actually the closeness of the camera to the character. The game character is much larger than in other parts, similarly detailed movements and physics as in Unity. the shipping from the intro, this short sequence, was much more adventurous and intense than the free ship gameplay in Black Flag. Ubisoft proves its narrative qualities similar to those in Last of Us. there are horses! Free riding! and it just doesn't feel as arcade as riding in valhalla or origins. there is still a classic combat system without trails, light effects and all these unnecessary, arcade-like effects. the fight is brutal with dynamic finishers, mak in between, sometimes at the end of the fight. free choice of weapons. you can't enter shops properly and then someone stands behind the counter and you don't just shop with a floating button. it reminds me of watchdogs with the richness of detail and the nearby char camera. watchdogs 2 and 3 was much more arcade-like and the camera further away, similar to the following AC parts. the snow, blood in the snow, wildlife and hunting, Indian storyline and bow and arrow - all refreshingly new and beautiful thanks to remastered. New functions such as attracting enemies from bushes or free aiming with firearms and bows round off the remastered experience. extremely satisfied !!!

Father = Templar is British. Colonist went to wars with Britain for freedom, in the Declaration of Independent, it also *wrote that an White man can claim Indian lands* , and one of the reason the Founding Father went to wars with Britain is British King force restriction on war with Native and prohibit settle from taking Native lands, by themselves as Britain prefer neutral peace, and little bloodshed between the Colonial territory and the locals.
It would be in the main character interest to side with Britain, which mean preventing the future when his people are slaughtered to 2% from 30 Million down to 300,000 by 1800s.
If British had won that war, at least the Native, in worst situation would still have 30% of their lands, instead of being lock in barren concentration camps.

@@letsanimate3175 Mine, was AC1. Bought it the first week it came out in 2007. It was so repetative, so I gave up on the series and didn't start buying AC games again til much later (2012). Since then, it's my favourite gaming franchise.
I missed when this series was story driven semi open world and less bloated and rpgish. This is the last great AC game
Hopefully with the return of a time period that is thoroughly documented and a much smaller Area of Land than lets say a desert or the Greek Islands!! It will have that rustic feel of the old assassins creed story. With Alfred as the source or Templar evil, and Vikings being this rugged invaders, it almost remind me of the Native Americans from this series. SO hyped for November. ACIII is the best this was all just me loving ACIII and hoping that Ubisoft changes the game for this next game.
Wholeheartedly agree, but I think Origins somehow did the perfect balance between old and new and somehow grasped some of that AC1/AC2 magic.I am still surprised how they managed to make a land full of desert not repetitive or boring. While I enjoyed Greece as a "good time waster", for me it's AC1/2/3 and Origins. (didn't like any of the Ezio "sequels" as they were obvious milking-rushed-money-grab). Nevertheless, I still believe in a good AC somewhere in around 5-6 years from now.

AC B and AC R had gameplay far more interesting without the game feeling like it is holding your hand like it is in AC 3. Just check Ranker to know the true order of which AC game is best and third best.

That's just the frustration talking. Instructions are there for a reason you know. Then it's only the matter of getting familiar with basic controls.

I am playing this game right now and I am amazed. I was always told this game was terrible ("almost destroyed the franchise!", they'd say). I am loving it. I like it a lot better than Brotherhood and Revelations. I think it is almost as good as Black Flag.
EDIT: After playing the game all the way through, I didn't love the entire thing as much as the beginning. It's still okay but definitely not some of AC's best stuff.

By far the worst Assassin's Creed. The way they desperately tried to insert Connor in all the US History schoolbook McNugget moments of the War of Independence is bad enough but Connor's Daddy issues on top of it? Ugh. Between the lame writing and the tree parkour, it's a good thing they changed direction in Black Flag.
