My favorite iteration of Goku (and favorite transformation) fighting and even beating Beerus is quite satisfying. Love this battle. Although, based on the description, Beerus broke the rules of time travel. Maybe it should have just been Beerus from the GT timeline. Whatever, still a great battle to behold.
I don't believe GT Goku would've won against Beerus. I believe GT Goku's SS4 form is nearly strong as Post-ToP Goku's SSB form. And Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Goku is almost strong as Post-ToP Goku's SSB Kaioken x10 form. However, they say Master Ultra Instinct Goku would've able to defeat Beerus. So, GT Goku wouldn't be able to defeat Beerus. However, if it's 100 year time skip GT Goku, perhaps GT Goku might've able to defeat Beerus.

People give DBS characters way too much power because they don't how strong the Super Saiyan God forms compare to Super Saiyan 4.

You also can't say Beerus one-shots because it's far from in-character for him to do so when he would let Solar System busters like BOG Vegeta smack him around and not instantly one-shot them.
