It's actually pretty good enemy AI. And as far as people complaining that Dom's AI keeps running into open fire and getting downed, the easy fix for that is to hold "LB" and select "Regroup" when that happens so he's not just pushing forward and getting killed. He'll stick with you and he actually becomes pretty useful..... And like, when he gets downed anyway I don't really give a shit. I just leave him and finish the battle sequence on my own.... You don't have to revive him.
Wouldn't that just make a different button the "A" button tho? So technically you would just be spamming another button just not "A"... Not that o care I still like the game as is, just pointing that out.. Unless it's different..

this was the Coalitions first game after taking the reins from Epic. the same happened with 343 and Halo Combat Evolved. it's for them to test the waters and see if they can handle future games proper.
Personally I love how they utilize one button for several different maneuvers. I never had a problem in the original version, cover mechanics, diving jumping was just perfect.

Bought this game and gears of war 4. I owned a PS3 so I never played gears of war until now. I have to say this is one the best shooters I've ever played. I'm so glad I picked up an Xbox one and it's awesome that 4 came with every gears game. I'm just about to finish ultimate edition and then I'll play every other gears in order.
The A button actually is a bit of a detriment to the game. Because it does so much you end up doing the wrong thing a lot and it does make the game more frustrating. Don't know why everyone's losing their shit. I don't even really like IGN all that much but it looks like people are just looking for something to get pissy about.
One button assigned to the movement? That's one of the things that made gears stand out to other third person shooters. It simplified movement by assigning it to one button. If you can't work with that then there's something up.
Overuse of "A" button? Why not throw in the left stick to move, right stick to move camera, right trigger to shoot and the dpads to change weapons while you're at it.. Jeez IGN...

The score is allright, but not very well justified. I think the major problem with this remaster is that it should ´ve add the GOW3 gameplay mechanics, taking hostages, granade stickying, execution variations, more weapon variety. maybe those missing gameplay points are what really affect the final score.

I'm disgusted that the Ultimate Edition still carries flaws from the original such as: -Incompetent AI for Delta Squad -checkpoints placed before cutscenes and dialog segments -combat is very awkward when not in cover -mediocre boss battles -campaign still runs at 30 FPS on the Xbox One version

The use of the "A" button for multiple things is actually a good con from a gameplay standpoint, but it doesn't need to be marked down that harshly.
