- Maggots are known to thrive in dirty environments and when one thinks about them as a source of income, they could attract condemnation.
However, Aloysius Ssemulema, a university graduate who lives in Mukono district raises maggots as an income generation activity

As with intellectuals.....Makerere Hallooooo....Proud of this young man...
Do u feed the birds with the fresh maggot or you dry before feeding?
am sure the chickens don't mind
Fresh is ALWAYS better. Imagine a steak vs. beef jerky. But globally, maggot "growers" dry them and add it to commercial feed.
Fresh maggots are only viable as poultry feed locally.
Would be nice to know how he monetizes maggots large scale. For maggot farming to be viable large scale, you literally NEED to dry them.
Congratulations
👍👍👍

Wow....how can I locally do it for my few chicken
Cut open a watermelon in half, eat and enjoy the heart of the watermelon, place the uneaten watermelon in your garden facing down, like an upside down bowl. Check under it everyday and within a week you will discover Black Soldier Fly maggots eating the watermelon from underneath. Capture the maggots and learn to raise and cultivate them. If nothing else, you can feed the maggots to your chickens.
