- Exhaust clips from my 2015 BMW 228i N20 with a VRSF catless downpipe, resonator delete, and an M Performance exhaust from an M235i. The car is much deeper and makes several pops, bangs, and burbles--especially on downshifts. Tune is a JB4 on Map 2, so the sounds you hear are natural and haven't been tuned in. The cold start is way too loud and just makes a lot of noise, but it only lasts 20ish seconds before it tones back down towards the end of the cold start sequence.

amazing man is it possible for you to record a drive by video of you accelerating down street. i'm trying to get an idea if i want to get this exhaust set up for my 328i thanks.
I have the exact same car, color, exhaust and diffuser. Been looking to get some more sound/burbles/pops from the exhaust and I think I just found the answer to my problem👌🏽 If you haven’t already, you should consider making a video of the exhaust in action driving on the highway!
Try tuning. Helps a lot with pops.

Ebay...search for "51192343355" which should be the part number. Make sure its the symmetrical dual exit one, because they make an M Perf diffuser for the 228/30i that only has a left side exit. Should be $300ish with free shipping from a few of the popular Ebay BMW parts dealers

Nicholas The diffuser is about 7 inches wide so each tip no bigger than 3 inches if you wanna keep the twin dual exhaust look from factory. I put a aftermarket twin dual tips that fit perfect to my stock diffuser
How much power does your car make with the jb4
Probably around 270-280 whp, just like most other N20s with the same tune/bolt ons

What’s the best way I can get a better sound from my 228i. I was thinking of getting a new muffler?
For a quick fix, delete the resonator, and cut out the muffler valves.... But $1500 will transform it... 500 for a catback, 400 for an injen sp, and 600 for a BM3 tune.. plus 80 of the OBD 2 to allow for the BM3.. highly noticable gains, and you can play around with the burbles, to really get that sound.. here: th-cam.com/video/tDzm5pFLoic/w-d-xo.html
Why did you remove resonator if i may ask? Was it too quiet?
I'm pretty sure it was for him. I don't have an MPE, but I have a Dinan exhaust and it was still quiet with the resonator.

@@jeandandrea6757 I don't think it was necessarily too big, but it definitely made the exhaust quieter.
@@richardsucks Yeah i recently had my 230i on a lift and its pretty small system, ill probably end up with the catless downpipe from evolution racewerks and then straight pipe it down to the m235i muffler
Do you stil have the secondary cat on?
There isn't a second cat. The N20 only has one cat, and it's in the downpipe.
@@TNStories I see i see, I actually have the b46 motor and I installed a catless downpipe but its still not loud enough for me, Im coming from a catless straight piped mini cooper s haha, but theres a secondary cat and resonator on there currently, I dont know if i should remove both or one or the other for the best sound

Peace Peace yes it’s the same bumper you would only need custom exhaust work to fit the diffuser
