This woman is so incredibly wrong and misleading about the history of Brunswick stew.
It originated in Brunswick County Virginia and it had absolutely nothing to do with the plantation owners and the slaves coming together together to share food.
It was first known as hunting stew and that's why it included squirrel rabbit and even pheasant.

Please delete the whole video!!! Give the black ppl credit!! Brunswick stew was invented by slaves !! Back then, they always have the slaves, what they thought was scrap, and black ppl turned them scraps into something historic. Dressing, greens, bbq grilling and the list goes on.. please give black history the credit it deserves

White people brough the pig and cow here from Europe..neither animal is native to the Americas--north, central or south, we brought the horse here too btw. And yes we've been eating our meat cooked over wood coals since the beginning of time, saying someone invented it 500 years ago or whatever is pretty ridiculous. Dressing goes back to England. Collards do come from Africa but they're not too much without our salt pork seasoning.

Drives me crazy when cooks leave ingredients in bowls instead of scraping all ingredients into whatever they are cooking. Also, no sugar in cornbread!
