Fun fact. The black gentleman piloting the helicopter at the end of the movie is Kevin Peter Hall. He played the Predator in this film. The director and producers where really impressed by his portrayal of a trophy hunter from another world. At the sametime EVERYONE on set felt bad for him because he had to run around in the sweltering Mexican jungle in a latex predator suit. So the director wanted to give him a little face time in the movie.
Even funnier fact: before Kevin, the actor who played the Predator was none other than Jean-Claude Van Damme, before he was fired from filming for fainting during filming, the first design of the predator was very different and made breathing difficult inside the costume
I like how nobody puts 2 and 2 together when the Predator is examining Dutch's skull to see if it's the perfect specimen for his collection. It always seemed so obvious to me. Especially since he only takes his armor, mask and cannon off to fight Dutch in hand to hand combat. He has finally found a worthy adversary and confidently assumes Dutch's skull will be his trophy.
That's because movie reactions on youtube are fake, sadly (I've read some "behind the scenes" discord chats of a few of these channels teams where they plan which reactions to make etc, the people on camera aren't even the ones running those channels sometimes). Something I've always loved about the end of the fight between Dutch and the Jungle Hunter is when Dutch speaks to it. It's a logical thing to ask: what the hell are you? I don't think Dutch expected it to respond, but considering it's natural to not expect something like the Predator to exist, Dutch was victorious and still questioned what the hell this thing was. But for the Predator, his dialogue in this moment is so damn cool to me. Looking up at this human, this thing he had been stalking, toying with, someone he saw as a worthy prey, like so many others before... beat him. He was smarter, more cunning and in the moment of what the Predator saw as his victory... his moment of arrogance/cockiness got the best of him and he was stunned himself to realize he lost. So when he repeats the question, I know so many friends and family members who thought he was just repeating what Dutch said. But he was literally asking Dutch: what the hell are you? How did you beat me? You... beat me. It's why I love the Jungle Hunter the most of all the Predators. He realized his error, his mistake and acknowledged Dutch before going out with honorary suicide. Such a great movie, still one of my top 10 favorite films of all time. Just amazing. RIP Kevin Peter Hall.
Also I want to add the amazing contrast between the beginning and ending for Dutch. In the beginning, he arrived like a damn King. The last one out, lighting his cigar, looking like the bad man arriving on campus with the triumphant music playing. In the end, he is the exact opposite. He's broken, beaten, and completely at a loss. He lost his entire squad, literally had to fight for his life against an alien from another world that was hunting him like he hunted so many enemies in his career and barely escaped with his life. Covered in mud and blood, the melody is sad and reflects the mood. And for those wondering: No the Predator did not try to take Dutch with him, he simply committed honorable suicide which is known among his kind and gave Dutch time to get away, he respected his prey and accepted defeat with honor. Jungle Predator was such a bad mofo.
@@Neoghost00my thing is I’m torn half in half when he uses Billy’s laugh. Was it an act of a simple mimic? Or did the Yautja KNOW that was a good response TO his own defeat? @@DeeDeeFrmThaB In my opinion: he used Billy's laugh for a couple reasons. I love that he only mimicked certain catchphrases for reasons of luring someone into a trap or taunting. He definitely used the Billy laugh as a taunt throughout the movie before that moment and for me, it was the realization that he screwed up, accepted his death and used it to both imply his state of mind over the situation and warn Dutch. The reason the Predator didnt kill Dutch right away was becasue the Predator was curious what made Dutch so special (the only human to give it a run for its money), he was examinging his skull to see if there was anything different about Dutch
Kevin Peter Hall is THE Predator. The G.O.A.T. Pred. Nobody has been as good as him as the Predator since. He played the Predator in Predator and Predator 2 and he played the leader of the clan on the ship at the end of Predator 2. He also played the helicopter pilot at the end of the original Predator film. He was 7'3 but so agile, nimble, quick, and strong. He was a beast. He also played "Harry" (Bigfoot) in the movie "Harry and the Hendersons" with John Lithgow. Everybody that knew him had nothing but good things to say about him. Sadly, he passed away not too long after he made Predator 2. I think he was only like 35 or 36 years old when he died. He died of aids from a blood transfusion. Rest in peace to the G.O.A.T.. They made the 100% correct decision to get rid of Van Damme and that goofy looking insect looking suit/design and bring in Kevin Peter Hall to play the much more badass Predator. This creature design and suit and such still holds up amazingly to this day..36 years later.
Can you believe lil'ol'Jean Claude Van Damme was in a lizard suit for early filming? He quit because it was too hot in the suit in the jungle. (I don't blame him) Kevin Peter Hall was great in one of his first roles, in Misfits of Science. His character, like him, hated being tall, but he could "burp" the cells of his body by popping a vertebrate in his neck, and he shrunk to where he could slide under a closed door. There was a telekinetic and a leather jacket teen who peed lightning bolts on the team.
That was intense. Predator had Dutch dead to rights and only a surprise bit of luck saved Dutch. The Predator's unstoppable rampage and no selling was terrifying.
I've been watching films with monsters, creatures, aliens, et al. for over 50 years. The Predator is the best I've seen. Its size and bulk, its horrifying face, its gestures and stature are all A+ .
Single best thing about all the reactions to this scene are when the reaction of laughter to Dutch's line "You're one ugly motherfucker" IMMEDIATELY turn from humor into horror when the Predator roars at him in response.
One of they points about this scene is this: it's one of the first times in action movies that our hero (Dutch) is outmatched physically by a superior being. Up til then, mostly, the tough guy always beat the carp out of the villain. Here Dutch gets an ass-whooping first before overcoming his opponent. Back in the 80s this was new!
Take a note Hollywood: The predator is not just some murderous brute that kills anything it wants and has zero honour or intelligence, and neither is it incapable of things like humour or fairness. Prey was a good movie, but the predator was insulting to me in that film, it just didn’t feel like the predator, it cheated in one on one fights, it killed unarmed people who literally just hid, it was incredibly dumb, it showed no emotion other then anger, and it showed remarkably little thought. It felt like they just wanted a generic evil killer for that film.
Everyone calls Dutch a badass and such. But that moment of silence in the helicopter, that moment he is just contemplating how lucky he was and how all his friends had such terrible deaths. This movie is amazing and surprise no one how director after director just failed to recreate this amazing and chilling experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Since this film, Silvestri has been a Go-to for Action music (and he's NOT part of the big Media Ventures music)
Fans misinterpret when Predator goes hand to hand combat; he doesn’t look at it as “fair;” he figures he’s way tougher than Arnold and wants to play w him…just as a cat sometimes plays w a mouse 🎉. This movie is tremendous and not just for an action movie ❤
4:50 I don’t know if it’s planned or just perfect coincidental timing, but Ashley says “Oh no!” at exactly the same time Dutch whispers it in the film.
Bruh.....that scream Predator let's out with his arms stretched out to clearly indicate that he wants to throw down is one of the few things I've seen on screen that made me start feeling like it was about to happen to me for real lol imagine fighting a Predator with no weapon. HELL NO.
Along with Aliens and Robocop this probably one the last truly great films that used fully practical SFX before CGI began to dominate sci-fi and fantasy cinema.
8:56 Exactly! That’s what makes the ending such a great contrast and callback to the beginning! When we first see Dutch, he’s reclining in the chopper, smoking his cigar, at the top of his game, with his team. Now? Battered, bloody, and all alone. A true example of a Pyrrhic victory.
The helicopter pilot who says, "what the--?" is Kevin Peter Hall, who also played the title character. I find it a bit amusing that we only got to see his face after his previous character was dead.
Good lord I'm so glad I grew up in the 80s when we didn't have to record ourselves watching a movie...."hey everybody, look at me reacting to this movie"
It's the first time in a Schwarzenegger 80's movie I see him tired, desabused, sad and hurting like that ! At this time, he always quotes somes punchlines with a happy ending smile but not this time ... No arrogance, no punchline, no smile ... Just a tired and hurting soldier sit in a chopper totally destroyed psychologicaly !! I like the two shades of the movie ... First, it's a classical action with some muscles and gunfight, arrogance and punchlines ... And then, at the second part, the Predator arrive and the Hunters becames the Hunted and the movie totaly switch to an Action Movie to an Psychological Horror movie ... So brillant for a 80's film who are somes bunch of actions movies with super heros !
to this day this movie perfectly combine horror and action . its a master piece edit: this guy lmao he felt the power of the 80s 8:14 i notice the 80s style #synthwave posters too!! whoa
The Brilliance of this script and "mise en scene" of this movie 1st part you see a commando over geared and plowing through everything with superior fire power, who are taking out by an enemy who uses camouflage technics and guerrilla tactics. 2Nd part of the movie tou see an Enemy with superior firepower who can plow through anything, being taken out by an enemy who uses camouflage technics and guerrilla tactics. The Hunter becomes the Prey.
i bet most of the people who watched the ending where they are picked up by the Heli don't realize that the pilot is the actor who played the predator in the movie.
@YoureMrLebowski, you do have quite a good selection but there are some you should consider to stop using their content. They are just to naive or stupid to understand its a movie. And it is bringing down your content having them.
Or like others have commented some reactions are over exagerated or fake, not saying I personally have proof, but the ones shown on other videos don't look authentic
Imagine watching this during the era when arnie normally kicked the enemies ass with ease. This film was a complete game changer, an absolute masterpiece
It should also be noted that not only does the predator see in infrared like a snake, but it's hearing is tuned to low frequencies (possibly infrasound too) so Dutch's gasps and grunts in pain sound cartoonishly high pitched.

@@YoureMrLebowskiyou should do a comp of all the Predators at the end of part two when they show respect to harrigan
To this day, whenever I see a big muscle dude running I have to shout in my best Arnie voice….
“GET TO D’CHOPPERRRR”.
Nobody knew that the chopper pilot is Kevin Peter Hall who also was the Predator.
Dutch actually hurt him, he sees this as more personal and wants the satisfaction of beating him up first
I never thought I could hurt my back watching a movie..... LOL. You are the best!! - Toni 🥰
I cant believe they've never seen this movie before. I was 5 years old when i saw this
Side note: Kevin Peter Hall who played the predator gets a cameo as the helicopter pilot at 7:33.
4:50
I don’t know if it’s planned or just perfect coincidental timing, but Ashley says “Oh no!” at exactly the same time Dutch whispers it in the film.
perfect coincidental timing.
That one chicks face when home dude was saluting the TV screen🫡😅
Dutch. Baddest muthrgkr Ever. Hahah that guy is awesome.
I still remember watching this in '87 with my friends, and we all lost it at Arnie's MF line!
Kevin Peter Hall and Peter Cullen doing the vocal effects made this Predator stand out.
One of the best movie in the 80's
Bruh.....that scream Predator let's out with his arms stretched out to clearly indicate that he wants to throw down is one of the few things I've seen on screen that made me start feeling like it was about to happen to me for real lol imagine fighting a Predator with no weapon. HELL NO.
Along with Aliens and Robocop this probably one the last truly great films that used fully practical SFX before CGI began to dominate sci-fi and fantasy cinema.
Jaws, you gonna need a bigger boat scene please😍🛥️
8:56 Exactly! That’s what makes the ending such a great contrast and callback to the beginning! When we first see Dutch, he’s reclining in the chopper, smoking his cigar, at the top of his game, with his team. Now? Battered, bloody, and all alone. A true example of a Pyrrhic victory.
Predator’s laugh is definitely the scariest of all time
Arnold movies. I grew up in the 80s and I’m reliving the awe that Arnie brought to the giant screen through the eyes of these new viewers.
Never Bored movie 👑
The helicopter pilot who says, "what the--?" is Kevin Peter Hall, who also played the title character. I find it a bit amusing that we only got to see his face after his previous character was dead.
If I may suggest... how about Stallone vs Snipes from Demolition Man
Good lord I'm so glad I grew up in the 80s when we didn't have to record ourselves watching a movie...."hey everybody, look at me reacting to this movie"
I'm just amazed that there's people clearly my age (Mid twenties) and older who've never seen Predator before. Dope to see their reactions though!
The Predator is the first villain or one of few villains to ever physically challenge Arnold. He gave him a brutal beating.
I saw this movie a long time ago and I'm glad the new generation are watching this.
to this day this movie perfectly combine horror and action . its a master piece
edit:
this guy lmao
he felt the power of the 80s
8:14
i notice the 80s style #synthwave posters too!! whoa
Masterpiece ever.
One of the best movies of all time, along with Terminator 2.
That is still the best one liner of any movie after the Predator removes its mask
This was hilarious brother! I have to watch Cassie's reaction again, she was too cute. Ash was funny too!
"How big is this explosion about to be?"
Dude.....
They all thought the Predator was going to take the bait of Dutches first booby trap. Mission accomplished writers!
The war cry when before the predator attacks 🔥🔥 & the fact that he copies Billys laugh makes this shit so much crazier.
Would love to see park bench scene in Good Will Hunting
2:15 I like how his laugh turns into disgust
Good Will Hunting park bench scene. Someone else suggested it and i second it 👍
The Predator doing Billy's laugh before nuking himself is one of my favorite parts of the movie.
The Brilliance of this script and "mise en scene" of this movie
1st part you see a commando over geared and plowing through everything with superior fire power, who are taking out by an enemy who uses camouflage technics and guerrilla tactics.
2Nd part of the movie tou see an Enemy with superior firepower who can plow through anything, being taken out by an enemy who uses camouflage technics and guerrilla tactics.
The Hunter becomes the Prey.
The who was saluting. LOL love ya man.
i bet most of the people who watched the ending where they are picked up by the Heli don't realize that the pilot is the actor who played the predator in the movie.
How odd is that? Of the handful of Reactors I watch regularly, You've got pretty near all of them on this one clip, I must be on the right track..
only the finest. 😎
That's why 80's action movies are the Sh*t ⭐⭐⭐⭐
"If it bleeds, we can kill it!"
Fun fact, the chopper pilot is the guy in the predator suit
Arnold had some of the cheesiest one-liners and jokes in between fights in his movies back in the day 😂
Imagine watching this during the era when arnie normally kicked the enemies ass with ease. This film was a complete game changer, an absolute masterpiece
It should also be noted that not only does the predator see in infrared like a snake, but it's hearing is tuned to low frequencies (possibly infrasound too) so Dutch's gasps and grunts in pain sound cartoonishly high pitched.
