- Looking through this, it kept occurring to me how much I hated sharing my art with people or letting them see what I made at this age. Times have changed. haha The older I got, and the more amazing artists I was exposed to, the more I wanted to share what I had made. I still cringe if someone walks up behind me drawing now, but I'm trying to be better. Although all my friends know I'm the "artist," I can count on one hand how many people i've told about my youtube channel. I'm still so private about this stuff, which is so weird cuz, there are SO MANY OF YOU. So its the least private thing I do in my life. So I just wanted to thank you for being here. ♥ Its your positive feedback and kindness that has helped me open up as much as I have, and I can't wait to share more with you in the future.

Keep drawing guys! It's important to keep drawing every day, even if it turns out not the way you wanted it to. The mistakes you made will turn into your strengths eventually, it just takes time 👍

Lmao I used to do that but once I got into digital art I just copy and paste the other eye (I draw really simple eyes)
I thought I was the only one who struggled with the "one eye" thing, drawing hands, feet, shoes, guys etc. I was starting to think that I'm useless but after the reading the comment section, I realized I'm definitely not the only one facing these problems and tbh I'm feeling a bit better haha.

I learned the key to drawing in 6th grade

Beginning of 6th grade I would only draw people from the back, and I never drew hands and/or faces (realistically)
Then after I used references, I could draw hands, eyes, and faces. (realistically)
Now I can draw full body people realistically
I was never able to draw in a cartoon style, it just seemed too simple yet complicated.
But a couple of days ago my sis wanted me to draw Tsukasa from Toliet-Bound Hanuko-Kun. And I actually did it, like exactly, I am kinda like a printer, but I don't have an art style, unless if you count being a human printer.

Oh I don't draw eyed or facial features unless necessary on my drawing, I draw noses on them now, sometimes mouths. but not eyes. They don't need it

Its very wholesome that you say stuff like "i like this one, it got so much personality" instead of dragging the art down. That can discourage a lot of young artists, because their artwork may look similar to yours at that age.

Awe, I just got so confident! im thirteen and I've been drawing dragons for years now. i started drawing human faces and body's a few days ago, and my drawings look almost as good as the ones showed in this video, im so happy!

lol i over critique all of my art, even the stuff i just finished a few minutes ago. as sad as it sounds, i can never see the good in my art, i can tell what's bad, and what's less bad. but never what's actually *good*. prob because i'm a teenager with low self esteem and literally no artistic ability at all 👍

And my mum said : I will get it for you if you get off ur ps4 for a week and I was sad but I said:YAS (cuz I love art more than gaming tbh😅) edit: guess who got the ipaddddddddd XD and no I didn’t get it now I got it on January 24 XD my sister was going to the mall and I said “can I come!?” She said “no I’m going with my friends “ I said “idc I’m coming” she sighed and said “fine.” Lmao when we got there it was normal shopping and stuff but then I saw her walk into the Apple store and I went with her and asked “wut chu buying?!” She said “just lookin for a new pc” I said “welp- ima go draw on one of the iPads tell me when ur done” I was drawing on the same iPad Pro I wanted and then she came up to me and said “yui which iPad were you begging mum for again?’’ I said “the iPad Pro 12.9 inch space gray and Apple Pencil 2nd generation why?” She went to one of the workers bd pulled her credit card out and said “I’ll buy you this if you promise not to anooying mum anyone Mk?” I was shocked and thought she was joking and said “surree?” SHE BOUGHT IT AND GAVE ME THR BAG I WAS LIKE “wait wha- w- huh!?” It only clicked in my head like half an hour later when we got out of the Apple store (that apple store was hugeee) and I bowed to her and said thank you (cuz were half Japanese) XD so yee the story if how I got my iPad

She means that as in now when she actually pays for her sketchbook. She means that back then when her parents bought if for her she wasnt fussed about it
Many artists do that... so that you are comfortable drawing on the right page. For leftie artists, they use the left page and leave the right one. It’s basically for comfort.
You should redraw some of these so we can really see your progress!

You just gave me so much hope none of the other artists could! You were so positive about your past drawings! I'm obsessed with this show called 3Below tales of arcadia and I love drawing the characters! I always was self doubting myself because everyone in my class and friends from my other school (our school is a mix of 3 schools so I got to see my old and new friends) are much better than me, including my enemy haha! It's not like enemy where all the kids fight and drama and stuff it's more like competition in drawing, I've always loved drawing but so have they, and I can say that their art is beautiful! I hope I improve someday so I can truly draw what I love!

I’m 13, I just started drawing, and even though I’m only drawing pictures that I can find online so far, I’m making good progress, and hopefully soon I can learn how to free draw. For example, if I look at a picture of pikachu or something, I can draw him really good if I keep looking at him, but if I try free drawing him, it’s awful lol

The only way to get better at free drawing is to do it
Yeah just pick something to draw, draw it a million times, and figure out how everything goes and works together. And if you wanna free draw people, I recommend starting with looking up (I used a book) eyes for whatever style and make them your own!
it’s better to free draw then to copy, you s should use references when you free draw. you’ll never learn if you copy an image online.
pink lasagna That’s how I was a few years ago! I promise those problems do tend to fade. If it helps, force yourself not to look at a reference and don’t judge the art till it’s done. That’ll help find your art style. Then look at an actual thing you’re trying to draw. (Like day you drew Pikachu with no reference now look at the real art of him). Notice the things that are off, put the reference away, and redraw it. The more you draw, the easier it’ll be to find easy little proportions inside whatever you’re drawing. It’ll be way easier to free draw if you try this. Anyway, have fun with it! The more you work with it, the better it’ll look.

I just imagine Magna girl as like this reeeaaaallllyyy imaginative kindergartner. Like the second graders say "Yayyyy Playdough!" and she thinks "oh no their being attacked, their screaming, I must help them!" Idk, once when I was smaller I tried to draw a human, and I hated how I drew, so I just randomly swithched to cats, and I drew cats all the time, (even tho I liked dogs better, I like cats and dogs equally now UwU) ever since then... I have never drawn humans... am I the only one?

I’m fourteen and I have been drawing since preschool. I’m really happy with my art at this point in time. Your art from when you were fourteen reminds of my art when I was 12. Everything was either disproportionate and/or crooked. I’m pretty sure every artist goes through that phase at some point. It’s like the bridge between sucking and actually being good. After that phase, my older brother, who never cared about my art at all, looked at my art, and for the first time ever, complimented it! He said that I drew what people go to art school to draw and you cannot imagine how happy that made me! And now, I look back at that art and cringe unbelievably! And mind you that happened last year! Heck, I look at my art from a couple months ago and cringe! Goes to show how much you can improve in a year.

i cant even remember when i started drawing, maybe when i was around 7? or earlier, i used to always love painting and drawing, so i started drawing in unused copybooks i stole from the study for back to school stuff haha. as you might have guessed, like every young child i started drawing manga and put big circular terrifying eyes on food objects. i don't have my first sketchbook, but i have really old ones to look back on. what im most upset with is the fact i never used to date my work until recently. (i am 14, nearly 15 now) but you can see my big improvement in art, especially around when i was 12. i am always glad i started off at a young age, i was wayyy more patient and easily satisfied when i was younger with awful drawings.

I think it's good to do that naturally, because it shows that you've improved enough to see mistakes in your art.

I appreciated this so much!!!! Your drawings were so cute! And it showed me you could have extra detailed pieces in the same sketch book as pieces that are just halfway done -- in the end it's all practice and it's all good.
I just watched the most recent video and I can tell that Rin has matured and it makes me kinda happy but emotional thinking that we basically grew up with Rin.
I was at the verge of my lowest low mentally two years ago and I would listen to Rin rather than to the mess that was in my reality. And now that I am in a much better place, I just feel so happy that I found Rin two years ago.
I am thirteen and I think it's really interesting that there are so many different art styles. I guess you aren't able to compare our drawings (Like your drawings when you were fourteen and mine at my age now) because I prefer the realistic style. But your art in the age of fourteen is pretty impressive🤭💛
Same! Even I prefer the realistic style! I've ONLY started to properly draw ( It's day 2 now lol ) and I've found out that I'm better at shadows and sketches and shadows than I thought! I hope ONE DAY I can draw amazing!

How I got my Wacom Intuos 3 (my current tablet XP)... I went upstairs and saw my dad doing some work using a tablet, and thought back to digital art videos I saw. I asked him if he had another and BAM! Wacom Intuos 3 for me.
thats such thrilling story. mostly because you ended up with a WACOM at the end of it. omg niiiice!
I remember talking to my parents about really wanting a tablet. and like I don’t know some time later, a few days before Easter my parents told me they have something for me and they gave me a tablet and I was shook. It also was a present for my birthday XD Wich is a few days after Easter was.

I have several sketchbooks for different purposes. One for trying new things, one for markers, one for paint, one for doodles and rough drafts and sketches,a jd finally one for just about anything (as long as it ain't paint or marker, lol, it'll bleed through)

i’m currently 14, and this gives me hope that i will become a great artist at some point. i’m not trying to brag, but since i am much closer to Waffle’s current skills (yet, not close at all, she has amazing art and i can just dream of being as amazing as she is) this video gives me the strength to continue doing art, since i’d want youtube to be my career and i want to improve as fast as i can. seeing that i actually can improve and will improve makes me happy, since seeing that Waffles did art like that when she was 14 and now she’s here, i believe i could also improve and maybe one day, be here on youtube, like Waffles❤️
young artist who might be reading this: it’s really important not to give up! you _will_ improve and after a couple years you’ll look at your drawings and smile, since you remember that even though drawing is sometimes really hard, you got through it and got to bloom as the artist you wanted to be back then. best of luck to everyone!❤️

This is actually really inspiring to watch. I’m 14 and I really wanna be good at drawing but...I’m not. I really love your art style so to see you at such humble beginnings really encourages me to keep drawing and to get better
