This 50k and 1lakh rule is a very old rule and after covid times they haven't updated these rules. Everyone not caring about this and most of them even before a year they are bringing 60k to 1.5 lakh worth (20-40 gms appx) of gold like rings chains or bracelets. It all depends on luck. Mostly it's ignored by customs within this range. But if they make strict checking they are taxed.
